Yeah, especially when you automated a brute-force method using multiple supercomputers and had to MANUALLY decode all of the signal pathways needed to accomplish even THIS much.
That's what I'm having done!! I haven't learned to code proffie but my friend is a wiz with that stuff so I bought a font package for it but the audio track just didn't combine all the elements that I felt gate activation needed.

It's just a budget think. Normally the gates move all chevrons. Just like Spacegates have 9 and not 8 chevrons yet in Atlantis S03-05 they have 8 because some animator fucked up and they didn't want to spend money for a new proper anomation
Interestingly enough, you could spin this as an SG1 budget challenge in addition to simplifying the computers dialing parameters. Playing around with my own 2d design while rewatching sg1. Still a good as ever.
i would much rather this the way of space travel than fucking flying out of our atmosphere. thats enough to give you a heart attack. atleast stargate is off the ground and immediate arrival at an alien destitation

Colin Brouillette... Ok, A, I know that. B, my comment had nothing to do with that. It's literally a complaint about terminology. NOTHING TO DO WITH THE AMOUNT OF CHEVRONS. C, I suspect this is because of my use of 'x.' I am aware that X is ten in Roman Numerals, but do you really think I would use it in a comment? It is an x as in a variable. The dialing of the gate is such an intense moment. It kept people on the edge of their seat. I love it

Stargate SG1 was a massive success. Good story, amazing actors, it was filmed in a right time where CGI was not too overdone.
I still rewatch this from time to time. As Jack says, it never gets old! :)
I always loved that closing stargate sound

Oh I love that sfx part of the gate😁
As if some massive gears shifting around, or some big bulk of energy about to release to establish the wormhole.
"Chevron seven... engaged?“
Man I love that line
2:05 It seems there was a bit of a power surge. As the wormhole disconnected all the lights in the room got brighter for a split second.
I think it's just a quirk of the glow post processing, but I'm not sure. It wasn't intentional at any rate.
Surge of power systems usually means systems capacitors are discharging fully.
this was the first stargate thing i ever saw
This is AWESOME! Great job! Thanks for sharing! :-)
Thanks! It was really fun to make.
They added the star gate dialing sequence to the dark saber 😂
Very smooth animation
a fantastic piece of animation very very well done and top notch
Thank you very much.
Can u try and do one of the atlantis stargate where earth dials in?

I much prefer the 1994 movie when the Stargate is activated because you see the emotions of the scientists, Jackson and the military.

Is there any chance of an updated 4.0 now that it's been 7 years.
Maybe one day. I've started learning Blender and may eventually do a 4.0 there.
The wormhole effect is especially good.

Why does only the top one move?
The Earth Stargate was like that in the show.
as protoborg said, that is the way the Stargate worked in the TV show.
Perry Thompson its manual dialing the earth gate doesn't have a DHD.
technically it did the one in Antarctica they repurpose and the Russian dhd they broke to get teal'c out of wormhole status.

Oh and D: 7 chevrons isn't a specifically Milky Way address. It's any address within the same galaxy as the outgoing gate.
Idiot the glyphs make the address and the chevrons are the lights and lock mechanism.hence Walter talking about and saying it's locked in place
