Ice Box is more of an old school term, it harkens back to when you basically had a cabinet, in some cases maybe a small closet type room, or a large chest or box of some type, and you would keep your food cold in it using a large chunk of ice. My Dad was old enough to remember as a young child, they lived out in a rather rural town and they still had an ice box, and you could have ice brought to the house, just like the milk man and a few other things back in those days still. Though there were of course more of what we would consider refrigerators in more urban settings already.
8:20. I guess you're not a snooker, James. When I smoked, I did that all the time. It's actually very easy to do. Not everything was done practically, yes the puppeteering was done practically, but then it was blue/green screen composited into the film. Compositing is the pre-CGI equivalent of CGi so it’s not considered practical, it’s considered optical.

I enjoyed your review. My mother lived in Victorville when she was young and they had an icebox. An iceman delivered ice and that was their refrigerator in those days.
Ghostbusters II gets a lot of criticism and labeled "not good" when really its main problem is that it's not as good as the original. It's a sequel that is inferior to the original, but if you go in accepting that, you come out feeling it was a good movie worth watching. It's just not a great movie and definitely not a classic.
The sequel is a genuine misfire in my opinion and several notches below the first film, this is a franchise where no sequel was necessary at all - except - if they could get it right with these funny characters but they unfortunately couldn't, so when it finally happened it completely missed the mark.

I believe in some hotels if you leave your shoes out a person will shine them for you.
Oh interesting, that's. Even white ones?
One an done
🥰😘🥰😘🥰😘🥰😘
20:52 Nah, Stay Puft wasn't a real brand. The marshmallow man was just mashup of the Michelin Man and the Pillsbury Doughboy
Ok, I thought he was cute
@@AwesomeUSMovies he was also a combination with the Angellus Marshmallow Man, the mascot of a product exclusive to Canada (Dan Akroyd who played Ray and wrote the first draft of the script is from Canada).
The guy's reaction when Peter said, "It'll bite your head off man." is hilarious.
Thanks
3:04 I looked up the library and holy shit, it's like something out of Harry Potter or Wizard 101
Yeah, they had a heyday building that one. It's absolutely gorgeous in there. Takes your breath away walking in it
@@AwesomeUSMovies 100% on my bucket list, it's one of a kind
💛🖤💛
What's Zuul doing in my ice box? There's no Dana, only Zuul.
scary ice-box
Watch Ghost for Valentine's Day. It's got Patrick Swayze, Demi Moore and Whoopi Goldberg.
@@couch.patati-patata added to my list!
Stay Puft Marshmallows are and were a variant of the Campfire marshmallow brand, but hey had no official mascot until this movie. The iirony is that thie destroying of their new and first mascot was their first feature film advertising plug.
just visited this library in april. was fun to go to nyc as seek out all the filming locations for all the movies that are shot there. You could do a streaming trip there.
The ghostbusters song is so good!
Stay Puft is a real brand, more common in the South!
when i saw this in the theater my friend who i was with wet himself a little at the “get her” jump scare scene
Love it
Oh wow, you don't know Sigourney Weaver?! 😱
Then it's definitely about time, for you to watch the sci-fi horror Alien (1979)! 🥰 This classic masterpiece is perfect for this month! 👌🏼✌🏼
Halloween is pretty booked up already with other requests. Is it an actual Halloween movie? Confused
@@AwesomeUSMovies I don't know, what a actual Halloween movie is?! 🤷🏻♂️
I watch every kind of movies all year around, for example, i dont think Die Hard is a Christmas movie, while a lot of people do! 😁 But there are no zombies or ghosts in Alien, if that are criteria?! I thought people just watch horror and creepy movies in October! 🙄😁✌🏼
@@pietergreveling a lot of people have been requesting it but I already have three other movies to do in October. I'll see if I can slip it in as an extra. Thanks
@@AwesomeUSMovies Oh that would be awesome, but you can watch this movie all year around, if it doesn't fit in your schedule! 😉✌🏼
Alien is definitely a horror movie worthy of watching during the month of October
I have to say it’s so much fun watching these movies with you! Your laughter is contagious! 😂
I'm so glad, thank you for your support. It's appreciated.
WHen you think about it, the EPA guy is really not the villain, He's absolutely right!
I'd say he's like 20% right. But you don't just shut something down you don't understand... bad things can happen.
Rick Moranis is well known for the movies Honey i Shrunk the Kids, a family comedy, he is also in Spaceballs but see this one after Star Wars episodes 4,5 & 6 as it is a Star Wars spoof, i would see Star Wars episodes 4,5 & 6 (A New Hope, Empire Strikes Back & Return of the Jedi) before 1,2 & 3 as that is the order they were released
Already watched all those star wars movies
Ice Box is more of an old school term, it harkens back to when you basically had a cabinet, in some cases maybe a small closet type room, or a large chest or box of some type, and you would keep your food cold in it using a large chunk of ice. My Dad was old enough to remember as a young child, they lived out in a rather rural town and they still had an ice box, and you could have ice brought to the house, just like the milk man and a few other things back in those days still. Though there were of course more of what we would consider refrigerators in more urban settings already.
Yeah, I remember something amount it
This is a much better description
The 'little guy' is Rick Moranis. He's hilarious. Check him out in Little Shop of Horrors and Honey, I Shrunk The Kids.
Wait, isn't Little Shop a musical? I think I've seen it on stage. I'll add those to the list. Thanks
He was also "Dark Helmet" in Spaceballs
@@k1productions87 Haven't seen it yet. It's on the list.
