STEP 1 - SETTING UP BOOM ARM FOR BLUE SNOWBALL
After unpacking both your blue snowball and boom mic stand, unscrew the Blue Snowball’s own stand if it has one attached already. I also recommend attaching your mic stand boom arm to your table or whatever surface you plan on using the setup on. It’s handy to have it mounted and sturdy so you can attach the snowball.
STEP 2 - THE BLUE SNOWBALL SCREW TRICK
If you were to place your Blue Snowball onto the mic arm now it would be extremely loose and insecure. This is due to the hole being too wide for the attachment on the mic arm. Look at the underside of the Blue Snowball, at the hole. The plastic lip around the hole is actually removable.
STEP 3 - SCREWING YOUR BLUE SNOWBALL TO YOUR MIC ARM
You would think that unscrewing this plastic piece would make the hole even wider and in turn even more difficult to attach to the boom arm but when you flip the piece upside-down and screw in that end, it makes the hole the exact same size as the boom arm mic stand attachment and therefore perfectly compatible!

Thank you so very much! I have a BCMaster 1610 USB mic that I was trying to attach to a Neewer NB 39 suspension arm and could NOT figure out how to do it. Your video is so simple and so helpful. My son gave me an HP Envy desktop computer that did not have a mic and now I am all set! This 77 yr old tech-savvy senior is now a very happy camper.
Had this set up for 5 years and only now realise how to connect the microphone. I USED CELLOTAPE FOR 5 YEARSSSSS
🙈🙈
lmao, i just also took a bunch of tape off my mic stand when installing the snowball! turns out i had a connection point between the vertical and horizontal boom arm all taped up, when really i just had to take the spacer off of it and it screwed in securely no problem. spent years that way... jaaahah
I LOVE U, I WAS ABOUT TO GOTO THE STORE AND COP A PIECE LOOL

I started my channel not to long ago. I have been searching for ways to improve my audio and this video came up on my recommended. I am so happy that it did! I had no clue and was going to look on Amazon for something to help me fit my snowball on my stand. Thank you so much!!!
HOLY SHITTT I JUST BOUGHT A 100 DOLLAR BOOM ARM AND IM LIKE WTF ITS NOT WORKING TILL I WATCHED THIS THANK YOU SO MUCH IM SUBBING
THANK YOU! I had forgotten how the stand came on the snowball when I bought it. That was the part I couldn't figure out because I just removed the legs and not he actual pole where the mic is screwed on. All the other videos weren't smart nor nice enough to show that part like you did! THANK YOU!
thanks a lot, i just got the package for my arm and and realized i missed the adapter, moments before i ordered the adapter saw your video... thanks to you..
never have I ever been more grateful to a youtube video. Thank you!!!!
I had the blue snowball and i wanted a mic arm, i watched your video, and was like: ah! I'm gonna buy one of those. Since i live in Sweden, there was no sellers for the arm nearby me. So i got on Amazon, and ordered the arm. It was more than $30 for shipping, (or 350sek). Now that i have the arm, the audio for my UA-cam-videos are much better! Thanks man! Keep up the great work.
Emerald Force There are exactly the same arms in Ebay for same price and free shipping from china. Only downside is that shipping takes 1-2months. -Finland
Thank you for posting this. I could not tell from the description on Amazon if it was possible to connect the snowball to a boom. You just helped make up my mind.
I could never figure out how to get it to work properly and didn't want to buy extra unnecessary pieces. Thank you for this guide! It really helped me properly upgrade my setup!
Trey50Daniel what is the little piece called
Thanks for making the video. You just saved me a trip to Home Depot or making another order on Amazon lol. I have seen videos about this but did really show how to remove the fitting on the clip. Thanks again this video really helped.

Perfect! I’m gonna order this stand now!!!!

Thank you so much bro. You saved me a few bucks and effort.
I've been using it wrong for over 2 years now by putting the default stand in the mic holder, thank you so much.
Thanks ! I was banging my head to my wall as I needed a mic stand and was not able to get to any conclusion. You solved it !!
Thank you! I did not know which arm to get, very helpful.
Yo thanks, this really helped! My adapter thingy was metal and hard to find, it was connected to another adapter.
Thank you so much! this is very helpful because i have the snowball mic and it's always in the way of when i need to type while in a call with my friends. : )
Thank you for this! I bought a stand that came equipped to fit the mic but when I bought a second one for my daughter, it didn't fit. Sure enough, the adapter was on the mic clip! Thankfully I clicked this video first when searching for the thread size!!
Thanks for watching and for your comment.
That's cool!! 👍👍
You just saved me the hustle of buying an adapter screw! Thank you very much!
Such a saver 👍
Thanks man this was very helpful and straight to the point
Thank you so much! I was figuring out how to take out the piece (that connects the arm to the blue snowball ice) connected to the mic holder. The coin method was really good. I was struggling to take it out. ❤
Helped a lot thank you💕

Could this also work with a blue snowball ice?
wow god bless u i was looking for this
Now i Can finally remove the tape that holded my blue mic. Thanks alot this works!
Great news! Thanks for the comment and your time. I appreciate it
Let me first say ding ding ding, Top of the morning to ya, to be sure to be sure :D great video have been looking for one for ages cheers.
Thanks dude u saved me
Is that an ice or regular/professional one?
Thanks a lots man it really helped me 👍👍🏾
thanks heaps this helped so much and save me some money 👍
Best review
Does this help with vibrations from the desk?
im not at home but will this also work for regular blue snowball and not just the snowball ice
nice video, turns out i didnt even need the adapter because my mic stand already has a 5/8" screw/threading. I just had to pop the snowball on the end (where a traditional mic clip was unscrewed, leaving the thread for my snowball)
Thank you so much. Sending ❤️
does the blue snowball and blue yeti have the same boom arm connection mechanism?
amazing video, thank you so MUCH
Clear and Simple :) Thank you
Great! Thank you, that means a lot
Can you connect the snowball with any mic stands
Thanks this was very helpful
will this work with a Blue Ringer shock mount as well or is it too heavy? total with teh shock mound and the snowball its about 1kg.
Is this similar for the tonor T20?
Que buen video! Eres un genio amigo!!!!
does it work with blue snowball ice?
OMG you saved me!!!
You are the best sir.
AMAZING!!! Thank you!!!
Thank you so much I was worried at first when I unboxed it
So this can work on general mic stands that look like that? Cheers
I hope so
I believe the snow all is a 5/8ths inch mount whereas the boom arm was 3/8ths, so just get whatever matches your mount needs or buy an adapter
yeah most mic stands have a 5/8" thread somewhere, thats what im using with my blue snowball.
Thank a lot! I thought i need to order adapter! Like!
Instead of a blue snow ball will it work on a adx fircast
I love the outro
Where do i get the silver cable that you put in the snowball?
awesome! it was very hard to set everything up and record with the mini tripod
For sure! And the more you move microphones around on these mini tripods the more chance they'll break and bash off things! The boom arm is a safe place for them! Anyway, thanks for the comment, feel free to subscribe!
Awesome video ! Helped me
this was very helpful just my desk dosent have holes on the side rip
What cable does it use
can I use it for 5/8inch male to 3/8 inch female
could it work with the blue yeti? I plan to upgrade some day but i want a stand that works with both so I don't need to buy a new one.
This was helpful I’ve subscribed!
Thank you!
Can you do this with the white ver?
How long is the snowball wire
Thanks for the help!
Does it work on xbox and ps4
Thank you
saved me, thanks
does the bluesnowball ICE fit on this?
Yes
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!
