This is one of my holy grail pens definitely. Not clear if konid will keep on building pens again...
Your videos are wonderful! Your unbridled enthusiasm about pens is delightful (and shared!) and a pleasure to watch.
I now have 2 conid pens. I ordered a minimalistica and later got an Antwerpen Regular. The Regular has a fine titanium nib that’s wonderful. I can use it for work and despite the Antwerp pen being my most expensive pen, it’s now my regular carry since it is so comfortable, writes so well, holds so much ink, and so sturdy. It’s not showy either. No one has been particularly curious about it and my wife thinks it utilitarian rather than fancy in design.
I love the video. Quote of the day: "I'm not a fine guy. I don't really... I'm not a fine NIB guy. I'm really a fine guy" 😄
I got my Regular Bulkfiller nearly a year ago, and I absolutely love it. Flat top demonstrator model with the titanium accents, and it took 16 weeks to arrive. It had been at the top of my grail list for nearly 3 years. I fell in love with the filling system without even trying it, but I knew I had to have it. It's a fantastic pen. The only reason why I didn't go with the Kingsize was because of the #8 nib. I wanted to be able to swap nibs easily, and #6 nibs are so readily available that for me, that was my priority. I'm super glad I did, because now I have a custom #6 with an extra-fine cursive italic on one side and a 0.1mm needlepoint on the other. My _only_ complaint about the pen is sometimes the cap will loosen up. I don't want to really crank the cap onto the pen, so I just have to be careful with that.
I love my Conid "regular" It was my grail pen and I promised myself after I bought if I wouldn't every buy another pen. So far, I haven't (but I have too many anyway). It holds a LOT of ink. About enough for a month as my daily writer. I'm glad I got it when I did as they stopped taking orders not too long after. I got mine with a gold nib because grail pen. Most of my pens I always fill with the same color but because the Conid is so easy to clean completely, I change colors with almost every fill. One downside. I often can't help but fiddling with the filling mechanism while the pen has ink in it and I have gotten ink all over my hands many times. 100 percent my fault. I can't resist turning the knob and engaging the little piston. Once on an airplane at 35,000 ft, I turned the blind cap opening the small reservoir in the section, exactly what your are NOT supposed to do. Pilot Iroshizuku Yama Budo came squirting out of the nib. My seat mate was not amused. The ink stains on my hands lasted days. Ah, the good times before Covid 19. Hmmm. Conid, Covid. :-o
Conid Regular in red acrylic, "Antwerppen". I would not say it was my grail pen, but after some initial surprises - piston not smooth - I am simply amazed by it. It fits perfectly my hand. The shape of the section makes it magically fitting my grip. Gold M-Stub writes precisely the type of line I do enjoy. And yes, I am too glad I have ordered it while it was still a simple thing to do.
I do not fiddle with the filling mechanism though... ;)
Great vid. Btw the two doorknobs directly behind you occasionally line up perfectly and look like earrings on you. Quite entertaining 0:19
The Kingsize Bulkfiller is one of my favourite pens. The size is good for me, Bock #8 nibs and ebonite feeds are among my favourites, and the of the innovation and over(?) engineering of the bulkfiller mechanism appeals to me.
The bulkfiller mechanism is a bit finickity to use so some will hate it. On the plus side it holds *alot* of ink and flushes the pen quickly - unlike vacuum fillers which have a similarly large ink capacity but can be a bit of a pain to flush.
I have a relatively early pen with a Bock branded 18K F nib (it predated both Titanium #8 nibs and Conid branded nibs) and cursive italic grind by Francis.
I love the Kingsize and Regular. I have a BB nib on the Kingsize and a bunch of different Bock nibs for my Regular. I'll never part with them, and I'm glad I got then years ago.
This is a grail pen for me! Good to find a discussion regarding this pen again. Have a nice day!
Stephen, one of the more fascinating pens in your collection. That engineering of the filler system really appeals to the "geek" in me (and to you also most likely). Also an interesting back story to how it was added to the collection.
This is one of my grail pens. I love the engineering and the design. Other than the crooked Mandalorian picture in the background, it's a lovely pen. Thanks for sharing.
Always great to see a Kingsize in action. Thanks for showing yours once more. Recently got myself a Minimalistica AVDA phi, which is also an incredibly insane perfect pen and writer. Complaints about the Bock nibs...?? I have it with a steel nib and it is absolutely one of the best nibs I own. Also unbelievably perfect. Can’t wait Conid to reopen. The Kingsize is too big for me, the nib especially. And too expensive, not unimportant. But the AVDA Phi is certainly not my last Conid. Pens for a lifetime! 😍
Very interesting. I have never heard about this pen, but then I’m fairly new to the hobby. Thank you, Stephen.
They are fantastic and unique pens if they happen to suit your preferences, but I hope they will have managed to restructure the production process a bit by the time they open back up and start accepting new orders, so they can find the time to add some more SKUs to their already existing product categories. I've always wanted a Kingsize, but the features that are right for me are all spread out over their product line instead of being united in one pen, so I've been waiting for something that aligns with my tastes ever since I heard about it.
Thank you, Stephen. One of the few pens I do not yet have that I actually want.
I wish someone edited some of your recent videos sampling all of your angry comments voices, I would listen to the result all day long.
Thanks Stephen.. beautiful fountain pen.. I enjoyed this .. would love one.. but as you say.. things do get in the way at times.. be Well!

Hi there, thanks so much for all your fantastic videos! 🙂
Do you know what's happening with Conid? Are they coming back?
Always wanted one of these but the price is just too high unfortunately
I agree with Jenso - this is one of my grail pens too. Question ~ why do you prefer to write with a broad nib? Perhaps this question is worthy of a video? I know it's a personal choice - but maybe it's practical in some instances too? I'm curious. Thank you for this series of videos! Oh hey - what's the status of the video we spoke of concerning the ins and outs of handmade vs. production pens? :-) Stay well my friend and please give a Hey There to Azizah!
The baseline pen is very spendy for a pen with a bog standard production line nib. Even more so if a better nib is added.
I'm saving up:
Conid king-size bulk filler steel nib or Pelikan M800 Stresseman
Once I got the mark, I can only buy one. More and I'll get into trouble with the boss 😬
Great video Stephen....jude
I'm waiting (very impatiently) for Conid to start taking orders again so that I can get the (flat top) version of this pen. Stephen, any thoughts on steel vs titanium nib for this pen? Thanks for sharing.
Beautiful pen. I'm about pragmatism, and a simple, reliable pen where you can see the ink inside is perfect.
How did you get an 18k? I believe that they only do 14k
I'm so sorry, I mislabeled it: it is actually a 14k nib
@@sbrebrown ahh cool. Do t worry
@@sbrebrown out of curiosity, this or 3bonite kop?
You are, of course, fine.
Damn you Conid! Now my life will be bereft of meaning without one of your extraordinary pens. I'll likely have to sell one of my prostheses or other such like possessions to afford it. But, whatever. It's that good.
I like the clear pens. Love seeing the colour of ink. I sent a picture via pm.
It’s true. I do wish I had that face.
Wish I had your hair. (I am bald)
Wish I had that face
YOU WISH YOU HAD THIS FACE lol
