Hello! congratulations for your video. very well done! :) I just want to give you some advice if you allow me: try to keep the ground coffee in a glass container inside the fridge. You'll see that the taste will be better. good day! :)
Thanks for your comments and we are glad you like the video. Great tip! Or even better still, if you have a small grinder to grind on-demand as you fill the pods, the coffee will be super fresh and flavoursome!
@@hyungkiparkshop the Genio 2 is compatible so no issues there. Are you buying the Starbucks coffee pre-ground? It sounds like the grind is too coarse, hence the watery flow and taste. Using a finer grind will slow the flow of water passing through and extract more flavour. Be careful not to go too fine though.
Great to hear you are getting great coffee using SealPod. No this shouldnt damage your machine by having a fine coffee and the extraction slowing down. We always recommend regularly cleaning the machine as the best way to ensure your machine lasts for years.
Any small home grinder should do so you dont need to spend a lot of money. The trick is getting the grind size right and we recommend between a fine to medium grind setting. You will need to play around with it and test it at first until you find the perfect setting for SealPod.
I've been using a Sealpod for a little while and have been a little disappointed by the strength. However, I am glad to see these tips and will certainly give them a try later today. A few observations though. My instructions (which, because I could only get one from Czech, are in Czech) say the opposite way around (convex up: Lungo, convex down: Espresso)! So, is that 100% the correct way around? Also, my lid has two small notches in the edge which match perfectly with ends of the front lip of the DG capsule holder. I find these a much more precise way to align the pod than the arrow.
Your tips did make a difference, thanks! I just checked Sealpod's own video and it also says concave (up) for Espresso and convex (up) for 'coffee' with the strainer. Their video also mentions the lid notches. However, I have an old Dolce Gusto machine and it has no middle notch in the capsule holder (making the arrow easier to align).
Hi Christian. We are glad the tips have helped you. If you like a strong coffee, I would always recommend using two pods if you want to get it close to a coffee shop coffee standard also.
Very nice video! I wish you could help me with some issue I am experiencing with mine: More often than not almost no coffee comes out , no matter how neatly alligned is the hole of the silicon cap, how poorly pressed is the coffee or how fine is the cofee ground. Do you have any suggestion?
Good morning. Sorry to hear you are experiencing some issues. There are two things it might be. 1) You are putting too much coffee in there and the water is struggling to get through. 2) The coffee might be too fine and you need to make it courser. Do you grind the coffee yourself? Feel free to get in touch direct and we would be happy to help: hello@maverickcoffee.co.uk or via our shop www.maverickcoffee.co.uk.
Glad you managed to sort it. It sounds like the coffee is too fine and that's why you are having to use a smaller amount of coffee. If you have a grinder and can make it more course, you should be able to get more coffee in and improve the flavour 👌
Thanks for this video! Been having a hard time looking for supplementary information/videos on how people have experimented with the SealPod, and couldn't find anything good. This has been helpful. Would like to ask btw how find did you grind your coffee and around how many grams? :) Thanks!
Hi Claudine. We are glad you found it useful. We use a grind a little bit more course than espresso... but not as course as a filter/drip coffee. We will be releasing another video on this shortly. We try to pack in as much coffee as we can to get a strong flavour and good extraction. Its around 9-10 grams.
Is the fresh grinded coffee this way from SealPod capsule better in taste than original DG capsules? I mean - is it somewhat closer to great espresso from "real" machine? And also - can this usage cause the damage to the machine? I have DG Drop...Thanx...
Hi Marko. If you are used to drinking black Americanos from the DG pods then yes you can get a better taste from your own freshly ground espresso. This all depends on the coffee you use, how fresh it is and it's just down to your personal taste. You can fit much more coffee in a DG SealPod than a Nespresso SealPod so it should give you a stronger and more intense flavour. A cafe espresso machine will usually take 18g of coffee so a bit more than the DG SealPod but we still think it's pretty good. We have had no complaints yet that a SealPod has damaged a machine. Check SealPods website for machine compatibility 👍
@@maverickcoffeeco1379 Thank you... I don't like americanos - I like espresso or ristretto shots...:) I am looking forward to buy that Sealpods from your website and like to know if with some experimets could I get closer to great espresso shot with this tool... So the taste could be better with fresh ground coffe and some experiments? Can you suggest a grinder, which would not be too costly but good enough? Maybe manual would be cheaper? :) Thanx again for great support, Marko, Slovenia
No we haven't. Simply for the reason that tea needs to be infused for a few minutes to capture all the flavours. Therefore we don't get the flavours coming through from tea leaves in a 30 second extraction.
You can purchase them direct from our website with free delivery: maverickcoffee.co.uk/collections/dolce-gusto/products/dgpod-dolce-gusto%C2%AE-reusable-pod-1-pack-200-filter-papers
not god 7:08 the lid seal broke, you can hear it. You'll see the water leaking under and right next to the pod the machine when this happens. Not a bad idea though. I use aliexpress metal ones and they work just fine.
We haven' had any comments of this happening with compatible machines. If the lid isn't sealed properly to the rim of the pod then this will cause leaking. Pushing down and sliding your finger across the entire circumference of the pod is always recommended to ensure no leaks.
Why can`t I find the cost to purchase your seal pod on your website?

Just bought this and tried it for the first time. It comes out really watery on my dolce gusto genio
Does not not work as well on certain dolce gustos ? Also too much coffee ground chunks come out
Is it a Genio or Genio 2 model? The pods are only comparable with Genio 2. Also can you confirm what coffee you are using and the grind size?

Can the sealpod work for extra find grinds?
If the coffee is too fine then the water may struggle to pass through. You can try tamping with less pressure to help.

My only concern is the black lid getting hole punctured on the wrong spot . How do you place it in so accurately so that won’t happen ?
