    I bought an 07 brand new and wish I still had it! Such a fun little car! The catalytic converter went out at 25k miles and the fuel pump at 50k...kind of sucked. Other than that, loved it.

      Still have mine since then and works like a beauty! Must be the different mechanism for each car then... cause I am rock solid at 150k miles and still going lol

      @@stevefares7846 Probably...it was a fantastic car though and very safe! I was even in a very serious accident on the freeway in it. An SUV changed lanes into me and sent me spinning across 4 lanes of freeway. Several cars were involved. I was completely uninjured and my Solstice was the only car that was able to drive away. Just a little damage to the side! I kind of want another one now, haha.

      @@Squeaks281 They are definitely worth it, affordable, and nice! You don't know how many people praise my Solstice... I low key feel like I have a hybrid between a Porsche and a Ferrari ahaha. Lets be honest, if the Pontiac logo was not on there in the front or back, and there was a Ferrari logo on there, nobody would know the difference. I pretty much have a Ferrari for only $5000 instead of $1500000 hahaha. I am glad you are ok though! If you can get one, get one! They are getting more rare and expensive nowadays!

    I have a Solstice for my weekend toy. One correction to this video, no even for a convertible, the trunk space is pretty small. I purchase a luggage rack which I only use for longer distance multiday trips.

    I hate seeing people that don't know what they are doing with my car, first you need a manual transmission to enjoy this car, don't pull the top with one hand you will break the dam thing lilf with both hands front and back it slides right in used key fob to open the top, I have a 06 base I can tell you how you can out run almost any car not from takeoff but on the expessway guaranteed nothing to add.

      GOOP will fix that. Just squeeze it (tube) under the edge off the canvas top onto the glass. I have a bunch of neodymium magnets I arranged around the window (one on the inside and one outside the vehicle). Did mine six months ago and it seems like it's as good or better than the factory glue. I sat in the trunk to glue the window, and holds up to pressure washer no more leaks.

      @tastymm9874 2 роки тому

      @@miguelnevarez4305 turns out it wasn't the trans. The rear axel was snapped which gave the impression of a bad clutch and trans. I paid for a new clutch just to find out the installed it incorrectly. So in total I really only needed a 50$ axel, but because of the shop and my bluntness, it costed about $2700 in repairs. Anyways the solstice is one hell of a car. I bought mine for 2200 and fixed it up and it drives like a charm.

    Base = Not so fun. Base and Automatic = Even less fun. All Solstice and Skys with auto should come with GXP or Redline trim only. Otherwise it's pretty much a waste of a beautiful that only looks sporty. I love my 5 speed but not don't hate autos just not with an engine that doesn't match the car.

      I must have missed that in the Owner's Manual , Yeah, that's why NASCAR and everybody else are still driving sticks LOL, get with the times, nobody that is serious about driving uses a stick anymore except Old people in their 70's or Millennials that think they are cool. Automatics far out perform Manuals nowadays, soon All Electrics will replace that, like I said, Get with the times.

    • @HillBilly-1

      The times are going that way because most people cry when you tell them they have to actually drive to achieve those numbers they saw in the catalog.

    • @BalaHormiga
      @BalaHormiga 3 роки тому +1

      @@HillBilly-1 Not really! You can take an awesome driver and put him in a manual car and the equivalent in a new automatic and get much better times in the automatic. Manuals deliver a more visceral feel and allow the driver more control. But you can no longer point to a performance improvement with manual. In fact as I recall the automatic Solstice GXP out performed the manual version . Having owned both a GXP in manual and auto I can say the auto was in fact quicker but is far less satisfying to drive. I prefer the manual--except in heavy traffic --LOL.

    • @HillBilly-1
      @HillBilly-1 3 роки тому

      @@BalaHormiga missed my point. Awesome driver in a slow car can beat crappy driver that has a much faster car. Auto might be faster but requires little to no skill. I want to be fast because of my skill. My cavalier has beat many cars that should have walked away from me but they couldn't drive a manual as good as they thought they could.

    • @BalaHormiga
      @BalaHormiga 3 роки тому

      @@HillBilly-1 True. Autos make up, to some extent for drivers lack of skill, shifting or knowing what gear to be in etc.
