    You have a talent for explaining things. These series of videos are short , clear , to the point . They are well paced and assume the viewer has no prior or very basic prior knowledge. Excellent . I'm subscribing . I set aside a CNC project 2 years ago because of the multiple hardware /software steps necessary to make it work . You are making the world of CNC more accessible . Thank you.

    IMPORTANT for people who do not get the outputs to work this way:
    I've tried this approach for about a day and went through all mach3 settings trying to find the error because I was not getting a signal. The best I was able to do was to have a voltage of -0.6V between DCM and all inactive Outputs, while the active output showed -1V. The output was flashing in mach3, but didn't quite reach my motion controller.
    I was about to throw the towel and buy a different motion controller.
    Then I saw a video (channel was Minhs Man Cave), in which - instead of wiring the 24VDC ground to DCM, it was wired to one of the other ground ports (besides the 5V and 10V pins). Although I have not seen this wiring anywhere else and it might lead to problems further along the way, suddenly I got a 24V signal on the active output and 0V on the inactive ones and everything worked. I hope that this comment might help others facing the same problem and not having to sacrifice a weekend in troubleshooting :)
    PS: I did not buy the board from buildyourcnc (sorry, different continent) - so this might also be a reason for it not being able to work properly.

      Thanks for the recommendation Lorenz. I can't verify if this will work, but I would advise against connecting the gnd of the 24v to anything but the DCM. Maybe the controller you have is different. The outputs are optoisolated from the chip and you want to keep the signal ground isolated if possible. I would instead look for a different cause of the problem which is probably in the configurations. Such as, make sure the port number is set to 3 for the outputs (not mentioned in the video). This is automatically set in the xml download on the mach3 usb page on buildyourcnc.com.

      My good man. I am NOT ALONE in this world!!!. I followed the wiring of BuildYourCNC.
      10v ---> 10v, AVI ----> VI, ACM----> ACM.
      The order in these readings is from Controller to the VFD. I have same VFD 2.2KW, I did the programming STEP BY STEP.
      PD013 = 8 for reset
      PD001=1
      PD002=1
      PD072=400
      I was about to throw in the towel, when I read your comment. But I am trying to understand the sequence here. Instead of wiring the black gnd wire from the 24V power supply to the DCM port of the power supply, he connected the DCM port of the motherboard to the DCM port in the VFD? I think I am missing something. I would appreciate some help.

    Thanks a lot for sharing this knowledge! To avoid complications I ordered exactly the same relay board (but with 4 outputs) and built 230v outputbox for CNCest 6040 router. I also wired relay inputs through 3 pos on/off/on switches, so I have auto/off/on for each channel to control each output manually.

    I believe I found the answer, I was reading a Vectric forum, according to there info I should be able to resolve the problem by adding a Time Delay code right after every M3 code. I seen a sample of a similar command on Cnc Zone forum by adding a G0 P2.5 it should delay the laser 2.5 seconds from shooting. I will try it and add an up date during the week.

    hey there.. Love the amount of content u put up for this subject matter. I've never seen so much of it before. Most ppl seem to gloss over this part of the electronics like it's a well guarded secret that they don't want us to know. I only began working in the electronics field a few months ago. I had no experience whatsoever before this. I'm lost bro.
    I have bought in a lot of the stuff u are using on here with ur CNC but my CNC Router is only going to be 1000x1000mm of a working area, I hope!
    I'm using extruded aluminium 2020, 2060 & 2080 to give it some strength. It's defo my 1st ever attempt at a CNC build. This is a massive undertaking for me bcos as I've said I have no electronics experience.
    So I have one real question if u have a bit of spare time to answer bro..
    Does a small cnc like mine need all this electronics? and if so could u give me a list of what I really need to get bcos I'm buying stuff and I'm not really sure what I should be buying. Like a proper list of the tyoes of things for a small CNC build like mine..Thanks in advance my friend..
    Ur channel is brilliant btw. I've only started watching this past week. Somehow I found it through all the nonsense on here about this subject. I will be sharing it to as many as I can now..

    Hi, is it possible for the board to recognize the G13 instead of the G3 and G10 instead of the G5. for the G codes of the Spindle? I'm adding a Diode Laser to my table but my issue is when the laser shoots, the cnc delays approximately 2.5 seconds after every G3 code before it starts to move. leaving a burn spot. I've read that G10 and G13 don't have a delay issue. When I use the G10 and G 13 Gcodes the laser does not tun on . If I chane the G10 and 13 at the PostProcessor to G3 and G5 the laser will turn on and off just with the delay. any suggestions would be appreciated .

    Thanks for sharing! My new CNCEAST 6040 has this board in it. I'm working through the process of wanting to automatically start a small 120V coolant pump for the spindle as it's easy to overlook turning it on manually. So in following your video and using the relay module I could use any of the 4 outputs not being used, so it follows in Mach3 Config> Spindle Setup> Flood Mist Control I could use either output and their associated commands M7 or M8 to command the relay through gcode or likewise OUT1 as I use my spindle in a clockwise configuration. Looking at the specs of the relay it is also rated up to 15A AC so no problem there. Is this the correct way to achieve this?

      All you need to do is make sure the rnrmotion.dll is in the plugins folder of mach3, and the XML provided on the product page is in the main folder of mach3. You will use he XML file in the mach3 loader. If you see the mach3 USB controller blink fast when you press the arrow keys (while in program run tab and reset is not blinking), then the controller is communicating with mach3.

    Which is better, a USB or parallel system

    • @PatrickHoodDaniel
      @PatrickHoodDaniel  3 роки тому

      A USB controller is doing the heavy lifting by producing all of the pulses for motor movement, and processing inputs and outputs, and the computer is only transferring simple instructions via the USB. A parallel controller forces your computer to do the heavy lifting causing the computer to be used exclusively as a CNC controller. There is a pro with parallel in that you are able to manually jog multiple axes at the same time, but that is it. USB/Ethernet is the way to go. Manually jogging only one axis at a is not an issue. If you need all axes to get to a specific location fast, then just use the MDI input and all axes will be used at the same time to get to the location.

    Unfortunately the pc with the parallel is dead now I have a laptop without parallel with Win10.
    I tried with a Manhattan usb to parallel cable but nothing to do.
    Is there a way to solve the problem without purchasing the UC100 module?

    • @MCircuits
      @MCircuits 2 роки тому

      There is no way you can use a usb to parallel port cable if your cnc controller only uses that kind of port. Since your pc with that port is gone, the only way to go is that red breakout board that was featured here.
      I built my desktop cnc using tachus 42 discrete diy 3 axis cnc controller that uses parallel port only and almost tried all possible parallel to usb converters and failed. Just saying.
