    I've had a hemorrhoidectomy and several banding procedures over the last decade. I had a discussion with the last doctor about my history and why this is happening to me. He gave me some advice that has prevented further problems. Don't sit on the toilet for more than five minutes!

      Best of luck…I had surgery to fix mine in January and after I did a major change of my diet, added more fiber, cut out a lot of bread, processed sugar, caffeine, and heavy cheese and other things that can stop you up. Lost 100 pounds, super regular, eating lots of dark greens and lean protein, staying active, trying not to strain/lift things that are too heavy…and they still came back.

      Don't believe American propaganda about Canadian health care. It has flaws, much of Europe is superior, but it's still way ahead of the US where tens of thousands die from lack of affordable care each year. The stats are available to all.

    I had hemorrhoid surgery when I was 15, that's 55 years ago. I walked into a health clinic, the nurse saw my rear end covered in blood and took me into the little office. Doc came in took a quick look, and proceeded to cut the hemorrhoid out, stitching the blood vessel to stem the bleeding. No pain killers through the procedure, just sweat running off my forehead hitting the floor below me (of course I was face down, bent over the examination table) The doc gave me some Tylenol 3's, and I walked home, 3 miles. Before leaving the nurse gave me a large white towel to wrap around my backside, and a small towel to wipe the sweat off my forehead. To this day I don't know why I didn't pass out. Ever since then, I have had two boxes of bran buds in my pantry, and eat lots of roughage. I've never had a hemorrhoid since, and don't plan on getting another one. I'm 70 now, have passed kidney stones, have had two hernia operations. No pain is worse than the hemorrhoid operation, not even hitting your finger with a hammer.

      Yes, I have almost the same story. In 2005 I had a cluster of 3 externals, I had a real hag of a nurse that when she went to freeze then threw the needle in as if it was a dart board, I kicked her so hard she went right through the drywall, 3 Doctors come running over (this happened in our small town medical clinic) only to learn what caused all this calamity. Once everything settled down Dr. Myburg gently refroze the hemorrhoids, cut then open only to find severe clotting

    • @etmax1

      Everyone experiences these things differently, I had a torn Achilles tendon and after waking up from the procedure I took no pain killers. I also had quad bypass surgery and somebody had told me that it was extremely painful but I took no pain killers and found it a walk in the park. The only thing I've ever had done that I thought was painful was 6 weeks after the bypass surgery they needed to stick a tube into the space beneath my left lung to drain some fluid that wasn't going away and I almost vomited as it the tube went between my ribs.
      Then there's surgery I've done on myself with a scalpel and some iodine to remove some infection.
      Main is so personal and a very personal experience.

    • @etmax1
      @etmax1 11 днів тому +1

      I sometimes wonder whether they are right about lack of roughage being the issue, I always (well since about 20, almost 70 now) had rolled oats or some other fibrous breakfast serial for breakfast, multi-grain bread for lunch and lightly steamed vegetables with about 160g of protein for dinner and yet I have developed haemorrhoids that since my 40's were swollen and have been bleeding for about 6 months, so I think there's a different number somewhere in the equation they don't know about.

    Hemorrhoids can be debilitating, ask me how I know. I had the gambit of treatment and the only thing that ever (at least to now) relieved my internal ones was after a colorectal surgeon cauterized them. Bands never really worked well or at all. Thank goodness a retired military colorectal surgeon was working at a close by military treatment facility who finally took that step and it worked, at least for me...about 5 years now without symptoms. The real key is to keep your stools soft with Miralax, stool softeners, fiber mixed into a liquid drink etc.Thanks docs as usual!

    • @DIDYOUSEETHAT172
      @DIDYOUSEETHAT172 2 місяці тому

      Nope Miralax, stool softeners are poison, mess with the internals. figs do a better job loaded with nutrients. potassium, magnesium, iron, calcium, and also stabilize blood sugars. (That from a colorectal surgeon, not me). Colonoscope he looked around, told me what I was taking just by the color of the colon walls, and told me to stop taking everything you just said to take. HIs prescription, 1 to 2 tbls psyllium husk 3 times a day, before meals, mixed baby green salads spinach , kale, arugala, so on, legumes, figs, apple cider vinegar, seeds, nuts, romaine lettuce. Magnesium citrate. grind flax seed, 4 table spoons a day, 10 glasses of water each day, on top of any other 'drinks' such as coffee.

    Greatly informative video!
    In the late 90's, I had laser surgery on my rectum (the outer area only),to remove what I thought the Dr. referred to them as "skin tabs"(?), but not the typical painless skintabs on ppl's neck&arms.
    These started from straining or rushing things along,(if I remember correctly).B4 my surgery, it became too painful to sit down. I tried hemorrhoid products,&suppositories,spraying warm water on my bottom with a spray bottle instead of wiping with toilet paper. I even resorted to the unthinkable of "doing a poop" in a tub of warm water,bc it didnt hurt in warm water.
    Eventually I was referred to a specialist who performed the laser surgery,while I was awake😳.The pain afterwards was mild,&only for that day. I was scared to poop for the first time a couple days following surgery,but to my surprise; no pain at all!! & everything looked normal in the area. Since the ,Ive used wetwipes occasionally,but Ive developed 3 rectal/anal problems over ther the past 6 months or more,but I dont have insurance,so its just a part of my everyday life now.
    Are there any books or websites that I can read up on my current symptoms to see what might be the culprit for my 3 different issues that I struggle with on a regular basis?? Thank you for reading my long comment.😌

    I first noticed itching and bleeding in college. The bleeding worsened over time to the point that I dreaded having to use the toilet. I was in my forties before I heard about banding and decided to try it. Apparently I was a good candidate for it and with a sharp snap or two I was in and out of the doctor’s office. Amazingly it worked like magic and I have never had another problem since almost like it never happened to begin with. I was very relieved and happy after so many years of suffering.

    I liked the information I gained and will be increasing my fiber for sure! If I can stay away from surgery and pain, that is my goal! I was pretty sure my posture and the way I stand a lot with my knees locked back, may have something to do with it. We were taught to stand up straight and suck our stomach in, which tightens our stomach muscles and rectum but I fell 1 year ago and fractured my spine in 3 places and my posture is different now. My ex husbands girlfriend was having some issues and bleeding and found out she has rectal cancer, so being checked out and trying to correct the issue is what I want!
    Thank you again and my best wishes to anyone with this problem!

    I know by my own experience that changing to a very low carb diet, even with low fibre, can also cure severe constipation and incipient hemorrhoids. For years I was eating an obsessively "healthy" Mediterranean-style diet. Low fat, high fruit, vegetables, often organic. I suffered terrible constipation, also reflux. In late 2017 I found out my blood sugar was too high and changed to a low carb diet. Gradually, both constipation and reflux have completely healed, regardless of how much fibre I ingest. Other people eating low carb say the same. Now I just need to throw out all those unused suppositories and indigestion pills. You probably don't believe me, but try it and you may be surprised.

    You shared and talked about many issues. It’s kinda of difficult to decide whether one should proceed with the stapling surgery or just live with haemorrhoids! Seems there are more cons than pros going for whichever procedure!

    I have had them for a decade since a pregnancy. Whenever I see blood, I feel super stressful. I had two rubber bandings. Now, I use Collinsonia root to strengthen the veins and to stop the bleeding. At least it stops for a few months then comes back. I'm okie with that. Best of luck to all.

    Hello doctors, could you please make a video about tea sweeteners? there have been some talking about having tea sweeteners in any food or drink in the UK, saying that tea sweeteners cause more harm than good if you are diabetic, they even say it could cause cancer, that would be appreciated, all the best.

    For several years I had itchy piles that were greatly relieved by suppositories containing lidocaine. Then the lidocaine suppositories seemed unavailable, and for no apparent reason the piles became internal, emerging during and retreating after bowel movements without being itchy or painful. I don't recall any dietary changes during that period.

    Broccoli, broccoli, broccoli. I don't have many issues with hemorrhoids, and the reason is eating broccoli multiple times a week. If for some reason I don't have access to broccoli (i.e. travel) I notice the difference almost immediately.

    No one told me about banding. I got surgery and recovery took 3 months. I was in hideous pain for most of the time. Even when liquid was coming out of me I would have to scream into a towel.... it felt like broken glass coming out of me. I would never do it again even though my hemorrhoids are back in a bad way a decade later.

    I bleed many times after riding my bike!😩Got them from having 3 babies over 9 pounds. I eat a lot of whole food fiber. Frustrating that the bleeding has stained and ruined underpants! They come and go but not sure I would want to do any of the procedures. I’m 71 so hopefully I can live with it. Witch hazel and epsom salt baths help.

    This topic does need to be normalized, so much thanks for this video.
    While some great tips were mentioned in this vid: More fiber, fruits/veggies & liquid/water intake, don't strain etc..., there's one item that either wasn't mentioned or I missed. Given our current societal dependence on tech... when you go do your business, LEAVE YOUR PHONE BEHIND! (no pun intended), aka don't read. Try to limit your 'session' to 10 mins, preferably less. It may feel you're not completely 'empty' when the time's up but that could be the internal/enlarged hemorrhoids at play. Even if you do need to go again a little later, the trick is to limit the time. This has helped me and I've noticed much improvement with these 'pain in the butt' (sorry, couldn't resist) issues. It may not be a cure-all (and I'm def not a doctor), but try this tip along with the others presented in this vid and see if that helps some - it has for me.

    Summation. Caught by IED, eyes burned, metal splinters, broken neck , wounded twice more. Car accidents, motorcycle accidents. Yeah, I know if I knew I was going to live this long I would have taken better, …. Nah would have done all the same. Anyway, Pain management, several meds each one causing constipation on their own, combined brick wall in colon. Controlled constipation with natural means, then Hemorrhoids same. aloevera, and DermaMed Formula H Balm - 50ml. Years of Hemorrhoids gone in weeks. Forget laxatives, grind flax seed, 4 tables spoons a day, psyllium husk, max the water, (no coffee is not hydrating like water, in fact if drinking coffee take two cups water to every cup of coffee) green leaf veggies, figs.
