May the Most High God continue to bless you and your ministry, Greenridge Baptist Church! I thank you so much for the detailed information in a short, simple, and systematic way. Your method of teaching about the Behringer X32 has made it very interesting and fun to learn! Your style: uncomplicated instructions and positive guidance! Again, may the Most High God continue to bless you and your ministry...and thank you so much! 👍👏
What the DCA (Digital Control Amplifier) do is it adds or subtracts a fixed amount of dbs from each channel assigned to it. So lets say Channel 1 is assigned to a DCA and its' fader is set to -5 db, if you raise the DCA fader to 5 db then the resultant output from that channel will be Unity or 0 db. If you lower the DCA to say -5 db then the resultant output of that channel will now only be -10 db. The control to each channel of the DCA will be the sum of the fader plus whatever the DCA fader is set to. If channel 2 is also assigned to the DCA and its' fader is set to -10 db, then the two results above would be -5 db and -15 db for that channels amplifier output.
Good video, but theirs at least two issues I see, Which one might be because of the time this video was uploaded which means that that firmware version might not of been available “V4.0 or later”, I’ll get to that one later, but 1st: It would be nice if you explain the A under the channel, because if someone’s watching your video and see that you have it and their mixer doesn’t having because of using local or setup for local they might get confused or worry something is wrong with their mixer because it doesn’t have the A on it, so I’ll explain it (or try to) When using a stage box (or digital snake) using a Shielded CAT5e cable from mixer to stage box and settings up the routing for the stage box, it is using AES50 port A or port B, and the “A” in the video under the channel’s label/name is to let the user know that channel is from AES50 A or AES50 port A not the local XLR on the back of the mixer, hopefully that explain why theirs an “A” on the scribble script or LCD screen. On to the newer version of firmware available to the mixer “X32”, the newer version 4, has what is called user patch points, which by the way, in the old versions, when routing you had to do it in blocks of 8 (1-8, 9-16, 17-24, 25-32), and it was an all or nothing kind of thing, meaning if a user want to use channels 1-5 for local XLR and use channels 10-15 for AES50 (or stage box), can’t all batch blocks of 8 have to be local or AES50, ETC… But now in V.4 and later, can assign the block channel to user In or user section and goto the the patch points and user section and assign each channel where they need to go now in a batch of 8 channels block, not anymore, personal I like to have everything going to that user section as don’t have to move around the other pages too much. I think that it for the two issues I say… Now I’m going explain about what some has mentioned in the comments here for recording to a computer or virtual Soundcheck: 1) need to make sure your using USB cable and port on the back of the X32 and using the one from the card and not the one says remote on it. 2) if using windows based computers, then need to download and install the software and driver for the X32, 1st, then you can use a DAW app, too get audio into the computer… 3) on the X32 if you used the local XLR connection on the back of X32 at 1st then later switch to a stage box and using AES50 A or B for the source and not the local XLR connection, then need to change the card listing source, because by default (or out of the box) the card is set to the local XLR connection, when using a stage box and AES50, got to tell the card in the routing menu on the X32 to use the AES50 A or B port(s), depending on what is used and setup for use, if the card routing isn’t changed to use AES50 and left on local it’s going to be listening and output them out to the computer from the local XLR connection and not any AES50 A and/or B ports if and when used, so got to make sure that the card page is changed if using a stage box. TIP: If I remember correctly, that the tab/page for P16 name has been changed in V.4 and later to be Ultranet. And the color scheme on V.4 is alot better if using the X32 in a dark room, because it’s no longer white background it more have a dark gray to almost black color but not totally black color, tho, which in my opinion easier and better to look at the screen when the room is dark or dimmed… Well, hope this info help someone out their understanding the “A” in the video and also info about the card and some info with V.4
I don't know how to thank you a zillion times. You're an excellent teacher and I'm following right away. My church is planning to get this Wing x32 pretty soon and there are many sure things I need to know about it.
Jesus love you, he died on the cross for you, accept him as your lord and savior he can change everything. For God so loved the world that he gave his only son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life" (Jn 3:16" But you must repent too. From that time Jesus went about preaching and saying, Let your hearts be turned from sin, for the kingdom of heaven is near. (Matthew 4:17)=
Still haven't found what i'm looking for, a video which will show me how to set up a mic for flat EQ no reverb, no effects, etc. I do audio at a church and the quick start guide is useless.
