Perfect review Pete, thank you very much. Yesterday i recommended to buy the Zorro elrs with ep1 and ep2 receivers to a friend who wants to upgrade from frsky for his whoops and 5 inchers. This was exactly the video i needed to send him now. 🤘🤘🤘
just what i needed thanks, got a zorro elrs in the mail, working playing more with LR on my DJI setup but felt the dji controller was maxing out way too easy for the open environments i was testing and exploring in.
Thanks man! 👍 This is all you need until something else crazy comes out :) Frsky is pretty much obsolete. Notice now even the mobula7 comes with spi elrs :)
ELRS. That's where I'm going. Plucking out the xm plus on most of my quads. Wiring harness for 4 pin jst and swapping out elrs or crossfire. Radiomaster all the way :) $13.50 only for the ep1. I just need three. More than enough for swapping.
Great review as always. ELRS looks to be the way to for sure. As for me, I've spent about the last year and a half or so moving to Crossfire and with that investment I won't be changing anytime soon. Who knew?
Thanks! Crossfire is an excellent platform. I've gotten the micro starter kit that came with 3 receivers and the module and one quad that was sent by Banggood had a crossfire nano so I have just 4 receivers and still have one receiver not used. If you can get a hold of some jst female and male 1mm pitch connectors and put them in your quads so you just swap out the receiver from quad to quad, you don't need many receivers at all. But if you keep buying quads and new receivers then you may want to go ELRS. So much cheaper and amazing range.
Hi Mr, great video!, what is the value of tx power that you are using in the transmitter? because I had the external elrs module and I don't know what value to use. Thank you very much for your help.
Great video. I'm a newb. Have a Protek R25HD and a Zorro ELRS Tx coming in. At 9:10. What is a smoke stopper and do u have a link? What is the M8 you r connecting the smoke stopper to at 9:20? What are the names of your nano drones under 250gms?

This Seems Like The One To Get, There Are A Few Elrs Transmitters Out There But You Have To Update The FirmWare To Get AnyThing Bound Up. They Seem To Be Bit Of A Hassle To Get Them Working Properly. Had One That Bound To The Receiver But It Didn't Show AnyThing Was Bound On BetaFlight, I Thought It Was The Kwad But Turns Out The Transmitters FirmWare Wasn't Proper. Had To Go Through A Nice Bit Of Work To Even Do An UpDate On The FirmWare. Not To Cool, It Was Very DisCouraging. Thought The Transmitter Would Be An Out Of The Box Bind And Fly And A Bit Of BetaFlight Set Up But It Wasn't. The Zorro Seems To Be A Better Buy Then The JPro Elrs, Think I'm Gonna Get One. Great Review Budd. Bless Up
I really love the way Radiomaster puts the latest firmware and makes it simple to set up right out of the box without any downloads or updates and that is how it should be when you buy a new product. You will be happy with this one. Oh, try out the sticky gimbal sticks. They are something else. It's like Spiderman fingers!
I found out beta fpv nano modules and beta fpv brand nano recievers factory firmware binds . The beta fpv lite recievers bind out of the box to beta fpv micro modules .👍
I bought all three to finally get it figured out . But i didn't have to buy a computer and cable . So weeee. I actually saved money . And you can too . Remember : beta fpv brand nano module binds to beta fpv nano reciever without lua script or flashing or computers or cable internet bills or upgrades or any of that . You can learn that later though if you want .
Nice review, But have some questions maybe you can answer I know this video is nearly year old but I am always late when it comes to tech I see you have a ELRS internal protocol SO here is my question , I have older small quads and have the older Frsky XM / XM+ / Rsxr /SPI receivers ( not the newer Frsky Rx's with ACCESS I think it is) ? Rather than change all of those to ELRS receivers, etc IF I bought the Zorro and I wanted to continue to fly my older quads with those older Frsky Rx's what Zorro Tx should one get ? One with ELRS and Add a module to cover the older Rx's ( if they will ) OR get a Zorro with 4 in 1 or CC2250 and ADD a ELRS module to use ELRS ? As it appears everything is now ELRS in many micro quads being sold today? I currently use the original T8SG Tx ( black and silver one ) to fly micro quads and when Frsky changed to their new ACCESS I think it is, it will not bind to the newer Frsky receivers SO What do I need IF, I decided to go with the Radiomaster Zorro to fly those older Frsky protocol Rx quads and also later if/when i wanted to fly a ELRS protocol quads ? Hope that is not to confusing ...lol
@@RCEscape Thank You , yeah i decided to do that, but i had one other issue I thought the Zorro 4 in 1 would also fix and that is the newer style Frsky Rx's that will not bind to my old Jumper, but it appears they will not bind to the Zorro either and they will have to be flashed to older firmware somehow to make it work I do have a couple older Fsky Rxs I could just change them out and if later the ELRS nano module comes out and they fix the XT30 on it I may get it and some ELRS rx's instead . But at least i can still fly most of these older quads I enjoy so much Thanks again for your help and advice,
These range tests at high altitude (100-300meters), not practical, who would fly fpv at that altitude. I'll take out my Mini2 to do that. Could you please do range test EP1 vs EP2 at lower altitude like 10m high. Thanks.
Finally sit in front and land in backyard with house in between you and your drone . Maybe . Those beta fpv elrs lite recievers match firmware with beta fpv elrs jr bay module . No upgrade needed . No flashing computers . Just buy and fly . And beta fpv nano rx , and beta fpv nano tx firmware match to bind . Then you can wait to upgrade . Computers are not very common anymore. I haven't seen one lately .
I personally do not like irange products and have not tried it. Watch some reviews on it and see if it is any good. What you could do is change out the receivers on non elrs quads to elrs. If this is too much for you, you could use ONE elrs receiver on all your quads by prepping them with a four pin jst connectors and have the elrs receiver prepped with the matching connector so you simply remove the ONE elrs receiver from quad to quad instead of the 4in1.
@@RCEscape Yeah irange products always seem a little sketchy to me too. I mainly ask because I have a mobula 6 HD, and it has the frsky protocol (D8?). The FC has receivers integrated... I looked around and it seems I can buy the whole elrs FC to replace but that's pretty expensive. (around $50)
@@user-yk1cw8im4h Do what I do for d8 protocol spi receiver quads. Upgrade the transmiiter you already have with d8 mode to a pigtail antenna interface so you can add a 2watt booster. It’ll increase the range tremendously.

The range test with EP1 has a good result of 1.69km. Yeah! Not bad at all! Great review! 👍 👌 👍
You know...I probably never fly more than a few hundred meters at any time so either of the receivers are good and yeah, not bad at all :) 🍺🍺
1 mile only? That’s garbage!
I’ve done that with the EP2 ceramic receiver. Turned around because I chickened out, but all the stats were still good!
