I just finished season 9.. doesn't it feel like you lost all your best friends? Best way I can describe it is being a kid on the last day of school and your family has to move over summer break. Like everyone else i'm sure, I wish they made a 10th season and many more seasons after that, even though it ended so perfectly.
They were missing that character that is trying to look normal but is in reality little crazy that’s what Ryan was so now they need Andy to be like one of those characters
Back in the early seasons I thought andy would never fit into the Scranton branch. But at the end of season 9, he's one of the biggest parts of the office
hotman718 That's why everyone in the office was so shocked. They were expecting a silly song, but Andy was leaving it all behind and put it all out there in one song.
The office each had great character growth Michael - to care more about others and not care what others think of you. Pam- mot to control everything and be happy with what you have Jim- to put family before career and loosen up Dwight- that not everything will work out and let life roll on Andy- to follow your dreams even if the world tries to crush them Angela- that life isn’t all about cats and to be honest Darryl- to appreciate what you have now and better will come Kevin- to hold the chillie pot more carefully
This scene was always my favorite scene in the whole series. Even though they completely ruined Andy Bernard during season 9, this was one of the few moments of his that I genuniely liked. When Andy announces that he is about to start singing, everybody starts groaning and doesn't think much of it. But then as soon as words come out of Andy's mouth, it's actually really beautiful and everybody's faces go from mad to utterly shocked. This is a sad moment for me.

I instantly teared up at your comment. I feel that so much. Sometimes when I don't want to face how unfair life is I turn to this show to escape from it and believe in a better possibility. I hope I'm wrong about the world, and it really can be so sweet.

i really hated what they did to Andy at the end of the show. Andy cares about every single one, how in the world would he leave his gf and workers and never ask about them. it's just nothing like Andy. i understand that they wanted to end the show with Dwight as manager, but still they should've respected Andy.
I think they did that on purpose. Let me explain. Andy is a character who is bond to his past and he can't seem to get away from it. When he did this cruiser along with his brother, he felt like he finally understood what he lacks. But in the end, it wasn't the real answer. The song's clearly a subliminal message to say he's sorry for letting his prise get the better of him (as Angela told him)
Lyrics: I will remember you Will you remember me? Don't let your life Pass you by And weep not for the memories Remember all the good times that we had I let them slip away from us when things got bad How clearly I first saw you smilin' in the sun Wanna feel your warmth upon me I wanna be the one I will remember you Will you remember me? Don't let your life Pass you by And weep not for the memories Don't let your life pass you by And weep not for the memories Cause I will remember you Will you remember me? Don't let your life Pass you by And weep not for the memories Don't let your life pass you by And weep not for the memories Don't let your life pass you by And weep not for the memories A group of students sang this on the last day at our middle school. It still makes me cry every time.
Did anyone else think that Andy's rendition of the song is better than the original artists? Edit: 2,000 likes?!? Awesome to see all the office fans out there :) Another edit: came back to listen saw 4,000 likes. Even years later, the song makes me emotional. I'm absolutely overjoyed that this many people like the song or show :*)
I didn't cry during the finale. I cried in the penultimate episode. First at Jim's DVD for Pam and THAT CARD! Also Jim's advice to Dwight throughout that part. Then at this... Ed Helms is a hell of a musician
Livin the Dream is an underrated episode. If you ask me its the best episode. At some point or another the characters were all happy. And there were a lot of good and and somewhat sad moments in that episode. It gives off this "good times" kinda vibe where just about everything seems to be going right. There were some moments where Angela was having a hard time and where everyone was kind of making Andy feel bad but overall I loved the episode. I wish they didn't make Andy such a jerk in the last season but I'm still glad the writers did what they did cause we got this.
My boss played this version of the song on his last day, I only knew him for 2 years but he had been working there for 30 years and most of the people there had been there for at least 10 years. He started choking up and crying towards the end, and so did a lot of other people. From people in their 50's to people in their 20's most people started crying. He was an amazing boss. He reminds me of a more mature and self aware Michael Scott now that I think about it. Crying now as I type this. Fuck. Ezra if you are reading this, thank you.
Nope, the first time I saw that, as soon as he took off his mic my heart broke in two. I didn't even realize he said "That's what she said" after saying "it's gonna feel so good to get this off my chest" and taking the mic off. I realized after like the 4th time watching the series because that part always got to me. They added a nice touch with that joke and just the fact that he was speaking to us and yet we couldn't hear him, hitting us harder that he will be gone. Just beautiful genius art man
God, the end of The Office was unbearably emotional. They're all a bunch of messed-up morons, but dammit, they were OUR messed-up morons. I'll always miss this show, and be glad it ended so perfectly. And this song...WHERE ARE THE DANGED TISSUES?!?!?!?
I avoided the US Office like the plague, as a fan on the original UK version I always thought the US version would ruin it. I'm so glad I gave in to temptation and started watching the US version on Netflix. It blows the UK version out of the water.
When Andy is singing this song, we're not just seeing Andy paying farewell to his Co-Workers. It's Ed Helms paying farewell to the series with his Co-Stars.
It’s great to hear this song from a guy that went through his fiancé cheating on him, 2 break ups with the same girl and both times a guy stole her from him, dealing with Robert California as a boss, his family goes broke after his dad blew through their money, not being able to make his parents proud, and dealing with anger issues. It’s just nice he can find a happy place through music.
Andy was always one of my favorite characters. Toward the end I grew numb with all the other characters when everyone left him in the dust. Everyone agreed to have Nellie as manager, everyone hid Angela cheating on him, everyone didn’t show the tiniest bit of remorse when his family went bankrupt, and instead of understanding his horrible situation and mental health when he left to the Bahamas on his boat, Erin left him for another guy. Andy was betrayed by the entire office. And he still pulled through it all. Truly one of the greats
@@gibraltar2843 Yes. Music was Andy's coping device and source of strength through all of that, so it's fitting that he sings his goodbye and allows others to finally realize how talented he really is.