This was very helpful for me. I recently bought the X32 Rack. Your lessons on the X32 were great thank you 🙏. DCA= Digital Controlled Amplifier. Not exactly sure how “Cue” in this meaning applies to the X32 but this is what I was able find. To cue audio is to determine the desired initial playback point in a piece of recorded music. It is a technique often used in radio broadcasting and DJing. One dictionary definition is to "Set a piece of audio or video equipment in readiness to play (a particular part of the recorded material)." If this helps you in any way. Please enlighten me (us) thank you 🙏.
This is the best explaination of sends on fader I heard so far. I didn't know bus, sends, and monitors where the same thing. Sends on fader means you are sending the control of the monitors to the faders. This cleared up my confusion.
You have to excuse me if this is not the correct way to contact you. I'm a member of a small church and nobody can or will do the sound for the church. I've stepped up, but I don't know anything about what I'm doing. We have a Behringer X 32. And frankly it's a nightmare. I have been searching the Internet trying to learn more about it. I need a set of videos that will take me through the basics of operating the board. There are a lot of questions that I have. If you have any suggestions I would appreciate hearing them. Right now I'm having trouble with the stage monitors. Do you have any videos about that? Also I would like to do a virtual sound check using the Behringer X 32. But I don't even know where to begin with that. I know there are three different software packages not to mention drivers for my PC that I have to load. Do you have a video on setting up virtual sound checks? Thank you for your time.
Hi, when you were talking about your gain on your mic that you are using, how come when your raised the fader on your mic, it didn't get louder or blasting especially with the gain up? Your fader was at the bottom but I still could hear your mic, then you raised it all the way and your level coming out didn't change?
He was probably routing that channel to one of the buses and setting it pre-fader so that there is no effect of the Fader changes to it. The gain knob is not under the control of a Pre fader, which is why when he was increasing the gain, we could see a change in it. That is why once a gain level is achieved, it should be kept the same to avoid the overall mixing issues.
As far as you know, the eight output faders can be configured as input faders to have 24 input faders at hand at the same time without having to change layers. It would be useful for live. With the compact model it is possible by pushing 1-8 and 9-16 at the same time even if it does not appear in the manual.
God bless your ministry. God has given you the ability to communicate technical information, clearly and concisely. Thank you !!! Problem: 1) Drummer may have tried to adjust his channels on PA after rehersal was over 2) Came back the next day and none of his drums are coming through front of house. 3) I will need to check the drum DCA group to make sure it is not turned down 4) Need to understand what the routing should look like from lets say drum inputs mic channels 2-6, and how they get routed to output mains 15 & 16 to front of house. speakers. He may have changed the routing unknowingly. Again excellent video. Thanks again, Rich
I'm from Indonesia, thank you teacher for the knowledge you have taught me, I really like it. I got additional lessons from the teacher, this was very useful for me.
Excellent video! Thank you! We're considering the X32 for our church. Certainly don't need 32 channels, but we're also still growing. This will be a huge upgrade from our 20yo Mackie!
Hello, sir Paul. I've learned a lot from your video tutorials. I have seen many tutorials on UA-cam, you are different, awesome and you have gradually explained each section of the X32 mixer. Especially to someone like me who wants to learn. Right now I have a plan to buy so before I buy I need to have knowledge even just basic. I am an electronic technician and I wish to learn more on mixing console. I would like to ask a favor if you can make step by step video tutorials on how to use those knobs, faders, group routing, aux sends, buttons and other functions of x32 mixer. From philippines. Thank you very much.
Thank you! Your presentation is still very helpful! We unboxed the X32 at our church yesterday and the board is simply overwhelming... I greatly appreciated this presentation.
