The Seahawks had a 9-8 record last season with one of the worst defenses in the league. If they have an average defense they should be able to make the playoffs.
It's gonna be hilarious if, and personally I think when, we smash teams. Like u were saying, if our defense was even average last year we might have won 12-13 games. They ain't ready for The Return of the BOOM!
If they were in almost any other division, I think they would get way more playoffs, but...if they weren't in the NFC West, I don't think people would respect them anywhere near as much. As long as Schneider is able to maintain form in drafting and McDonald is able to stick the landing as coach, their window should open up again in the latter half of this decade.
Even more importantly, he was under an insane amount of pressure last year and performed pretty decently. His *average* pressure rate for the whole season was the same as the pressure rate Daniel Jones was under in the game against the Seahawks where we got 11 sacks. Geno had 31 (not great) but he averaged less than 2 per game under that pressure... and on top of he had extremely good accuracy. I'm not saying he's top 5... but with a decent o-line, he could easily be in consideration for top 10.

The defense is stacked and they added a lot to the D line along with having the defensive guru Macdonald coaching them now and the offense has always been stacked the O line just got decimated. They added to the O line, got Connor Williams at center and hopefully the tackles come back at full health then the offense and defense should both be top 10 units

For Seattle fans, it definitely felt like Leonard Williams was a game changer in our last few games. I understand what he means though, especially from the salary perspective, they probably could’ve gotten similar value for much cheaper.
Good breakdown. I think 2 key things need to be better than last year. Getting off the field on defense. Lowering the pressure rate on Geno. Which was like 43% if that goes below 30% then they should win 10 games.
What I find weird is people expecting them to take step back this year despite being expected to be a serious playoff contender last year. The team got better and the coaches improved significantly
I don't know if I'm ready to say that the Seahawks are gonna be dark horse contenders in one year. Their new coaching staff might be the biggest difference and how they perform but they still in the same Division as the Niners and Rams
I don't think the 9ers or Rams will be bad, but they do have some weaknesses. There are good reasons to predict both taking a step back... I'm not saying they definitely will, but the 9ers o-line struggled last year and Trent Williams is injured (and has been declining). The Rams defense was not amazing last year, and they lost Aaron Donald (also, you could claim that they over-performed a little last year).
Floor 7-10. Ceiling 10-7. I think the team looks quite a bit different. The defense will be better in every regard. Top 10 at least. The offense will take a step back, mostly at the fault of geno. This is my bet. I of course can and likely will be wrong
I know it's early, but signs are pointing to them having good run stuffing. I'd be surprised if they were not a top 10 defense by the end of the year. And, while I think the o-line will be at best middle of the pack, Geno's stats indicate that that may be sufficient for a top 15 offense. Also... I think they're in the same position as the rams but worse. I agree that seeing how Seattle does against Miami and Detroit will be telling... but ceiling of 9? I'd put the ceiling at 12: split w/ Rams & 9ers, sweep the Cards, beat 3 NFC North teams, 3 AFC East teams, and 2 of the Broncos/Falcons/Giants. Clearly optimistic, but not crazy. Floor with no injuries... I'd say 7 win floor: wins against the Broncos, Pats, Giants, Cards (once), and Vikings... then 2 of Falcons, Cards, Jets, Bears games. Aveerage of 9.5 wins.
Our OLine is such a question mark for me. The only two positions that feel set in stone is left tackle and left guard. Center will be C Will when he is healthy but he’s coming off an ACL tear and hasn’t practiced at ALL for us until maybe this week if he has. And who is to tell that knee can hold up in the regular season. Right guard is still a battle and right tackle will be Abe Lucas but he STILL hasn’t played either. I feel like we are too optimistic for this OLine. Although on paper I feel it’s been upgraded. Just not nearly as settled as I think it’s being portrayed. Byron Murphy has been balling out, I keep trying to temper my expectations or excitement for him but he hasn’t had a bad practice and looked virtually unblockable in that preseason game. Mike Mac couldn’t help but smile and praise him when asked about Byron, which if anyone watches his pressers he does not do that for every player at all, they have to be really impressing him. I’m hoping he balls out!