+Buz The creators of The Office proposed a follow-up show called "The Farm" to NBC, which would follow Dwight and Mose on Schrute Farms. THEY TURNED IT DOWN.
Ed Helms is so fucking talented, shame he's not given great material aside from The Office, Cedar Rapids and the first Hangover movie. Hollywood, this guy deserves MORE!!!
The Office was the most successful and highly rated mockumentary in history, I think Ed Helms was given the perfect roll. But you are right, he should be in more, he has sooooooo much talent and potential.
+Jeremiah Headdress Oh alright, sorry for the misunderstood, it's just that your made a counterargument with "but" in your comment so I got kinda of confused, anyway, English isn't my primary language so there's that.
Everyone is so upset about Andy not having a love at the end. He gained something much better. A sense of self worth. He wouldn’t have gotten that by continuing to date Erin with a return to normalcy. Also, she deserved someone who tried as much in the relationship as she did.
This should have been the end of the show, it was the most emotional and amazing song and it would have been amazing to show a montage of the office and all the fun/sad moments, and end with everyone looking at the office and then leaving.
I feel like the finale was a good ending to the series, but it would've been a nice touch if Andy announced his departure at Dwight's and Angela's wedding and played this song
I have no idea what to do with my life anymore. This show was my life :( I remember seeing memes for it and I finally watched the first episode and I was so confused yet the characters were so unique and lovable. I remember all through school I'd look forward to coming home, grabbing a snack, and going up to my room to watch the office. This show was probably one of the best things that ever happened to me. It taught me so much and every time I hear this I cry.
This song literally tears my heart apart. Ive never felt like this before. I dont know if I have ever cried so much from one episode. SPOILER When Michael came back for the wedding, I balled...

I just finished watching the office for the first time. I can’t believe how long I waited to watch it. What a beautiful show full of laughter and tears. Never expected it to touch my heart the way it did.
This was easily the only time I ever felt sad in The Office or it was until Creed sang his song then turned himself over to the cops after getting his last wish, to be with his friends for the last time.
I hope Ed Helms comes on here every once in a while and reads the comments. Andy was tragic, but everyone is tragic in an Andy way as we make our way through life. Just like Jim is the lover in all of us, Andy is the goof. Thanks Nard Dog (Ed)
Watched the office since the beginning, bought most seasons on dvd and have had Netflix’s for years. Iv seen seasons 1-7 probably 300+ times and that’s not exaggerating. After it ended it took me 5 years to watch season 9 because I didn’t enjoy it as much after Michael left and maybe deep down I just couldn’t accept it ending. But I just finished season 9 a couple days ago and woah season 9 wasn’t great but that ending was perfect. I needed that. I don’t ever cry but it got me. It got me good.
I KNOW RIGHT!! i finished seasons 1-7 so quick and watched them so many times but last two seasons were so tough. i felt the exact same. and i love it so much. the whole series is just so heartwarming and bittersweet, its as if its a huge part that is intertwined w my veins. just thinking about The Office makes me so happy
That moment when you tell yourself " I don't want this show to end." I re watch the office now because I miss new episodes. The finale was a tear jerker for me due to Andy's song.
Wallace was one of the most loving/caring characters on the show. Sometimes he just had to put his foot down and be the boss, but he was clearly a great friend to both Jim and Michael
@@AcD420 he was a good friend of Andy as well, he let him keep his manager position even after knowing that Andy was absent from the office for so long. Really Wallace was a gentleman.

