Fox Mustang and the EXP and Escort have a lot of commonality in their fasteners and some other things like knobs, switches and weatherstrips on the closures. The four lug wheels are the same center hub drill and 4x108 lug drill pattern.Escort enthusiasts can be very thankful that the Mustang has such huge sales numbers and demand for restoration parts, it greatly improves the serviceability for our vehicles
Definitely! And a good number of interior parts like heater controls, switches, steering wheels, seat belts, radios & components, and even entire seats are the same (or very close to identical) when comparing the right years. For the info for others yeah Scott nailed it on the wheels too, the offset & width differs but the center bore and lug spacing (4x108) is the same across both too. I wanted to mention it in the video but ran out of battery, this Mustang we drug home on Tempo wheels haha
@@gamersgrubs2952 there's a LOT of RWD V8 swaps out there because the rear end easily accepts a Fox Body axle and the engine compartment is large enough front to back. RWD swap is one of my contemplations with that new Mustang as a donor.... Problem is I'd really want a manual transmission and more power, 88hp+120ftlb is pretty weak for a 3,000lb Stang when the same year EXP was 2,200lb with 90hp+100ftlb or 115hp+110ftlb
@@guyww8516 ha! You'd definitely be surprised then, my whole life people have been saying "Hey is that a Mustang/Capri?" at every other stop lol Up in Wisconsin both are rare sights - ESPECIALLY EXPs/LN7s so what's the closest thing to them? Gotta give them credit for trying at least 🙂
I thought that the car I had my eye on as a fifteen year old was a differently bodied Mustang for a long time until I rode in one and looked it over. This was 1992 or so, we didn't have any immediate reference materials. I just thought it was a 2 seater Mustang until I could actually touch an EXP in person. I was disappointed, but I still do love that car. Escorts were pretty good cars for their time.
Sweet Vid!
Great video. I love the EXP coverage.
@@edensker thanks much! If there's anything in particular tou want to see let me know!

@@The_1982_EXPert Oh, by the way! First generation Escorts and EXP look great on 16 inch 1990 Mustang “Pony” wheels!
Now has anyone swapped the 2.3 RWD into a EXP?
