Great review thank you. Picking mine up today 🎉Looking forward to lots of cooking.
Great review, my next purchase is going to be the front shelf for my 885, I wholeheartedly agree with you when you said it should have come standard on the unit. But all and all I love my 885
Great review !!!!
Great review!
You answered my question about cold weather cooks😎! Love the info!
Merry Christmas to you and your family big bro!
Thanks Rob 👍👍
Good review
Great review
Thanks 🙏
Just ordered mine for $900 thanks to the employee discount at my work, can’t wait to try it out
What? Who do you work for? Never heard of an employee discount like that.
that's nuts! shoot the link
When you measured between the upper and lower rack. I don't think the bottom rack is in the lowest position available...love the vid!
Nicely done
Thanks
Ok I’m ready to buy it!
It’s a solid smoker.
love it
You can move the bottom grate down to get more clearance. Note that it then will be closer to the heat.
how much space is there if you run the lower rack all the way down? It has two positions.
Hey there. Thanks so much for this review. I noticed you did a review on the Timberline several months ago. Do you believe the extra insulation in the Timberline helps colder weather cooks substantially more compared to the Ironwood? Again, thanks so much for the details and I hope to hear from you.
Ben
Ben, it definitely cooks better in cold weather, but I’m talking extreme cold. We live in Canada and Jan & Feb can get pretty frigid. So if you live up North and actually cook all year round, I’d go for the Timberline... but if you’re only cooking in the summer, spring and fall the Ironwood is just fine.
Sir where you get that apron from?
How many external probes can you insert through the port???
I read somewhere that the front shelf addition is useless because of the material made. All the items slide off that you put on there. Do you find that to be true?
Does anyone know what the height of this unit is with out the legs installed?
does your 885 have leak issues from your lid?
The lower rack has 2 settings, you showed the higher set.
On a 1-10 scale, a great offset is a 10. Where does this pellet grill/smoker land? Is this something that can be used to make a good smoked brisket or rack of ribs?
Iron wood and up like a nine imo
We need names who has grease management problems?
Trigger?
Do you find you get a lot of smoke out the grease trap? I also do not get a lot of smoke out of mine. I was wanting more smoke but not the case
Smoke out of the grease trap? I don’t lose any smoke out of the grease tray.
How do you catch the grease off your cooks? How do you clean it
There’s a grease trap at the bottom of the grill you need to periodically clean out.
I put it together by myself. But I was straining pretty damn hard when setting it down and picking it up. This grill is heavy as fuck. It's not fun to move up or down stairs if you assembled in your garage, than moved to your deck like me. But I have been lifting weights a long time, not trying to brag but I'm a pretty big guy and this grill is akwardly heavy to maneuver on your own. I probably wouldn't do it solo again unless I had to. I was just too dang excited to start it up wasn't going to wait for my brother to come over.
Yep, definitely suggest two people for the assembly.
What size fuse do you need to run that grill?
Just a regular outlet. Nothing special.
🌹❤️
Great smoker but I am also looking at Rec Tecs . I dislike pocelain grill gtates . Also does anyone know if REC TECs have the extra smoke function ? I can’t find that info ?
As far as I can find, they do not. I've been researching for about a month. Think I'm going iron wood over the timberline and rectech 1250
yes they have a super smoke option as well... it starts at 165 and goes to 200 I believe
Yes, RecTeq has an extreme smoke feature.
How do you empty the hopper to switch pellet types?
There’s a little trap door on the bottom you open to empty it out
Mantap om????
Only a Traeger would have WiFire connectivity.
