Somewhere in the southern countryside of Portugal there sits a long forgotten house…
Preserved for decades, the beloved home of a family, condemned by ill health.
It remains as it did the day they left, suspended in time…

Loved this guys and loved that Jess found the photos of how it used to look, and the pictures of the couple who's house it was, wonder what happened to them, and for all there stuff to just be left like that, great explore guys well done 👍🤘💖
Pictures may have been to insurance purposes.
@@glendamaphis3995 That, and maybe to potentially sell the place.
I can't help but to wonder where are they what happened to them. To just vanish and leave everything behind. As if they've just disappeared into the Earth. It's quite scary. But at the same time so sad. To be able to go into this time capsule and see who they were. It's quite amazing.
Could be bankruptcy. Some properties are too expensive to repair or maintain they try to sell but no one interested so it's left to rot away until someone wants it for land. But then there are outstanding back taxes which make it impossible. All countries should do away with back taxes just to enable the land and or building to be used again,
Maybe death
All those amazing antiques are worth a fortune. Can’t believe they’re all left there to decay. Breaks my heart such a waste
The artwork on the wall with the two boys at the fireplace is called After the Bath by an artist named Paul Peel from my hometown in Ontario Canada. Funny it's in a house in Portugal. Small world.
I loved how all the windows have a seat on each side. OMG the house was endless, it's so odd what was taken and what was left behind, I wonder if they took it or someone else, why would they worry about paintings and leave their teeth and clothes. they looked so happy in the photos, what the hell happened to them? and where are the children? Not to sound like your mother, please wear a mask the mold is bad, and the paint chips are probably lead based. This could cause a lot of health problems later in life. Love you stay safe and well.
Please DO wear masks!
The craftmanship that has gone into that trunk at the entrance is amazing. Very sad indeed to think this was probably a happy family home. Its all very interesting.
Just discovered you guys...so nice you are respectful
I’m always fascinated by the layouts of the Portuguese homes. There’s so many bedrooms in these places and I’m envious of all their storage space! Thank you very much for another interesting explore!! X
WOW! That was an amazing video of an astonishing House in Portugal! What a Great Find and a Sad Ending of a Family That once owned a mixture of Beauty,And Rare Furniture and Pictures,etc........ You Chose a Beautiful Song for the Background 👍🏼🔔😍❤️ Again Thank You for another Educational Video 😊
Another great video guys . The furniture is beautiful all the carvings it would be so beautiful if it were all renovated 💙❤️
Great blue and white tiles, dark wood beds and dressers. Very country house. Lovely family. Big carved chest. It looked as if someone had begun to replaster and repaint walls. Thank you, this was another beauty of Portugal.
PLEASE ENUNCIATE YOUR WORDS CORRECTLY, WORDS ENDING WITH ,"ING"ARE NOT ENUNCIATED AS "IN". THE WORD IS "PAINTING," not "PAINTIN". I want to watch your videos, but, it is so hard to take your mis-use og proper gramer.
TRAMADOL - for all those people saying its an awful "drug" and addictive, opiates cause DEPENDENCY in people that need them, mostly chronic pain patients like me! Its actually only used for moderate to severe pain, its rarely strong enough for someone who has a good hard case of arthritis, or lupus, for example. ADDICTION is a separate issue, of a person who needs STRONGER AND STRONGER doses, constantly, to achieve a high. Most pain patients do not experience a high, because the pain eats it all up.
It’s so sad that people work hard all their lives for what they have only to have it left behind to rot. I guess the old saying is “you can’t take it with you” is so true. Good find Sam & Jess. Thank you.
What are these people doing messing around with other people things? They bought the house or are just trespassing? In Portugal we don't like this. From Portugal, Míriam
Absolutely beautiful!! Favorite ever will always be the grotto home for me. Thanks for all you guys do! And safe travels!
Another absolute treasure and the usual perfect tour by the best explorers of all time. Thanks so much.
The bathrooms stink because the p traps have dried up and are letting sewer gases into the house.
Tramadol is a pretty strong painkiller. sucks to need them.
Because of the books and various cultures represented , not to mention the amazing marble fireplace ,tiles .intriguing carved furniture , I believe this is my favorite explore. The pictures are wonderful. Oh no 🦷! What a story it has to tell, and I would love to know more.
I bet that beautiful home held 3 generations of the family. Antiques galore. Makes me a little sad the home and furniture are abandoned. So much energy. Respectful explorers. Thank you for sharing your adventure.
Photos on the bed are in great condition. Doesn’t match the surroundings…how
So many abandoned homes right across the world. Where have all these people gone.
Sigh, another Gem 💎 found, I'm very curious about the house 🏠 and it's history.
Have a lovely Saturday, my Dear Sam&Jess.

Late watching your videos. I've been knuckle deep in paints. Working on a horse at the moment an 3 more to go with it.

John Castle
Portugal
1939 - 1999
Artist biography
John Castle was a visual artist, John Castle was born in 1939 and died in 1999. Artists born in the same year and of the same generation are Marc Egger, Robert Lostutter, Anne Courjaret, Ricardo Bofill, and Patrick Bertrand.
Further Biographical Context for John Castle
Born in 1939, John Castle was largely influenced by the 1950s growing up. Abstract Expressionism prevailed in the 1950s as a chief method of painting, and explored ideas concerning the sublime and spirituality. Artists endeavoured to focus on painting’s formal properties, and Action Painting took inspiration from the political freedoms of the United States, in opposition to the strictures of the Soviet bloc. Significant artists of this period included Jackson Pollock, Willem de Kooning, Mark Rothko, Frank Kline, Barnett Newman, Clyfford Still and Adolph Gottlieb. In later revisions, the contributions and efforts of female artists such as Lee Krasner, Joan Mitchell, and Louise Bourgeois have been recognised, amongst many other female creatives.
The cabinet in the dining room where you were looking at books, I ran back 3 times to catch the face on the doors it looked like an Aztec money face.
what a shame its the end of the series..loved every episode..thanks you two
Probably had servants and that’s why so many bedrooms and bathrooms. 👍
I never get tired of watching these videos. Love them. Can't believe how people can just leave this stuff behind
That was beautiful. Especially the carved furniture and the pictures of the house. I loved all of the Portugal series. Thank you
photos to sell house ?
The chests in this place are beautiful. the woodwork is fantastic. It is a shame that this is going back to nature. Thank you for the tour which was very fantastic. lean on God
That lump of stuff that looked like amber was probably rosin for putting on a violin bow.
I don't know how you two find such beautiful homes that are just frozen in time. The tile work always amazes me. Thank you for sharing everything with us!
So Sorry. I did it again. Watching now looks good. Will watch then comment! 🤗💜
What a place. That fire place is out of this world. And the photo of the couple lounging in front of same fireplace. Blimey fancy leaving all that beautiful furniture behind.
Superb find guys. Enjoyed muchly! Thank you 💜🤗🤗💜
water evaporates in toilet which allows sewer pipe to vent and stink the bathroom out.
Rooms shaped oddly.
Mind-blowing beautiful, with so many beautiful memories and furniture 💕 😍!
That wooden box, with the Chinese carving, is worth a lot of money, but only if it's in a great condition, no molt.
What a family history ,and all the beautiful bookcases, woodwork furniture ❤.
Another great candidate for the future B&B, do you agree?
Thank you my Dear Friends Sam&Jess ,what a discovery this was, I absolutely Love it.
Have a lovely Weekend together.
Hugs and a Sloppy Doggy Kiss from us:Anne&Harry from nearby Amsterdam, Holland 🇳🇱.
🖐🐾🐾❤❤❤❤🙏❤❤❤✌👍👍👍👍👍😘
That mansion was just stunning.
I took a screenshot of that beautiful '72? Citroën DS-21 sedan with aftermarket convertible conversion rotting away. The most innovation car ever if you only knew all of it's unique features that will never be used again. French engineering genius of the highest order. I had the '72 Red & Grey Safari Wagon for work & pleasure in San Francisco 40 years ago. Miss it dearly. Always wanted to have the modded cabriolet or even feel the softer ride of the lower pressure rear sphere suspension. The wagon looks most like a spaceship which was jaw droppin to me when 1st sawr one.
Who owns it now🤔
Watching content like this gives me surreal wander vibes 👍🏼🤝🤜🏼🤛🏼👌🏽👊🏽✊🏽🙌🏼
The woodwork on some of that furniture was pretty amazing!!!
I really love watching you guys but I really wish you would stop using the name Jesus Christ as a swear word. :( you guys are so respectful of the places you visit but you use his name as a cuss word SO much. It spoils the entire video for me.. :(
That book said BLACK AND WHITE . IT WAS FROM THE HOLY LAND . BLACO Y NEGRO . LA TIERRA SANTA .
What an amazing explore! The furniture was beautiful! Loved that you found the pictures that showed what it look like when the family lived there. Funny though that all of there clothes were left there including the false teeth! Loved the Portugal series both 1and 2💕💕💕❤️❤️
Nice song for you!Thievery corporation-Riches Man in Babylon🤙🍻
My guess based on the religious items, the Bible, and the calling cards is that this was a missionaries house and it goes to show the massive profit people actually make off of collecting money for missionary trips.