The issue last season was our defense. I believe we addressed some of the holes. Now geno can play a bit more at ease. Our defense has been attrocious these last few seasons. So we definitely should see an improvement. That being said, the 9ers are still stacked, and the rams are still lingering around. I'd be happy with a wild card spot.

It really wouldn't take that much to have a great year. They won 9 games while once again being the worst run defense. If they could just improve that to middle of the pack they should win a couple of more games because it would give their offense more possessions. The talented Seahawks offense were top 10 in yards per play but had the fewest snaps of any team in the league because their defense couldn't get off of the field.
I honestly think last year's 9-8 but no playoffs was needed. The team got to finish the season with a win, which is an upper; there's at least some dignity in going out on a win. But if they had made the playoffs, they might not have replaced the coaching staff.
Loving McIntosh, can run the rock and he is very physical. I hope he can do it in regular season. I think this offence is going to shock the world. I’m saying it here and now! We are winning the Super Bowl! And are going to beat the Niners Thrice this year!
You got an updates/updated Vikings video coming up considering the very recent developments? Damn, Minnesota cant have any nice things apparently :( Seahawks are gonna be Beast Boys, hopefully this year but because there's lots of new shiny things going on to get settled in maybe or maybe not. Next year for sure, regardless of how they do this year I just want the guys to come out relatively healthy as the season goes along.
I think Noah Fant could have a breakout year. Dissly is gone and Lockett is slowing down. If JSN doesn’t pick up the slack, it’s reasonable that Fant becomes the 2nd receiving option
if you look at the clips of the defense giving up huge rushing yards in this video, you could see why the new regime didn’t want quandre diggs back, like omg
The last two years with just an average defense Seattle would have won 11. The offense will not be the reason they lose this year baring huge injuries. It's the defense. If it's average Seattle it a tough out. If it sucks Seattle wins maybe 6 because of who they play. When they play them. And where they play them. 12 win or 6. Probably closer to 6. To many new things for it to click right off costing them games. New HC, OC, DC to name three huge ones. An OL with 5 ifs on it. If the click Seattle hums along if they don't, they struggle to do anything just like last year. Great RB, WRs and a QB doesn't matter if the QB is on the ground and the RB is getting tackled in the backfield.
Saying that the Seahawks could make the playoffs this year when they were one game away from making the playoffs last year is not some kind of profound insightful edgy take. Like, if the Seahawks defense was just constantly middle of the road they would have comfortably made the playoffs last year. They almost made it in with statistically one of the worst defenses that year.
Bro what’s with the sad background music?? lol. And I do think Jonathan Hankins will make a big difference. The cowboys run defense fell off without him
@DaNxYsmells007 the seahawks have also ran the fewest offense plays in the league over the last 5 seasons hopefully with the massive change in Coaching the problem of the offense being bad on third down will be fixed
Please stop pumping up this team. I am a long time Seahawks fans and the season is full of ups and downs. Let the play from week 1 speak for it's self. This team is a long way from being a contender.
He said sneaky contender. Seattle definitely qualifies as a contender. They went 9-8 with arguably one of the 5 worst coaching staffs in the league. If Seattle has an even top 15 staff year one they can do a lot with the talent they have. They very likely aren’t winning a Super Bowl this year but they can make playoffs
Contenders for what?? Top 10 draft pick in 2025 maybe. This team has a suspect oline, average to below average D across the board expert for their 2nd year corner Witherspoon...and an offense that tends to fall apart when it matters the most a lot of times. They're the 3rd or 4th best team in their own division. They're not contending for anything!