I have my laptop playing sound input, output from aux 5&6 and playing back the livestream .. the Livestream audio back into the board on aux 1 & 2 using the card section of the routing alright so . .. now here is the conflict.. i have aux 1 & 2 channel muted and the left and right fader is down and yes all my sends to fader level for that channel is muted and no level 🎚️ is raise... Can u explain why am hearing am hearing the Livestream audio in the left and right when there is no level 🎚️ are button for the Livestream press or raise to on position.
we're currently using a analog mixer but thinking of getting a digital mixer for our church hopefully this year, but watching your video bring so much insight of how it works it comparing to a analog one. Thank you for this amazing video,God bless
Brother you are too good in your explanation. The doubts which I had in this same machine is very well cleared. God bless . Please add some of your choir mixing if you can . ❤

My channel 5 direct input when I connect on the back of mixer in xlr is coming in channel 13 we are using ultra link Ethernet cable & using announcer console with Ethernet cable,so how can I change the that to bring in channel 5
You did an incredible job explaining that. I've watched several tutorials on this board and this by far has been the most beneficial and informative. Blessings to you and your ministry.
If I have musicians in ear monitors playing the iPad even if they turn it down in their bus send then what is wrong? I assume it's the routing for the iPad?
The DCA to me is like a sub mix except that you are saying one has assign the channels to at least one DCA to have sound in the master mix, is this correct,
Also I want to attached the speakers with direct out so how I can go through the output command my channels to direct in the speakers so which output I can use & how I can assign
On most mixer boards and probably on this one the Direct Outs come from the early part of the gain structure of the channel. Most of the time you pick them off just after the Gain control of the channel. They are used to send the unprocessed signal either to device to process it before bringing into another channel or they are used to get raw unprocessed signal to send to a recording device to be played back and processed in the future.
Not me tryna learn to use this before I have to go check tmrw
Same bro 🤣🤣
You and the rest of us lol
Lmaooooo I swear bro
Here I am for the same reason as yall boys

We are new to the X32 and M32 Mixers. I appreciate how you broke each section down, God bless you. Do you have any more tutorials?
God bless you! I literally learned how to run this board from this video
Very useful tips on the Behringer Thank You!
Good video, but theirs at least two issues I see, Which one might be because of the time this video was uploaded which means that that firmware version might not of been available “V4.0 or later”, I’ll get to that one later, but 1st:
It would be nice if you explain the A under the channel, because if someone’s watching your video and see that you have it and their mixer doesn’t having because of using local or setup for local they might get confused or worry something is wrong with their mixer because it doesn’t have the A on it, so I’ll explain it (or try to)
When using a stage box (or digital snake) using a Shielded CAT5e cable from mixer to stage box and settings up the routing for the stage box, it is using AES50 port A or port B, and the “A” in the video under the channel’s label/name is to let the user know that channel is from AES50 A or AES50 port A not the local XLR on the back of the mixer, hopefully that explain why theirs an “A” on the scribble script or LCD screen.
On to the newer version of firmware available to the mixer “X32”, the newer version 4, has what is called user patch points, which by the way, in the old versions, when routing you had to do it in blocks of 8 (1-8, 9-16, 17-24, 25-32), and it was an all or nothing kind of thing, meaning if a user want to use channels 1-5 for local XLR and use channels 10-15 for AES50 (or stage box), can’t all batch blocks of 8 have to be local or AES50, ETC…
But now in V.4 and later, can assign the block channel to user In or user section and goto the the patch points and user section and assign each channel where they need to go now in a batch of 8 channels block, not anymore, personal I like to have everything going to that user section as don’t have to move around the other pages too much.
I think that it for the two issues I say…
Now I’m going explain about what some has mentioned in the comments here for recording to a computer or virtual Soundcheck:
1) need to make sure your using USB cable and port on the back of the X32 and using the one from the card and not the one says remote on it.
2) if using windows based computers, then need to download and install the software and driver for the X32, 1st, then you can use a DAW app, too get audio into the computer…
3) on the X32 if you used the local XLR connection on the back of X32 at 1st then later switch to a stage box and using AES50 A or B for the source and not the local XLR connection, then need to change the card listing source, because by default (or out of the box) the card is set to the local XLR connection, when using a stage box and AES50, got to tell the card in the routing menu on the X32 to use the AES50 A or B port(s), depending on what is used and setup for use, if the card routing isn’t changed to use AES50 and left on local it’s going to be listening and output them out to the computer from the local XLR connection and not any AES50 A and/or B ports if and when used, so got to make sure that the card page is changed if using a stage box.
TIP:
If I remember correctly, that the tab/page for P16 name has been changed in V.4 and later to be Ultranet.
