Lyrics:
And where, where, where is my Gypsy wife tonight
I've heard all the wild reports, they can't be right
But whose head is this she's dancing with on the threshing floor
Whose darkness deepens in her arms a little more
And where, where is my Gypsy wife tonight?
Where, where is my Gypsy wife tonight?
Ah the silver knives are flashing in the tired old cafe
A ghost climbs on the table in a bridal negligee
She says, "My body is the light, my body is the way"
I raise my arm against it all and I catch the bride's bouquet
And where, where is my Gypsy wife tonight?
Where, where is my Gypsy wife tonight?
Too early for the rainbow, too early for the dove
These are the final days, this is the darkness, this is the flood
And there is no man or woman who can't be touched
But you who come between them will be judged
And where, where is my Gypsy wife tonight?
Where, where is my Gypsy wife tonight?
I am 70 years old, a "fan" of Leonard Cohen for fifty years. I still visit him in the evenings, I still visit him in dreams. He plays for me. He helps me write my song. He prods me to write upon "too white paper with thin ink" and his genius lives forever.
Amen 🙏
Hello Janice.Nuala
you sound lovely. I met Leonard in Dublin when I was 17
We met up. Innocent
I always loved him
Irish people have an innocent quality.
Really i am 34 and i am his fan
Was never into any Lenore on till I did scuitley
I am 22 years of age and I thank the generation of my parents and grands for the culture where such geniuses like Leonard could develop -- truly a Golden age
Spot on ,RAY TWELVE STRINGS U.K
You, young man, will have a blessed life because of your appreciation of beauty.
god blees YOU..
Yes it was...may you do your best to show today's generation that artists like Leonard Cohen are way better than the average ones on the radio. Lyrics that swear constantly, promote drug use, reckless behaviour, violence and degrade women to be smutty and strippers needs to be outlawed. Go play that in a private club not in mainstream culture. We need to hear pure artistry like this.
Always great to see such appreciation!
One of the greatest poets of all times. Somehow he found words that no one else used.
Yes.
I agree with you leonard great poet the big trobador r.i.p
His voice and lyrics saved me countless times while I loved in New York in the 70's,80's, 90's He was an angel incarnated, God bless his soul.
Pure genius that was Leonard Cohen. He had so much charisma on stage and off. An artist and poet. RIP you beautiful man .you are at peace with your god
Je suis bien d'accord un artiste ♥️♥️♥️😍
A prophet!
A bard
A holy order of the druids
Utterly brilliant. This was not an act or a performance this was Leonard Cohen the human being.
He was brilliant, sensitive and charming as well as a poet with great delivery. Unique.
One of the most amazing artists humanity will ever know. Anyone who has been touched by his music feels emptiness knowing he has departed us in body, but not spirit. I do hope to meet him in the next life and thank him for helping me through some of my darkest hours in this one. RIP Leonard you are deeply missed and remembered by all of your fans.
G.O.A.T.
Leonard Cohen might be more my parents' generation, but his music, lyrics and voice have still made him my favorite singer.
How amazing is this band of his? You're moved to tears even before he's sung a word.
That bandurria melody is so sublime, it resonates a sound of longing for the soul of someone you deeply loved most and miss most from your life even if she did not become your wife in the end...
בכל פעם מחדש , לשמוע את השיר מעביר צמרמורת , מנגינה מדהימה ומילים נוגעות.
💜🤍🖖
My favourite singer, adore all his songs, my best one is DANCE ME TO THE END OF LOVE, attended his last concert before he died...may he R.I.P.
wouldn't that be a perfect first dance at a wedding 'dance me to the end of love.'
👏 THIS is so beautiful to me on many different levels! It’s the soft, soothing, smooth voice of Cohen who doesn’t really ‘sing’ but seems to ‘speak’ the words, along with the instrumental solos, background female vocalists/choir, and the lyrics themselves. I’m 70ish but only recently began to listen and appreciate the music of Leonard Cohen, incl. Hallelujah, Boogie Street, and many others, esp from this 👍 London concert!
Even the members of his orchestra are so Divine, just like Leonard ❤️😍. There will never be another like him. He is unique and an enigma.
RIP Dear Leonard in heaven. You have made millions of people happy.🌈👍🌺❤️
His voice and lyrics saved me so many times while I lived in NYC in the 70's, 80's 90's. He was an angel incarnated... God Bless these special souls.
His music accompanied me through my whole life. But it wasn't before he had to go on tour again, and my husband insisted on inviting me to his concert, in Amsterdam, then to 5 or 6 other concerts. Thanks to him we had our best evening of music ever, in Belgium.
Cohen wrote poetry in music, every word well considered, music too, I love it, it moves me a lot, real life, lived, without hypocrisy, frank, brilliant, it deserved the Nobel Prize, in my opinion ♥️🎤♥️🎸♥️💫💯😘🌹I really like the voice, low notes and others, way of interpreting, great, fantastic ♥️
I love the purity of Leonard. I am so glad he toured the last few years. He was and is a global treasure. Thanks so much for sharing his amazing life! KANSAS USA
I’m just happy I have this concert on dvd, and this is one of the best live performances I’ve ever seen in my life, the harmony between the band is extremely high, they all outdid themselves
I was privileged to see LC in concert in Prague in 2009 and I was so impressed by the respect the musicians had for him. It was a deeply spiritual experience.