This video spent too much time talking about the Seahawks defense of LAST year instead what its goin to look like this year under this new coaching staff. Stop the run? The run hasn’t even started yet this is a new team
Coming from a Hawks fan. You said it. I have zero confidence in Geno clutching it in San Fran when it matters. And that's what it takes to succeed in this division. Geno doesn't have the clutch against the elite teams a lot of the time and that limits his and our ceiling.
@@jamess2664 sure. And is Sean McDermot a good coach? Really good in the regular season. Do you really expect Sean not to screw it up in the post season in clutch situations? The same applies to Geno. And even with your comment, we missed the playoffs. And when Geno has been in the playoffs, he looked lost. He has some of the best weapons in the league. Um... did you watch Geno play? Sure, he made bad decisions in some games... while under the highest pressure rate of any QB... and he still had some of the highest accuracy and the lowest sack numbers. Considering his year-long pressure rate was the same as Daniel Jones' rate in the Seahawks game where he took 11 sacks... while Geno averaged less than 2 per game under that same presure... The "GeNo Is bAd!!!1!" narrative is dumber than I'm intentionally trying to make it look.
@@Seahawkshoi I picked the Saints and the Bucs because both teams are better than the Pamthers and Falcons 1 gets in as division winner it's common sense.Saints will be 9-8 or better because they should be 4-2 at worst against their division rivals.
Cowboys are garbage. Eagles need to figure out their coordinator situation. Bucs and Saints aren't going to sniff the playoffs with a Canales led Falcons in the division. 49ers have no O-line. Rams have no defense. Lions, Packers, Seahawks, Rams, 9ers, Eagles, Falcons in the playoffs. At the moment, I'd say Eagles or Falcons take 1 seed because their divisions are trash.

Shhhhh, don’t tell everyone
I think Garret is consistently optimistic for every team 😂
Good with a bad year if we’re building something
The real question is how far can the 49ers and Rams go in a division with the Seahawks
how you feelin after the JJ injury?
@@Slaqin I am very sad
@@FootballAnalysis1you should become a Seahawks fan for this year
Defense fills the seats in Seattle. Build one
How can a team be under or overrated if they have not played a regular season game as a team. New coaches and players, hard to tell.
Just depends on that offensive line
You do a great, fair and interesting job descirbing my faovorite team....THE HAWKS!! GO HAWKS!!!
Thoughts on JJ McCarthy?
Video within one week was the deal and a video within a week I got. Perfect man. Thanks and great work as always✌️
The Tj Watt photo isn’t centered with the other three photos, please fix mister man.
We traded a 3rd and 5th for Williams I believe
I think Noah Fant could have a breakout year. Dissly is gone and Lockett is slowing down. If JSN doesn’t pick up the slack, it’s reasonable that Fant becomes the 2nd receiving option
He was a first round pick with great size and speed. If they fed him the ball he could be a force.
if you look at the clips of the defense giving up huge rushing yards in this video, you could see why the new regime didn’t want quandre diggs back, like omg
You could say the Seahawks, rams, bucs, and colts are all sneaky contenders but people wanna only hype up the jets and shit
i miss legion of boom
Sorry about JJ
Seahawks will win 11+ games
Won’t win a playoff game with Geno and that awful rush defense.
Omg 11 seconds ago. I'm so early for another team preview😊😊😊😊
As a Seahawk fan watching these clips from last year and looking at Jamal Adams triggers me bro can you add a warning next time 😂
Best thing they have done is get rid of safetys. They were a pete projectt gone terrible
Bro what’s with the sad background music?? lol. And I do think Jonathan Hankins will make a big difference. The cowboys run defense fell off without him
We bout to shock the world🫡
i doubt seattle can get a win this season since seattle's new coach will have trouble doing his "magic" which they do go winless for years to come
I get it. English is hard
NEED A GIANTS BREAKDOWN
If DK gets 150+ targets, he'll easily have a 1400+ yard season
Sadly not happening with Geno. The D knows too Lock up DK so that's why Geno always dumping the ball too a TE or Lockett.
@DaNxYsmells007 the seahawks have also ran the fewest offense plays in the league over the last 5 seasons hopefully with the massive change in Coaching the problem of the offense being bad on third down will be fixed
sorry but geno smith is not taking the seahawks far into the playoffs. their offense is mid
SEAHAWKS FANS, LOOK OUT FOR BOYE MAFE THIS YEAR, GUYS A SACK MONSTER. WAS QUIET 2ND HALF OF SEASON BUT HE WILL ONLY BE BETTER THIS YEAR
SEA will finish 3rd in their division
Shh, we are just rebuilding, okay?!
You know ball
Please stop pumping up this team. I am a long time Seahawks fans and the season is full of ups and downs. Let the play from week 1 speak for it's self. This team is a long way from being a contender.
He said sneaky contender. Seattle definitely qualifies as a contender. They went 9-8 with arguably one of the 5 worst coaching staffs in the league. If Seattle has an even top 15 staff year one they can do a lot with the talent they have. They very likely aren’t winning a Super Bowl this year but they can make playoffs
9wins8loss
6-8 wins.
Byron balls 2 murphy
Contenders for what?? Top 10 draft pick in 2025 maybe. This team has a suspect oline, average to below average D across the board expert for their 2nd year corner Witherspoon...and an offense that tends to fall apart when it matters the most a lot of times. They're the 3rd or 4th best team in their own division. They're not contending for anything!
It's people like you that making gambling worth it.
This video spent too much time talking about the Seahawks defense of LAST year instead what its goin to look like this year under this new coaching staff. Stop the run? The run hasn’t even started yet this is a new team
Falcons, Bills & Bears are being overated so much 😂
For the algorithm.
@@Reklaw302 hope you are having a great week Reklaw
lmao you say this about them every year and they never amount to much of anything
We will beat Rams Donald retired. No danger
I don't care what anyone says, with Geno at QB, the Hawks will NEVER be a Superbowl contender!!!
Good thing Geno doesn't care what you say
Seahawks 11-6
This guy blinks alot 😂
I can't tell if your Supporting us or hating on us because in this video you just been going back and forth.
Because they're a mediocre team there's a lot of bad and good.
nobody gives enough fucks about the seahawks to place hate on em
@@KyzirGordon Says the nitwit going to deep-cut seahawks content to bitch about them.
I’m early! Go Texans 🤘🏻
Russel looked like parkinson
Hella Overrated they aint doing shit with that talentless roster
Coming from a Hawks fan. You said it. I have zero confidence in Geno clutching it in San Fran when it matters. And that's what it takes to succeed in this division. Geno doesn't have the clutch against the elite teams a lot of the time and that limits his and our ceiling.
Geno had the most go a head 4 quarter and OT touchdowns last season.
He needs to be consistently clutch or else we need to start howell or look for a different option in the draft.
@@austinebner4905geno would be getting mvp votes if we had a league average oline. He also has been one of the most clutch qbs these last few years so I don’t understand why you think he isn’t clutch.
@@Seahawkshoi because I've watched him play. I hope that you are right. I truly hope you are right though. Go hawks. Let's see how he does this season!
Um... did you watch Geno play? Sure, he made bad decisions in some games... while under the highest pressure rate of any QB... and he still had some of the highest accuracy and the lowest sack numbers. Considering his year-long pressure rate was the same as Daniel Jones' rate in the Seahawks game where he took 11 sacks... while Geno averaged less than 2 per game under that same presure...
The "GeNo Is bAd!!!1!" narrative is dumber than I'm intentionally trying to make it look.
Not with Geno
Cowboys,Eagles,Lions,Packers,Bucs or Saints,49ers,Rams.Only way Seattle gets in the playoffs is if these teams suffer significant set back injuries.
Saints arnt winning more that 4 games
@@matthewphillips5911 I agree more with the Falcons after they just acquired Simmons and Judon. It's gonna be a dog fight with those three teams though.