@@AwesomeUSMovies I can't wait :D
I grew up on my recorded tv edit of this guy. Odd cuts for language and content didn't slow me down.
When I was a kid, I thought the cartoon series came first!
The Green mile, Forest Gump. V for Vendetta and Leon the Professional, ( the directors cut )
Added to list, thanks
Still my al time favourite movie.
Hope you enjoyed my reaction
You have just witnessed my all time favorite movie!
It was great
This theme is on par with Beverly Hills Cop for the best theme ever.
I love the Ghostbusters theme!
8:20. I guess you're not a snooker, James. When I smoked, I did that all the time. It's actually very easy to do. You just moisten the butt of the cigarette and gang it off a dry part of the bottom lip. In thus movie they might have used honey or something, but you can hang cigarettes off your lip, easy peasy.
ghost busters was my jam in the day I loved it sooooooooooooooo much
I'm more disappointed he didn't know Sigourney Weaver than any other actor. ALIENS is on my list of Top 10 movies of all time, with ALIEN the original not far behind!
I will be watching alien at some point
The shoes on the door would be shined for you overnight and left at your door in the morning.
I have a question for everyone here: I have organized a horror/comedy section in my collection of horror; titles like Scary movie, Stan Helsing, Tucker and Dale vs evil. Should I include Ghostbusters, or just leave it under regular comedy?
I don't see this as horror.
Wow never watched the movie completely since twas released
a couple good movies with the little guy, Rick Moranis, are Honey I Shrunk The Kids and Little Giants
Thanks, I've added all these to my list. It's appreciated
I assume young people just think those ghosts are all digital effects on a computer when everything in this film was done practically.
That's a really good point. Thanks
Not everything was done practically, yes the puppeteering was done practically, but then it was blue/green screen composited into the film. Compositing is the pre-CGI equivalent of CGi so it’s not considered practical, it’s considered optical.
4:27 you are really good in say the lines before the characters in the movies is so crazy!! lol, by the way i hope you can watch the last one, ghostbusters afterlife 2021,is a perfect tribute for this one, made by the son of the same director in this movie
What ?? " The Woman did'nt look familliar "....
Holy Moley . I urgently (! ) suggest that you watch Alien & Aliens (urgently ! ) You won't regret it .
And the little guy is Rick Moranis , he played in some Funny Movies , like Honey I shrunk the Kids
Alien is on my list, I'll add Honey I shrunk The kids. Thanks.
@@AwesomeUSMovies To be Honest ; Honey I shrunk the Kids is a nice Movie , but I wouldn't priotorise it . There are better , more Important/urgend Movies to watch .
Alien is a perfect Movie for Halloween because its one of the best Sci-Fi-Horror Movies . Aliens (otoh) is a damn good Sci-Fi-Action movie (less Horror, more shooting ;) ) and those two are the best . Don't bother to watch the other Alien Movies . They're mediocre at best
@@peterhecker1343 how many of them are there? What an I getting myself into?
@@AwesomeUSMovies You mean Alien Movies?
Oh there are Alien & Aliens which are absolutely Fabulous . A must watch (You WILL love them both , I'm quite sure of that)
Then theres 2 More (Alien 3 and Alien resurrection) That have extreme logical Failures, but if I explain them , I would spoil the Movies , so I'm afraid I can't.
And theres another 2 (Prometheus & Covenant) which have good Actors (Michael Fassbender) but they break the interne continuity , smth. that I despise .
And then theres also the Predator Movies . the 1st one has Arnold Schwarzenegger starring and is also an absolute Gem . If You like Sci-Fi and Action a must watch .
The second Predator (with Danny Glover) has a Plot twist that ties the Predator Movies/Universe to the Alien Universe .So If you want to delve into this, than theres 1/2 a dozen more Movies to watch .
But really ,all in all , if you want to get the basics you need to watch Alien, Aliens and Predator (with Arnie ) !
I enjoyed your review. My mother lived in Victorville when she was young and they had an icebox. An iceman delivered ice and that was their refrigerator in those days.
That's interesting thanks
Total classic
Ghostbusters II gets a lot of criticism and labeled "not good" when really its main problem is that it's not as good as the original.
It's a sequel that is inferior to the original, but if you go in accepting that, you come out feeling it was a good movie worth watching. It's just not a great movie and definitely not a classic.
If there is enough demand I'll watch it.
I like it too. It was a chance to see the same actors again. Oh and scene where Ghostbusters were rented out to a kids birthday party.
I like it almost as much as the first one. That said, I hope that Afterlife places 2nd in my rankings for the 3 Ghostbusters films.
Yeah, it is still fun and a good enough sequel. But it’s hard to compete with the original.
The sequel is a genuine misfire in my opinion and several notches below the first film, this is a franchise where no sequel was necessary at all - except - if they could get it right with these funny characters but they unfortunately couldn't, so when it finally happened it completely missed the mark.
Another good horror comedy I know you'd love is The Frighteners with Michael J Fox!
I give it a 10/10 Spoopies
Spoopies? Sure, what about non-Halloween ideas?
I really like the ghostbusters from 1984, bill murray is just a great actor, liked the other video groundhog day just as much as this one 👻
The Ghostbuster films are more comedy than horror. The second was good, but the new one that came out was fantastic.
you must be very young if you dont know these actor! wow you are in for a treat
No, I'm not that young just haven't watched movies at all for like 40 years
If you liked Bill Murray, you should really watch Groundhog Day (And it would be a great time, if you see my comment on time, it's actually Groundhog day in 2 days)
Well.... That was quick... You've posted your reaction to the movie like 10 minutes after I put this comment.. LOL
That worked out well!
