Any chance we get ranked streams or vids? I just enjoy 4v4 more content wise and playing wise. You also get the best reactions from ranked and almost everyone has mics... anyways just wondering.
Your ww2 ranked stream ranked sweaty tryhard whatever was recommended to me for years and I think probably came up on my autoplay 50 times... so I know ranked play can be popular on your channel, but maybe you don't enjoy it that much.

I feel like we have had very similar trajectories and experiences and have done this YT game for around the same amount of time, so what you said resonated a lot with me. There are a lot of pressures that people don't realise are there, but I've personally been able to let go of those over this last year. There are plenty of things I could do to help continued growth such as make short content, but I made the decision not to. I think a big stress reliever is realising you have to plan some next steps after YT and give yourself options. If you can do this whilst you're still full-time then it alleviates a lot of the stress and worrying. It's a luxury though; sometimes you have to rely on good timing.

As a creator, I fully agree. Before I became a creator, I thought "man, youtubers have it so easy.. they just upload, and make bags"... oh boy was i wrong. the amount of mental strain that comes from being a creator is bonkers. Everything you said, is completely true (aside from hiring attorneys to go over contracts. I havent run into that yet, even after being partnered with Samsung and Google). I dread the day I actually need to hire one lol. As far as thinking of videos to make, that part might be the hardest one.
all-in-all I believe being a creator is/can be the highest paid job in ratio to the amount of work you do - but its inconsistent, drains you mentally, gives you depression, and instead of enjoying your days off - youre stuck thinking of the next video ...and the one after that... and the one after that.

This shows a lot to people who are thinking about starting a channel or some who have been doing it for a while and wonder what the future is like. I myself have 2 channels that are for beats and uploaded every day for years which led to the burnout. To succeed, you have to constantly be on call, talking to suppliers and customers. Logistics, marketing. Can't go out with friends in case I get a call or a text. I love your content. When youre building a channel or a brand or a subscriber base you have to grind. Those that dont learn to transition from a grind to a life once they get to a liveable income, are doomed to become burnt out. Youve built your brand, you dont HAVE to work every day, you choose to. You could designate many tasks and you could shorten your stream time and you could double up videos for a week, release half and have the next week completely off with vids to post.
Dont stress for brand new ideas for content so much, what you do regardless of what you choose is why we all love you. Your skill at the game and commentary are priceless. You can do the same thing over and over and we will still be here. Sure you may have some ebbs and flows of subscribers, that comes with the territory but thats why you save money and plan for that.
I know I used to work 100hr weeks minimum building my company, now I shoot for half that and hoping to half again in the next two years.
I love your analyze a random vids! Do more of those! Do different stuff, different games once in awhile, change it up like that.
Dont ever be concerned that so and so already did that or of jumping on the algorithm bandwagon... wtf thats the gd game of life man! F the haters and trolls 😂
Take your cod skills and apply them to real life, I am certain you could make it into something that isnt so overbearing and burning you out.

I follow this channel for the updates, the laughs, and the breakdowns. I see a number of your videos that breaks down each of your attachments and what each means, I love those. Oddly, I don't play S&D, but I love watching them. I learn new tricks. You invest hours and hours and I don't so I have to pick up things quicker. I have a decently high KD (1.9) If it wasn't for watching your channel, I'd be much lower. If there was something I'd like to see, is better categorization .. a section on each rifle.. map.. etc. I'd go back and watch the older. I don't think I've missed a single upload in the last 2 years. The attitude toward common sense is something I very much relate to.

Been watching you for years now and I appreciate your content you put out! I deff don’t understand what “UA-camrs” have to go through in order to make a living but it’s almost a routine to get home from work and watch your recent upload. Thank you for giving us content to unwind with at the end of the day!👍👍

If I was you Marksman, I would get together with blametruth and some other OG's and all of you guys do a low budget fps game. You guys are extremely informed in the genre and I humbly think you guys need a big major decision to rejuvenate the entire genre.
Btw, I quit MW23 more than a month ago, I could not take more of the dead, artificial and robotic feeling and atmosphere of the game.
    Much respect mi hombre. Peace!

Anxiety is a serious problem if they do not have the mental capacity you do to be this honest and open about it, it is why I am still subbed to you, I can listen to you all the time when you are talking about facts. You are one of the greatest on here, Nick Marksman, you are amazing.

a bit off topic marksman but talking about your business, when you are interacting with the lobby, have funny reactions or conversations with other people or own trashtalkers and let us hear their reaction, i noticed those videos have way more engagement especially the last part i mentioned.

A very good video that shares the internal issues successful UA-cam folks deal with. I just recently started to get back into and it's changed from when I started in MW2.
Just the amount of work that's need to be done is crazy. I got one subscriber this past week and popped the champagne.
I've followed you since BO2. You're the only COD gameplay I watch that isn't for information like XclusiveAce.
One day I hope to crack into YT doing my own thing and to get a few games in with you.
I hope you continue making content you enjoy and even if you do fishing, I'd watch it cause you're just a cool guy.

I have been making videos for 10 years and I never became successful. I just enjoyed recording myself playing games and talking about it like I already had a big audience to make it feel like I wasn’t alone. It was so much fun, but after a while I kept doing the same thing over again. I started burning out a lot and had to take a break until I got in the mood to make a video again.

The same can be said for ANY self owned small business. I'm a General Contractor that builds small housing developments, I have to deal with EVERYTHING you have to, but in addition to what you have to deal with I also have to deal with insurance companies for workers comp insurance, banks for loans, building inspectors, real estate agents, and an army of sub-contracted trades people like Plumbers, Electricians, Roofers, Siders, Framers, Drywallers, Painters, and Trim Carpenters. I know your pain, and then some. With that being said I make close to 7 figures/year, so the payoff is worth the bullshit that I have to deal with.

I took two years off from work (GI bill) to pursue UA-cam. Or at least that’s what I thought I wanted. I chose to keep it as a hobby when I realized all this last year.
I pray you take some more time for yourself and those you care for brotha. Life is short.

Probably most of the jobs are romanticized. Even a director from a big company or something. You’re willing to get the paycheck, but are you willing to take the extra work and responsibilities? Same goes for UA-cam, and as you mentioned, it gets even harder since you got to deal with a lot of variables that are out of your control when dealing with an audience

Marksman, I appreciate videos like these and think it’s very important to make them bcuz whether people vaguely knew or have no idea need to be reminded or told that this is the reality of working for yourself regardless of if it’s UA-cam or you creating your own business. There’s absolutely no days off until you can afford to hire, contract or delegate and even then you feel the need to be present at all times. But in the end it is worth it if for experience alone or money. I always love the vids Marksman, take care

There are a few reasons why most want to become UA-camrs/Streamers.
    1. You get paid to play games (obviously, you went more into so I'm not gonna bother to)
    2. If you can land a deal more so if you're a streamer, then you are now set to retire. Essentially, being in the right place at the right time.
Most will end up not even getting views either and a quick look on Twitch, and you'll see streams upon streams of people with 1 viewer.

Marksman, I just watched this video from start to finish and as someone whose passion is fitness, it hit me hard when you talked about the physical toll it's taking on you. I can't tell you how important it is for you to take a few hours per week to do some physical work in the gym. It's so important for your mental and physical health, especially as a man. I'd be happy to guide you. Just like you've been YTing for people for over a decade, I've been guiding people for two decades. Just felt compelled to comment and offer.