Jak dobrze że twoja asystentka cię okradła .. wyszedłeś z zakonu i dałeś nam tyle szczęścia .za chmur popatrzysz na nas słuchających twoich pieśni , nasze szczęśliwe twarze ❤
Have listened to Leonard Cohen since I was 13 [ 1967 ] and he has continued to entertain me through my life in so many ways. A one in a billion entertainers.!! Looking forward to joining his chorus of song on high.
where are the other 6/7?
it seems he's always been there for me too
Op
Just discovered his music as of yesterday, I'm hooked up, love his peaceful voice and taking me to no man's land(Port protection Alaska)
déjà 6 ans presque jour pour jour que le poète est parti il nous reste plus que sa musique et ses mots .merci à lui.
The godfather of music
I am missing you dear Leonard Cohen. Thank you so much for the prophetic songs you give to the world.
so beutifel coment
trhis song changed my fate! so true my queen leonard was a very valuable man and I miss his aura as well
@@micubogdan5279 Good Words ❤️👍🥂 Greetings from Berlin
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Yup
Everything about this song and this performance is perfect.
I’m so grateful that Leonard went on the road and toured extensively before he died - When he left us without our guardian of song & poetry he left us bereft of his radiantly ironic presence. No one can sing his songs the way he sings them - thank goodness for these live youtube videos of Leonard - they are a treasure of his performances to be visited and revisited until we join him in the music
Bluegrass Train 😂
❤️
The Live in London concert is available on both CD and DVD. Both are beautifully recorded.
I went to two nights of his last New York appearance. If I'd known it was his last tour, I'd have flown to London too.
💖🌹👍
I started listening to your music when I was 28 just around the time a lady broke my heart. I am now 57 and still listening and remembering her. Thanks for the memories Mr L Cohen.
the same for me!
There are emotions like tatoos that are forever some people we fall in love with will forever leave a haunting memorry behind . I was touched by a womans love in 1965 at age 17 it was a short time then she went her way for many years I tried to be with her if for only a moment but it was futile, no one understood the way it stayed without any weakening And as the years passed by I couldnt help but count them 10,15,20,30,40 years its now been 55 years and nothing has faded about her my life has moved on married twice but her memorry her smell the long kisses her arms they are as clear today as then. Some dismiss love when your young but its not any foolish shallow thing. And some may have forgotten the power of love in the bloom of life. Unrealistic and a waste of time too young to really know what love is they will say. And I agree at that age there was much yet to learn But now at age 73 all I have is my memorries and those still bring me heart rending pleasure and of
wonderous sensations. So James you can expect her to remain another 30 years in you deepest thoughts . Perhsps had it worked out with her in my case maybe her magic would have worn thin of worse I woyld have taken my life over her. Any way your coment just triggered my responce.
Amen 🙏🏻Cleve ..I was married twice to the same wrong man.. I still have him in my heart down deep in that warm cozy spot we all share.. I’m not sad that it never worked out.. I’m sad that the man I’ve discovered now might just be a tad bit late to the table for dinner .. we click on so many levels it’s as if we can read each other’s minds ..hearts so many miles away from each other...I found Mr. Cohen on unplugged an have been chained to his melodious voice..powerful poetry set to the best songs on this planet...I’m / we are the luckiest humans in the entire universe to have had him touch our hearts and souls with his artistic flare as a painting by Monet , Raphael, Salvador Dali (so) , Rembrandt..stuff like this only comes once in a lifetime...I’m in awe.
Cleve Hubbs love has a power that no young person will ever understand, the understanding only comes though the loss of it, and, of course, time.
An English in Edmonton teacher of mine brought Cohens first Lp to class and demanded we shut up and listen to this genius poet from Montreal.
From the first song, I knew my life just changed. Canada has a habit of bringing talent to the rest of the world which we are very proud of. What an artist.
And that delicate pied piper clarinet finesse echoing the mando or mando-like instrument . . . I would follow it anywhere . . . a memorable tune, indeed . . . 😮
Wherever you are Leonard, I want to get there one day. Your music, poetry everything about your creativity is timeless, sublime.
هذآ جيد.

I so agree
This performance live is beyond perfection. Leonard was an amazing artist and mind. How profound it would be to have him back to say thank you for all he has done and will do for us all still listening to his prophetic works of music. You may be gone Leonard but never forgotten by anyone who knows your music. May we all join you in the ethereal and hear you play for us there.
😅😅@@andrewlowe9969
in my deepest remorse and despair leonard whispered peace and bliss in my ears. wrapping me in his poetry and songs. long live my Jewish prophet
My wife and I were fortunate enough to experience this marvelous show at Red Rocks in Denver. Best Concert Ever!
I’ve been a fan for thirty years, and this complement of superb musicians rendered Mr. Cohen’s work flawlessly.
Have missed him since his passing three years ago.
