It’s been years and I’m still holding out hope for a 1st Person RPG Stargate game set in the hayday, and you’re part of like SG5 or something, taking on missions and exploring the SGC.
As long as I don’t have to remember gate addresses. I also heard a rumor that if you solve the puzzle at the end of the game, the Air Force comes to your house and abducts you.
There WAS a game like that in development but AFAIK they terminated the project, IDK why, though. But I'd love such a game too. But not being part of SG-5, I wanna be part of SG-1. 😁
What I have always loved about the Stargate in the SGC. It's actually manually dialing. The gate can automatically dial an address, each chevron locks sequentially, the dial doesn't move at all. But on Earth, we build a mechanical system to manually dial it, and the dial moves backwards or forwards depending on symbol distance to chevron. Such an Earth solution to a problem.
It's funny how a fella does this on his own, beautifully recreated, and a gaming studio, with the full push of the content creators manages to flop it so badly... it makes one sick just seeing it, let alone hearing it. (Talking about the new game in development).
Good stuff. The one thing I somewhat disliked in the actual show, and you can see this in every episode of SG-1, is how when the gate is dialed, the top chevron always wobbles a bit as it locks, and it's something you can't un-see once you notice it. It was a film prop of course, and had no real mass to keep it stable. It just made it slightly less awesome. This was fixed in SGA with the digital gate, though the SG-1 gates were by far cooler to see in operation. The digital gates can never match the sight of that ring actually spinning. It would be really cool to see modern day CGI do a stargate dial sequence with the original gates.
@@Outworlder yeah I thought that too. I suppose in the next show it's gonna spin in two axes like a gyroscope just to mess with us all. Who knows where the wormhole whoosh will point!
Awesome!. Everyything is great, except the event horizon and vortex looks nothing like the one from the show, and looks more shaped/rough/straight much less like a vortex of bubbly water (which is what the original is supposed to look/looks like) But I understand that this is some hard fluid dynamics. All the other details are very nice a true to their original :)
Thanks for the kind words! I am not 100% pleased with the vfx myself, but It was not the main focus and I couldn't spend much more time on it. Lots of compromises in the end but the overall result is something I am really proud of! Check out the other video and my website if you haven't already!
Man, I wish someone would make a Stargate game or mmo. Imagine a shooter/rpg/survival game where you are a character created Sg team and you are sent to a world where must explore, craft, interact with locals while discovering a plot to invade Earth or sometime.
I've been waiting for an Xcom style game for years. Instead of a base that you fly away from to do mission around Earth, it's the SGC and you go on away missions. Back in the SGC you manage research and upgrades. It's such an obvious idea, where the heck is it?
I'll have to break out my Stargate DVDs, because I thought all of the chevrons popped in and out, not just the top one. Then again it could be one of those Mandala things, because I haven't seen the show in ages.
Dialing sequence - 9/10. Opening the event horizon - 5/10. UE has never been meant for quality, so poor thing can't do better. But for the effort to recreate the Stargate - 20/10 cuz I love SG-1. 😁
To be honest I prefer this dialing sequence even over the original movie sequence. But where’s Chief Master Sergeant Harriman announcing the incoming wormhole? 😉
Hey, feel free to use this video on your stream as an intro, as long as you credit me via either this channel/video or my website. Thanks! PS. What is the link to your stream, if you dont mind?
Hey! I agree with you, this sequence was really rushed and I actually switched angles manually while recording because I did not want to do any editing in external software. :D. You can check out my other video or my website for a more "chill" look. Thanks!
Hearing the gate dial makes my brain release the happy chemicals
Dopamine, right?
It’s been years and I’m still holding out hope for a 1st Person RPG Stargate game set in the hayday, and you’re part of like SG5 or something, taking on missions and exploring the SGC.
I would kill for a game like that. I wish I had the skills to develop it myself
As long as I don’t have to remember gate addresses. I also heard a rumor that if you solve the puzzle at the end of the game, the Air Force comes to your house and abducts you.
There are a few add-ons for Gmod
There WAS a game like that in development but AFAIK they terminated the project, IDK why, though. But I'd love such a game too. But not being part of SG-5, I wanna be part of SG-1. 😁
I was imagining Walters voice going "Chevron one encoded.... Chevron seven locked!"
That’s Chief Master Sergeant Harriman to you.

Tau’ri problems require Tau’ri solutions
Really nice, love the event horizon at the end, would love to see more shots of the gate up and running.
Edit: Just found your project, really cool!
Thank you very much!
This is the best I have seen so far. Hats off!
Feels kinda naked without Walters screaming "UNSCHEDULED WORMHOLE ACTIVITY!"
UNSCHEDULED OFFWORLD ACTIVATION

Yes! This brings back my childhood 😌
My dude WOW!!!!! JUST WOW!!!!! Great job 👏 CGI is AMAZING!!!!!!!😳😲 man keep up the good work👏👍
I want my Star Gate video game already!
This makes me wish we had a Stargate SG-1 game.
It's funny how a fella does this on his own, beautifully recreated, and a gaming studio, with the full push of the content creators manages to flop it so badly... it makes one sick just seeing it, let alone hearing it. (Talking about the new game in development).
I mean theirs is good until the event horizon opens.
Best CGI Gate I saw in UA-cam. Wished that in Stargate Origins. Better As the Bad looking gate they made
Ugggh, don't get me started with how bad Origins was. Sadly I financially supported that monstrosity.
I would love to see an UE5 animation of Stargate. It would look spectacular. Unfortunately I didn’t see any accurate Stargate models on the market.
i like the sound when it moves then bangs
sick
That is awesome work well done would be awesome if you wanted to help with our project in Unreal
Thank you! I'm glad you like it. I'm really busy with work at the moment, but I wish you the best of luck!
The best job, better than others on youtube, Can we get now Pegasus gate type dial? (It would be grat to see whoole gate all the time)

They must have realized how cool a stargate spinning is, because on Universe they decided to spin the whole thing.
@@Outworlder yeah I thought that too. I suppose in the next show it's gonna spin in two axes like a gyroscope just to mess with us all. Who knows where the wormhole whoosh will point!
@@Immashift wow. A stargate spinning in a two axis gimbal would be exceedingly cool. A little Contact-ish but who's complaining

@@hannesbensryd2421 Thanks:) Yes, this animation certainly is well done.

If I recall correctly they all pop out in the feature film, but only the 7th top one does in the TV-Show.
Except for the error this is awesome.
but why did they dial up the coordinates for naboo?
Dialing sequence - 9/10.
Opening the event horizon - 5/10. UE has never been meant for quality, so poor thing can't do better.

Polecam
This is beautiful. Where did you get the SFX????
Thank you! All SFX are real and in game. I got most of them from a Stargate mod for Gmod, Carters Addon pack.
You used the wrong seventh symbol.
Yeees... Neew game!!!
It's too bad the trailer of the video game couldn't get the sound effects right.
Chevron 7, Locked!
To be honest I prefer this dialing sequence even over the original movie sequence.

15fps animation?
what planet is dialed here?
Is your Stargate project open source?
way to much angle changing/close ups
