And something that doesn't look like an AR clone with a little stick magazine in a giant oversized magwell. This looks like a perfect successor to the Beretta CX4 with greater than 8 round capacity. I might be buying another gun here.
@@atranimecs Yeah I've heard good things about Extar. Honestly with this kind of platform, I'd want a full length 16" barrel. I don't think that's available from Extar, but I may be wrong.
I have a Glock 41 and there is almost nothing out there that I like in the way of a PCC that works with 21/41 magazines. The few things I have found that I was interested in cost more money than I cared to spend, so this was a very welcome surprise! Thank you for this fantastic review! 👍👍👍
Saw the first one (only one) of these in the wild at a G show yesterday. Much nicer in person than I expected. Have never been first in line for a new model, but it came home with me. 😊
Just when I thought I wasn't going to purchase any more firearms for awhile, Ruger does this. Being a huge Ruger fan, and a 45 acp guy, I gotta get me one of these!
That was very smart for ruger to make something that accepts glock mags.... They just boosted up their sales by doing this. You have to appreciate the affordability/reliability of glock magazines.
For real. Biggest thing for me is the 5.7 is dope, but the lack of ability to run 30 round plus magazines is a serious consideration. Glock mags were a great idea.
The magazine reliability is what kept semiautomatic pistols from becoming popular. Yes. I’m that old. But once perfected they really took off. Glock Perfection. Yeah maybe. You know you have a good product when the industry grows and thrives because of it. Does it matter what it is? Or who makes it? They work. And everyone is benefiting.
Excellent as always! Tell tale watching those steel plates on that tree snap back around so convincingly ! I would have liked to have seen that with the 5.7 carbine just for comparison. Thank you
Well now this is a very interesting video and a very interesting carbine. I just bought one of these about 3 weeks ago and it was extremely hard to find around here. I called my local gun shop and ask if they had one in stock. To my amazement I was informed that they just got their first one that same day. So I informed him that I would be right there and I purchased it after just briefly looking it over. The Ruger LC 45 ACP carbine is a great rifle. Since the caliber is 45 ACP it is a perfect host for my suppressor. The only thing that I don't care for is the trigger is a little bit heavy.
You're the second person to say that it's a heavy trigger. This video shows the pull to be 5.5lbs with a guage. "I" don't consider 5lbs to be a heavy pull, but everybody has their preference. The other person said if felt like 8-9lbs but didn't have a gauge.
Agreed! I want a shorter barrel. I get the ballistics all these 10mm fan boys go on about but its HARD to beat the ole 45acp round. Would make a terrific truck gun
Don't wait too long. I think Ruger went with the LC grip feed to be compliant with future 'imperial entanglements'. The lefties have several times gone after pistols that load in front of the trigger instead of the grip. Those magazines are deadlier out there, its a feature. It would ban a 9mm Charger, but an Uzi would be OK. Lib-logic. I think the .22LR and 9mm will be the only Chargers. ☹ I hope I'm wrong. Otherwise, I would have expected a 10mm Charger by now. Thanks for nothing, Killafornia.
I watched an interview with a Ruger Rep from the Shot Show. The area directly in front of the trigger is due to having to increase the receiver length to accommodate the 45 ACP bolt. The small picantinny rail there is just a filler. It doesn’t serve any real purpose he said. 🙂
This is sweet really nice rifle, Wonder if anyone's gonna be sending there barrel away for a 460 Rowland conversion, 10mm is probably imminent for release,
It looks cool and fun, which is what PCCs are built for. No, pressure to be the best for hunting, home defense for competition - just the most fun to plink in the yard or the range.
I hope they bring it out in BEST millimeter. Ruger told me, after they brought out the PC Carbine, that they were going to bring it out in BEST millimeter, but they never did.
I saw Hickock 45 shooting that same gun with a suppressed version today! It was so quiet! Been both your sub’s for years and years!!! Your blooper’s at the end are always the BEST!!!
The way the grip module is designed, it looks like a .45 acp pistol to match it is in the works to me. I wouldn't mind one of these lc45s in my collection. Might be a good carry option on the back end of my property.
I was going to go with the Stibog SP10...but it takes UMP pattern mags, VERY hard to find !!! ALSO, loading mags into the grip, makes your 16" carbine, about the same size as a 8-10" mag forward design...much better velocity of course.
The patch of pic rail in front of the trigger guard is for a light on the Charger variant. I guess they didn't want to bother blanking it off on the carbine.

Great option in 45acp! I agree for a home defense, vehicle, or get back home gun. That thing begs for a suppresser! A sweet setup!
Oh yeah. I've been looking for naturally subsonic pcu that can be suppressed. 45ACP!!
Totally agree. I never really have wanted a suppressor until this carbine.
This is a welcome development! I've been waiting on a 45 carbine from a decent company that takes Glock mags for so long ..

Why a 10mm in this platform?----If you need to go further than 75 yards, get a 7.62 X 39.

Because it's more powerful than a 9mm under 50 yards. With lighter recoil than the x39.

Now you're talkin. It's about time. Any guess of the feet per second? Isn't 860 feet per second rated for a pistol?
I can’t imagine you’re getting a whole lot of extra velocity with the 16” barrel. 9mm stops gaining velocity around 8-10”
Manufacturers typically test with a 5 inch barrel. Going from 5 to 16 inches, you can expect a 12 to 15% increase in fps
I think around 994fps with 230 grain
Has a lot more kick or bounce than expected, but it looks good 👍🏻
It's a blowback 45, it's gonna recoil worse than an AR or AK.
@franktalarico689 it looks like it kicks more than my 1911's
