Completely frustrating video. Just a hint. If you advertise a video about stopping your border collie from pulling on a walk, actually explain and demo how to do it. If you are really interested in getting to have your border collie not pull on a walk, you will learn nothing about that from this video. Don't waste your time. Sorry.
my exact thought. People need to learn by seeing as anyone can sit there telling you what to do and also makes sense to them and not possibly the trainer. I love this guy and i follow their page as i have just got a border collie pup and i want to do things right as he knows what he is doing but I agree the video needs better editing
Agree 💯 ....what a joke video.... Just another UA-cam video that repeats the same words over and over and over garbage video if they want you to pay for something then just say it in the first 60 seconds but they're trying to generate an algorithm where people stay and watch their videos so they just draw it on it's a real dirty f****** s*** that UA-cam let's happen
9 minutes in and thers all ready bin 2 add breaks and I still don't know how how to train my dog.. If I didn't think heel walking was a good thing I'd would have not clicked on this video get to the point already!!!
In our current culture any sort of discipline is seen as abuse (both for pets and children). Thank you for touching on the fact that training and disciplining a dog is not negative, it results in the long run a much better relationship. Well trained dogs truly are a joy, and they know that you are happy with them so they are happy and have a great life too.
I'm one of those people trying to adopt a border collie thats a year old and wanted to make sure I at least knew something before taking the next step. Thank you so much for your videos
I've recently adopted a 6 month old border collie. She was very fearful when I first got her so I have been encouraging her to explore with the use of an extendable lead and she is very good now on this and very happy on walks. however I have now started walking her to heel which isn't much to her liking as she has learned to walk happily on the extension lead. Any tips?
I tried the changing direction technique with my 5 month border collie puppy and he did seem better but then on fourth try he lay down. Now he does that every time I change direction! Suggestions welcome...
Sorry, I have no suggestions but just wanted to say it's reassuring to know I'm not the only one who has not found success with the change-direction technique. All these youtubers make out that ANY dog can be trained to stop pulling in 10 mins of using the change-direction method. Well, I've tried with my collie hundreds of time and it's barely made any difference. She often pulls to the point of choking on the slip lead, especially when a car is passing!
4 months old bc puppy here. Tried everything (almost), slip collar, harness, changing direction..when cars appear, there’s no way to get his attention . We’re doing obedience training (puppy class), some skills he’s doing great (sit, stay) but as soon something moving fast appears…bye. I knew it would be challenging, but to be honest, I’m really really exhausted…which he can feel, so it’s a vicious cycle. Ideas????
SUMMARY: if you've tried all other techniques (such as food distractions) then find a trainer who isn't afriad to use a "harsher" disciplinary method such as a pong collar.
I just adopted a 11 month old boarder collie. He's lived in a shock collar. He's terrified of leash work & me touching his neck. Any help would be amazing!! He is good for a bit...yet he melts down sometimes while we try to walk.
I introduced my border collie puppy to a muzzle incorrectly and now he's so afraid of it! I'm dissapointed that I didn't do the research to introduce that tool properly. that's probably what happened to your puppy, someone used it wrong. I had the same thing with the crate, as a puppy he hated it. I reintroduced it correctly at 9 months old verses 2 months and he loves it now
Sorry you didn't find the answers you were looking for in our video. If you were looking for more demonstration based videos check out our main training channel, here's one of our videos looking at how to stop your dog pulling: ua-cam.com/video/DU1Kz7NWrWc/v-deo.html
Actually get a prong collar. It takes 2 minutes to teach a dog to walk properly. And no pain is involved. The struggle out there is incredible and so many people miserable walking their dogs.
Are you harnesses available, yet? Of course, using the harness is not a replacement for good heel training. I'm just thinking one designed by a behaviorist rather than a marketing firm would be much more ideal.
We're hoping the will be back in stock soon! We're working closely with our suppliers to get stock back in our store. As soon as we know more we'll let everyone know so keen an eye on our channels and instagram!
@@FenrirCanineLeadershello.. do you have a video that speaks to the home dynamics with different persons in the home. I am a new boarder collie puppy owner and I’m excited about teaching her my boundaries. However, I live with my bf and his presence trigger behavior that I don’t want in my puppy. When I’ve had conversations with him about the plan I have for her and him not supporting that. The response I get is “I’ve had a dog before” (10yrs plus) Its become sensitive topic and I know he cares about her but how can we work together towards training her without having te room in our relationship? Thank you in advance for you advice , wisdom and tips!
What a waste of time of a video. 13+ minutes of some dude telling you how nice it is to have loose lead walking, how important it is, and how good it'll make life, but not a single word about *how* to do it. Videos like this are even more frustrating than my dog pulling on his leash.
About the harnesses... Why don't you say it as it is? We are coming into a "vibe" where corrections are NOT DONE. Beating up, smacking, kicking, hurting the dog etcetera are NOT CORRECT corrections... But what you are actually saying: the "vibe" of "never correct your dog" is wrong... Let's just face it that that inspiration is just wrong... Corrections are okay, as long as they are into persception and animal-friendly
Every video I watch on this channel. After 3 min I give up and search someone who can really help me. Sorry guys but you say the same thing over and over. Feels like you want to sell me something. Make a video shorter but more informative. And actually show how to do it.

dogs pulling isn’t an immediate sign of disrespect. they’ve got four fast legs that aren’t necessarily designed to walk at our snail’s pace. just help them learn to slow down.
Everyone hating on “ no examples “ were never properly trained to listen lol. Sure a lot of what they say is repetitive but that’s because it’s the key to owning a well behaved dog. They need to trust you, want to listen and learn that not doing what you need is undesirable. Get those things down and the rest will fall in place. At least that’s what I’ve gotten from watching about ten videos
Hi Will, like the way you train dogs, fits into my style. Wanted just to say that every time you say "quick fire webinar" (or something like that), that i start to smile. Because i know that i can listen to you for more than 10 minutes then 😛 Keep up the good work!

Hey Jon, thanks for watching! We have a dedicated channel for live demonstrations and have a number of videos looking at how to tackle this problem, here's one for you: ua-cam.com/video/DU1Kz7NWrWc/v-deo.html
I HAVE JUST UNSUBSCRIBED; I am tired of these click bait video which go on for 14 minutes without giving the information they promise. All I got was use a choker or prong collar. What I want is some examples of which type, how to use them without causing harm or distress to the collie.
How to stop 2 border collies from pulling on a walk? Answer: Border collies have absolutely no need to be on a leash, (1) because they're the best off leash dogs on the planet when trained correctly and (2) they positively NEED an off leash walk for proper physical and mental stimulation. They're so easy to train that a young child could do it. When I see one on a leash it frustrates the hell out of me.
100% agree with you! My border collie Max enjoys his daily beach off-leash walks. I laugh when I see all the other leash reactive dogs pulling their owners along behind them while Max sticks like glue by my side until we pass them and then is free to run in and out of the waves again. Best breed ever!
This dude's videos are all like this...long form ads for his dog training business and/or his expensive online dog training courses. Half of it is just him telling you how good he is at training dogs not to pull and how fast he can get it done. Lol, he's like the Donald Trump of dog trainers 😂
Don’t watch this video! Not teaching you at all just wasting your time on listening to him explaining why pulling is annoying. We already know it jeez!

Basically use a prong collar, and don’t be afraid to cause it won’t hurt your dog.
