The batteries are pretty cheap really, so buying a second set is a good option, which is what I did. Also I’ve ordered the long cable in case I’m going to be flying for more than my usual time flying, so it’s not going to be much of a problem for me or most people.
Great review. I still prefer the tx12 with an elrs module over the Zorro. Much better screen placement and battery life. Has the same Jr bay as my tx16s, so they can be swopped out without modification and you can use the 1 watt module. Runs edgetx no problem. Stock gimbals are potentiometer, but are working fine for me right now. It uses the same gimbals as the zorro, so they can be upgraded later to halls or the more expensive ones.
@@NordFPV I think you might like it. I bought it as a backup for my tx16s, but use it fairly regularly when I want to pack smaller and lighter. The only changes I have made are switching it to edgetx and new stick ends.
TX12MK2 takes the original and adds some refinements like internal ELRS, you can use the 5000mah battery as well as 18650s, internal USB charger, bigger grips. It's certainly another option for a mid-size radio that isn't in the game pad form factor.
Are you planning on doing flights over 30 kilometres or more, because otherwise as I’ve seen on a video 250 milliwatts will get you over that distance.
@@davidreynolds8551 I'd love to try some long distance one day. Not too many places I fly are convenient for it. To me, it has more to do with penetration and flying completely behind myself around obstacles at low altitude on compromised antennas and areas of high interference for now. It is nice to have the power in case it is needed.
The scroll wheel is not plastic, it's aluminium, you can tell it is metal as it is cold to touch as it conducts heat away from you finger, plastic does not do this.
After using it for flying my helicopter using Radiomasters Nexus i live this thing, i like the feel and use of it better then my tx16s, for me yhe ago1 minis just feels lighter and are easier for me to use because i have smaller hands, i dont have to strecth to reach the end points on my zorro like i have to on my tx16s
Just one point to add though: If ELRS is configured correctly, and the antenna setup is premium, there is no way a power setting of 250mw would be required, unless you are going double digit distances. And if that's the case, I would think the pilot would know better than to buy the Zorro, which I think is geared toward medium range, freestyle, sub 250g pilots.
I completely agree, but most of time I do my videos thinking about new users, or beginner users, the lowest common denominator, who most probably won't know what antennas to use, and it will be easier for them just to change the output power. But you are spot on, and I would love to heard about your set up. What do you use for antennas? What configuration you have for your ELRS system?
@@NordFPV Hi, I'm mainly into 3inch toothpicks, which I use to push the limits of my R9mm/R9m combination....I have a frsky zipp 9 moxon high gain antenna on the module, and the stock frsky antenna on the rx. That's a though question. I normally refer to a FPV radio just to say they work with FPV. Most of those radios will work with other devices beyond FPV, but at the same time, the number of buttons/switches maybe small and designed more towards FPV than for example fixed wings...
I put AG01s in my Tx16S and my Zorro - and the TX16S has better stick motion. The AG01s in the Zorro are not as good as the ones in my TX16S, IOW. So I no longer use my Zorro.
Hey Tim, thank you for this comment. I have added AG01 to my zorro and haven't seen that big jump in feeling as many described, and I wanted to hear exactly this from someone owning both.
@@NordFPV Yeah - specifically, the AG01 throttle in the TX16S is perfectly smooth, while the throttle stick in the Zorro remains slightly sticky - even after I applied dampening grease to the AG01s in the Zorro (the grease helped, but not 100%).
Hi my friend. This first time to view a video from you. I went to you're website. Funny first 3 number are my area code of USA. But ever flown planes and helicopter with this radio? Ty
Thank you for your feedback. If you want to get in touch with me, please use the email. I don't have much experience flying planes or heli, but I've heard some of my friends with this radio and some planes. As long as you don't need a huge number of switches you should be ok.

There is absolutely 0 people on the planet Earth who are looking for a tiny radio, so stop saying its made as a compact radio for carrying around. People like smaller radios because they are easier to fit into a backpack.
