sorry - - this is how old people end up living in cars... if the job is that bad - - put YOURSELF FIRST - - - not by quitting - but by using it.... take a health leave -- - - bring charges against the company & or your boss if there is abusive treatment at play... ...make them lay you off as a final option... give you a severance & option to collect unemployment.... you come first - - doing some emotional idiotic sudden quitting move that does not take your rights into account is pure silliness... i say all this because you talk about having a "small emergency account set aside " - - - seriously - at this age you do not actually have a healthy savings & you need - to ' set aside a "small amount'"? scary - very scary lack of thinking.... unless there is much more to this job quitting story....