And the color scheme on V.4 is alot better if using the X32 in a dark room, because it’s no longer white background it more have a dark gray to almost black color but not totally black color, tho, which in my opinion easier and better to look at the screen when the room is dark or dimmed…
Well, hope this info help someone out their understanding the “A” in the video and also info about the card and some info with V.4
Really great video, totally clarified the board for me.....Thank you

You need to watch DREW BRASHLER. He is the best place to go for x32 info. Had mine for three years and learned a lot of it from him.
You're very good at explaining. I'm going to look for more of your sound videos. Thanks!
Thanks , this is an eye opener for some novice in the digital console like me
Really great instruction. Clear and to the point. Thanks 🙏
thank you! so much better tutorial than lots out there...
When I made changes to scene 96, it also changed scene 01. Any answers as to why?
Thanks so much, i have learned but practice make perfect

What an amazing video! Really helped me understand a lot more about the sound table. The way you explain is excellent. Thank you thank you.
wow! Best presentation on the X32 by far! You made the complex simple for an alternate volunteer! Thanks!
🙏🏻🙂some helpful reminders and re-cap tips there thanks!! I have the X-32 rack but majority of functionality same of course 👍
Brother you are too good in your explanation. The doubts which I had in this same machine is very well cleared. God bless . Please add some of your choir mixing if you can . ❤
Thank you very much for this. I especially liked how you explained about gain in a very simple manner.
This video has very helpful, thank you for taking your time in presenting this board. Looking forward.
Hey Paul, this is one of the best tutorials of the x32 on youtube. Thanks for sharing it!!
Wow. This is so easy to follow that I actually learned how to operate my board. Many thanks to you!
Far out you made this sooooo easy
God bless you so much but please can help me full training video about behringer wing cos my church is changing our board. Thank you
This has been a great insider to the basics of using this desk :) This video has really helped me get a better idea of how things work. The way you described how things work but giving them in different meanings helped me a lot. Thank you
This video helps me @ my church in sound production. Learning new things sharpens my skill set. Thank you.
This is so cool I really enjoyed it. I was looking for something so I can learn little by little on how to work more and more with the soundboard because I have a soundboard at home but I don’t know if it’s just being intimidating to me because I haven’t really got a chance to practice with it. So I was looking for something that kind of just give the basics so at least I know what to expect.
PS I have a question in your opinion what is a good way to practice with the soundboard of a pre-Sonus 16, but at home I have speakers and I also have microphones I have like one or two guitars, but how do you practice?
I am open to suggestions. I would appreciate your opinion and tips.
My channel 5 direct input when I connect on the back of mixer in xlr is coming in channel 13 we are using ultra link Ethernet cable & using announcer console with Ethernet cable,so how can I change the that to bring in channel 5
Nobody can teach simpler than this. Thankyou.
Thank you, I have been struggling to understand the Digital Mixer but the explanation on this video helped quote a lot.
Sir thanks for the info very nice explanation i have a question how setup quickly for band any guide thanks for your response God bless 🙏🙏🙏
You did an incredible job explaining that. I've watched several tutorials on this board and this by far has been the most beneficial and informative. Blessings to you and your ministry.
Hi Paul, I just read DCA stands for Digitally controlled amplifier.
Go non-digital
If I have musicians in ear monitors playing the iPad even if they turn it down in their bus send then what is wrong? I assume it's the routing for the iPad?
Have found it more useful since we're planing to have one ,perfect explanation and please can we have more of your tutorials
Well explained !
The DCA to me is like a sub mix except that you are saying one has assign the channels to at least one DCA to have sound in the master mix, is this correct,
Also I want to attached the speakers with direct out so how I can go through the output command my channels to direct in the speakers so which output I can use & how I can assign
Thanks so much. I started to learn sound mixer this year and your explanation is simple and easy to follow.
Thank you!
God bless you,
and every beautiful soul, everywhere.
:)
Fantastic and simple to understand. Just wish I had found it a couple days before. Thanks
thank you im using the same board at church and i didnt study for that, this video was very helpful
I literally know how to function this board after watching this video!! Thanks for this!!
Hi, mine is not a comment. I am seeking info if you do have classes on line or in person? Thank you.