Any soul who has been touched by the art of Leonard Cohen will always miss his presence on earth. We all have been inspired by his genius and humanity would be a better place if it experienced his artistry. A true legend in all he did and we can all be thankful for all the songs and videos of him that will remain timeless. May God keep him well and we all will look forward to meeting him in the next life to say thank you for your musical legacy on earth!
The tone on that bass is beautiful.
I've seen a lot of Masters live, but it's not a secret that this act live is the most beautiful and purest I've ever seen
I miss him too
Yup
Seeing him live was almost overwhelming! I agree with you 100%
This is one of the most beautiful live performances we will ever see and hear from a man most brilliant and most missed. Our world needs him to return for no one can sing or perform his catalogue the same. Thank you Leonard for all you did and you still do, your artistry will live on and we all will ensure your legacy is remembered. RIP good soul
من یک ایرانی هستم و خیلی خوشحالم که با صدای این مرد بزرگ اشنا شدم.❤❤

Listening to you all makes sense, life and the meaning of the unknown and the absolute, music and your voice all together thrill the sensitive souls.....
You are a sensitive soul...
J'espère qu'en mourant, je tomberai sur son nuage....
You are right right Teresa
So true. I just get chills and it make sense
I'm a sensitive soul too cause I luv Leonard Cohen ,, he opens up our minds while giving us life n death in poems set to music sang by a genius,, oh how I would have loved to see him live ,, I went to many great shows met legions, but none can compare to LC ,,including Bod Dylan ,, an I met him ,, got his autograph but I'd trade that nite for one show seeing LC,, only 2 I never saw I wanted to see ,one is LC the other was lou reed ,, both raw n real in their music,,
This is a great collection. Right there with my own tastes.
So much love and respectin this man's soul?Just ONE with his incredible band ! I miss you so much MONSIEUR Cohen !
“
“
Amazing 💫 he was the ink and the group his fountain 💫 or perhaps some other way 💫 melts my gypsy soul💫🥁💫
Yes sadly missed! A great poet, songwriter. What a great band of musicians!!
Sluit ik me bij aan
He was so shy when he first was encouraged to sing on stage, and the crowd went wild with respect. I think the song was 'Suzanne''..🌿🧡
I hope nobody will forget such a great singer. Those who don't know his carreer can't understand.RIP
That's so true ,,and so many dont know his music but some just r not deep enough to get him ,, I think u gotta b kinda deep to relate to his words shallow ppl ,, they will never get him ,,
His music, poetry and presence can never be forgotten. We all must make sure his legacy is remembered and respected by every generation after ours. Every young person should be strapped to a chair and made to listen and may be they find a life that has more meaning than useless materialism and awful music that is nothing but swearing, promoting vices and noise. Leonard's music is from heaven itself and you explore your feelings as a human being be it in love, longing, experience, the world is a cruel place often. The music comforts us no matter how dark things may become for our souls. We are wanderers in a world of darkness that we must make a light for ourselves in our journey our own way and this is what Leonard gives us in his artistry. He was an explorer of the soul and mind and it gives hope to us all we are not alone. Thank you dear Leonard you are greatly missed by all who were touched by you and will continue to be.
Thanks for your answer. It's a great pleasure to see his
poetry stays alive
what a mind-bowing compilation, it really clicks with my eccentriic musical tastes. Thank you very much.

As do so many of his songs . . .
Long live Leonard in our hearts.
Sublime, maravilloso. Señor Cohen todos los días escucho su maravillosa voz , el conjunto de música y coros me eleva el alma.
È una delle mie preferite nostalgica con un velato rimpianto cantata con una voce suadente e raffinata questo il Cohen che amo di più . Grazie
I feel so blessed I was there the night he sang this song, and so many others. One of the best nights of my life, for sure. Thank you Leonard and your band.
I was at the L.A show at the Nokia Theater. : For the record.
One of the biggest regrets I have in life is that I had an opportunity to see Leonard live and I didn’t go.
Your voice will never die, Mr Cohen !
We all know how amazingly talented this man was and on so, very many levels. He also knew how to surround himself with phenomenal musicians.
I hope when l died, i bring down direcly on is cloud (srry for my poor english)
roger Bergeron No worries! What a nice thought!
Indeed the background singers an musicians r incredible
And he always gave credit to them! I wonder where they all are now ...
Это так. Жаль, что Нобелевская премия получена другим.
Questa poesia è molto bella e triste come quasi tutte quelle di Leonard Cohen. Rip Leonard
I can relate to this rawness and cold honesty of Mr Cohen.
I have only recently found Leonard through UA-cam, all the misery and the insanity on the Internet, he was and is and will be one of the best things that I have ever found on the computer I only wish that I Had known of him before his death. Such a soulful human.
I have his book of poems - the genius is there as well
Well maybe you can relate to it
Then you would adore RUMI

The lute solo at the beginning is hauntingly beautiful
I am so touched by the lyrics of The Sisters Of Mercy, not only by the melody of music, also deeply by the lyrics to courage us how to stay strong confidence when you are alone.
Leonard you and the musicians are born Darlings. I love this song🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡
