It looks like he's using a different medium than graphite for the darker parts and details. Is it some colored pencil or maybe charcoal?

Well done. But some how it is too perfect. It looks like an airbrush painting or photoshopped photo. I am missing some skin irregularities, which most people have. The skin is too smooth. But then again, I do not know if it the actual finished result or just a stage of the drawing.
