There's nothing better than watching someone who knows what they're doing, so much knowledge and experience that would otherwise be neglected by making a 'short and quick' video, not hunting a misfire but was definitely worth the watch for future reference, cheers!

Great video. I always tell people to check the coils, and harness before replacing the coils. Most people want to put the, blue, red, or yellow ones in.

Many many thanks to you for this video, after a very long battle with misfiring on my own skyline, I gave this a shot yesterday, saw arcing just like you had on 4 of the 6 coilpacks. I followed your instructions and the problem is solved, the engine has never run as nicely in all the years I've owned it

This vid was suggested to me by a friend, and I've given the offending coil pack the dielectric grease treatment and it frickin works! Random misfire gone!

I have a slight misfire at higher rpm or under load in my Stagea 260rs (RB26) and I'm gonna try this to fix it. It runs beautifully otherwise. Thought it may be AFMs playing up, but I think I'll give this a go next.

did this fix already. going strong for 3 years so far. 1 tip disconnect ur fuel pump fuse while testing. ur injectors would stull be shooting fuel into ur intake.l causing risk of hydro locking ur engine.

I did this test and clean as well, have me 8 months of trouble free driving, did spark plugs and coil wiring harness at same time also replaced pretty clogged fuel filter.
Problem has returned, seems coil packs have finally let go? Car has 84k KM, coils should last 50-60k KM so likely time to replace all!
If you know when your coils were installed and how many KM are on them this fix will help prevent the issue. I would do the dielectric grease when installing new coils to be safe.

Had the exact same problem, upped the boost and after a night of running hard it had a misfire. Thought id just replace the stock coil packs with Split fire ones to avoid future problems

i'm on 394whp and i feel some lag/misfire and i'm not getting fullboost. wondering if i should try this methog, go for splitfire coilpack, or those LS convertions i've been seeing around

My evo 8 is misfiring on boost now:/ I’m running 22psi should I deboost it ? Or replace the coils it’s a violent misfire/jerking it scares the shit out of me

Go with LS2 coils and have more power and 1000x better reliability with higher boost, see my first video for pics on my RB26

anyone running higher boost with bigger turbo/s should upgrade to other splitfire or yellow jacket coilpacks will make a big difference

Yellow jackets fail - yesterday I saw two sets fail on the dyno.

Crikey.. where the heck do you expect the spark to go in your second test.. I suggest that you reconsider the validity of this testing method.

I did this exactly as in the video with permatex dielectric grease but for some reason when I tested after cleaning and applying dielectric grease it got worse, not better.
