One of the first tincture classes i ever remember attending was about yarrow. I have noticed that i have seen yarrow in many instances around the US and it seems like a resilient and widely available plant. Thank u for sharing Rosemary. ❤
Finally, someone who points out that fevers while sick are important. I've been watching a lot of herbal videos and time after time I've heard about different herbs that lower fever and I keep thinking why would you do that? Our body heats up to kill whatever is ailing you. If you lower the fever it can't do this. Of course you don't want it to get too high but this usually doesn't happen anyways.
If you have an infected wound then lowering the fever can be important to not allow the brain to become injured but a normal fever from sickness is different.

thanks for the info on making yarrow leaf powder! i grow yarrows of all colors here in Iowa as perennials, i have dark purple, lavender, pink, yellow, and the wild white. White seems to be a much smaller plant then the colorful ones. It is so easy to take cuttings of in the Spring, one plant has turned into about 50 by me just pulling out a section of the plant with some root attached and replanting the piece in early spring when it is still a small mound. Propagating our beloved yarrows is one of the first jobs of the season for us. It is one of the first plants to come up in Spring and that makes it easily outgrow the weed competition and grow into a huge bush with no effort on my part. The colored yarrows are some of the most beautiful flowers out there- especially dried.

Hi there! All yarrows besides white and light pink are the same species, they just have been selectively grown to change the color of the flowers. I would suggest using the variety that is native to your region :)
Hi there! From what I've heard from botanists we work with, all yarrow is medicinal but white yarrow is the traditional plant and all other colors of yarrow have been crossbred to change the flower color. I hope that helps!

Just gathered some I THINK...but in researching found there's a lookalike called poison hemlock...yikes, so now need to check stem, purple is poison, or is it queen Anns lace...ugh this isn't easy
Hi there! I would suggest looking up photos of the leaves of each as well. Yarrow is called "millefolium" meaning "a thousand leaves." Yarrow has a main stem with many small frilly leaves. Hemlock leaves are broader and look a little more like parsley. As always, be careful when wildharvesting and do not use any plant that you have not properly and confidently identified.
@@mountainroseherbs its definitely NOT hemlock, certain there...the leaves ARE too fine and not parsley like...so at least I got that pert right, and I did compare THAT feature, So thank you immensely!💗

Without knowing what the plant looks like is dangerous because there’s a few similar looking plants that are extremely dangerous. I will have to now look at another video to get an idea of what the actual plant looks like.
I have a suggestion. Firstly, when using dry beans, replace the water 2 or 3 times completely during cooking. It will make you able to eat them gas-free. If canned, they are usually more gassy but rinsing them will help. For an herbal recomendation, I would suggest summer savory - it is a great stomach soother. Another option is easily found and cheap - ginger (can buy dried in capsules)