She fought so hard this past year and once I got that call yesterday my whole world came crashing down. Haven't stopped crying at all and I feel huge hole in my heart now. She had a huge piece of my heart. That huge piece of me went with her. Love you so much Erica
I feel like Andy's development over the series is under-appreciated. He went from a suck up to a dude that got thrown around by everyone in the office to a person that was finally mature.

Andy became kind of a jerk in the last two seasons so I was so glad they gave him this ending, and then that amazing quote "I wish there was a way to know that you're in the good old days before you've actually left them." I think this version is better than the original. I love how all the cast is looking around at each other, it must have been so crazy for them to think that it was actually over. What an incredible TV show!
@@marco_nt Same. I noticed every time that they bring a jerk character into the office every person in the office loves them for some reason. D’Angelo was funny but he also insulted Jim and Pam and they still love them. Him and Michael got into a huge argument and they still love him. He was in a coma and couldn’t tell what he was doing while walking back into the office and they love him.
I was sobbing when I saw this the first time. Though the show became less realistic over time, the office is still my favorite show, it deserves at least 10 dundies
Andy was a very underrated character on the show.. that’s why I’m always disappointed when I rewatch the last few seasons, cause they did him so dirty.. cause they were trying to compensate for Michael leaving. That’s why I’m so glad he got this wholesome moment, it’s like a perfect summary of his character.
Nothing will compare to watching the office for the first time, No matter how many TV shows I watch. I will always remember the show that made me laugh because Jim put Dwight's stuff in Jello, or cry when Michael left the show, or just plain smile when I was sad.
I've just finished The Office for the first time! It seems that now a part of me is missing .. what a incredible mix of laugh, cry and happiness. I loved each second.
This song isn't even on itunes, spotify, or amazon. It really should. This is a really good song. Ed Helms makes the song so much better and I really want to own it.
Most of the singing from Andy during the show is either portrayed as goofy or comedic. (usually in his hilarious high pitch singing voice) However I am happy that he got to show his true talent, this honestly blew me away on the show.

Yep
I totally agree with Kevin
what about Stanley and Creed ?
This scene was always my favorite scene in the whole series. Even though they completely ruined Andy Bernard during season 9, this was one of the few moments of his that I genuniely liked. When Andy announces that he is about to start singing, everybody starts groaning and doesn't think much of it. But then as soon as words come out of Andy's mouth, it's actually really beautiful and everybody's faces go from mad to utterly shocked. This is a sad moment for me.
And then Phyllis says 'I think he will make it'😭😭😭😭😭 I wish this show would have never ended🥺
@@shiveepareek7526 I love this show as much as the next, but it would've gone so far downhill if they continued it. Honestly, they should've ended it when Michael left, but wrap it up with the wedding, etc.

i really hated what they did to Andy at the end of the show. Andy cares about every single one, how in the world would he leave his gf and workers and never ask about them. it's just nothing like Andy. i understand that they wanted to end the show with Dwight as manager, but still they should've respected Andy.
Abdulrahman Alfahhad they had to create a new Michael for the show to work and Andy transformed beautifully
@@V3rnSqwd5611 andy turned into a micheal definently
It was mostly because ed helms had a movie to work on
I think they did that on purpose. Let me explain. Andy is a character who is bond to his past and he can't seem to get away from it. When he did this cruiser along with his brother, he felt like he finally understood what he lacks. But in the end, it wasn't the real answer.
The song's clearly a subliminal message to say he's sorry for letting his prise get the better of him (as Angela told him)
The real Nard Dog would not leave Erin like that. That pisses me off 😩

Oh so you are a real life erin

Michael wants another slice of PIZZA Actually, i broke down when he announced he was leaving and everyone went silent..

100% agree
Facts
Andy was always one of my favorite characters. Toward the end I grew numb with all the other characters when everyone left him in the dust. Everyone agreed to have Nellie as manager, everyone hid Angela cheating on him, everyone didn’t show the tiniest bit of remorse when his family went bankrupt, and instead of understanding his horrible situation and mental health when he left to the Bahamas on his boat, Erin left him for another guy. Andy was betrayed by the entire office. And he still pulled through it all. Truly one of the greats