I think the woman died first. She died of cancer (I've seen wigs). The man died 4 to 5 years after the woman (more his clothes than hers). Their children stayed there for a couple of years before they went abroad (for good).
Very cool 😎 you guys always find the epic places looking forward to the next
Another great explore. Always fascinates me the amount of bedrooms in these places. Thanks for what you do for our entertainment
The medication found was given to patients with terminal cancer and the lung xray showed the terminal cancer.
What a shame!! I don’t understand why the districts do t reclaim and auction off tje antiquities etc to put towards community foodbanks etc.
We watch your videos for entertainment not to waste our time, pls stop going through books magazines etc, you are wasting our time, there are tons of other channels to watch with same content, so pls stop going through books, and the guy shakes and moves the camera a lot, bad video graph of guy, but girl has better shooting skills of the video.
Tramadol is a type is a centrally actioning opioid agonist and SNRI. Related to codeine & morphine.
Do you guys research any of these homes. Especially why they would just abandon them?!
Amazing house, shame it's left to rot and the furniture is awesome xx
I would check with the town hall and find out if someone still owns it....maybe relatives. So sad to see so much left behind, doesn't make sense
the black car is a collector car a DS convertible geeee and you guys did not wear masks to many fungus
Camera stopped and thought I heard the Jess using the F word twice 🤭 doh bother me but some it might 🤭
At 25:13 is an old school diploma named after Olivia Henriques da Cunha
Hey did anyone else hear the strange sounds in the background?
I mos.def. Heard some strange sounds.
Loved this explore. Thanks for letting me tag along.
I made a proposal to y'all in another video and I still want to do it. I am dying and would like to do a video set while I'm alive and after I'm gone would love to see if y'all can contact me in the afterlife
That X-ray explains the need for the Tramadol....an opioid pain reliever for moderate to severe pain.
Such a lovely house but again a shame it’s been left to rot! If the houses around this one are the children’s, I wonder why they’re just leaving this house to rot??!!
I just smoked a joint in dedicated to y'all. I love y'all and love your videos the most out of any other.
I have taken photos of my home / possessions like that for insurance purposes. I know I wouldn't remember all the useless t*ss I have! Could be trying to figure out who wants what in the will, too.
It’s amazing they left behind the cabinet full of books. That thing is old. Look at the hinges. Shame it’s going to rot away.
That book looks Turkish.Love the shape of that leather chair. That looked like a large chunk of amber.
Lov the vlog Margaret parker hi jess and Sam
What's the acoustic song name at 2:05 and on? Sounds like Masayoshi Soken
what happened to the family??is there no idea what happened to them? are they vanished with no evidence?
The painting could be James casil if so it could be a valuable painting and should be rescued then sold and the money put back into the property to make it secure and preserved
But another great video guys xx
They proberly left in a hurry so sad strange they never returned maybe they are dead who knows
I love the furniture in that house, which country is that? Good video
Wow amazing home
Wonderful reporting
I find it really strange that there are so many abandoned homes and left with valuables . its so sad .
I love that house.... SOOOO I'ma need y'all to take me there😂
Obviously a middle eastern family? OR MAYBE Turkish given all the tile or Iranian or Iraqi.
And world traverlers.
Question: Why do homes in Europe not have closets?
Tramadol is for pain. Comes orally and in injection form.
Maybe the pictures were taken for insurance purposes.
There may have been extended family all living together.
J. Castle paintings auction between 4k to 40k

BEAUTIFUL FURNITURE, SOMEONE SHOULD SAVE IT.
Thank you for showing us. We are grateful
I believe those were old radios from the 1940's or maybe late 1930's
Me gustan tus videos pero no tiene sustitulos en español
Love from Bangladesh 💞🥰
Pictures are probably for insurance.
Would squatters rights apply lol?
Awesome find! Loved this one guys!
Incredible episode and a wonderful location once again brother 💪🏻
I don't think it is though because it's way too big.
Loved the Whole Portugal Series but this one showed some of the Best Cabinets & Hand Carved Chests!...Well done on these Explores Sam&Jess!...TY!...Stay Safe & Take Good Care!...👍🤗🌹!...
Husqvarna should be swedish ... never saw a sewing machine by them 😲
Husqvarna made sewing machines, vacuums. Chain saws and motorbikes.
You are so respectful to every item on the property.
I'm getting a real eery feeling from this place 💕
It’s because all the windows are shuttered and the furniture is heavy and dark. It would look and feel completely different with the shutters open. Imagine the parties they had there.
