Thanks louis, i grew up in oshodi... Those guys you are gently having conversation with are the tough guys of the Lagos community, the untouchables, fearless NURTW members. Some of them are educated and intelligent but due to the high rate of unemployment, many young people had to join them. Thank God sanity is gradually reaching several quarters.
I'm glad things are improving. Just a little improvement every year (like 1% better) will mean a huge difference in the next century. We are often way too impatient with the democratic, Christian and free market process. The US, despite all it had going for it which was enormous, had a GDP per capita below $1 per day in todays money back in the 1890s. It shouldn't be easy to build a prospering society - it should take time, effort and commitment
