- In this video, I'm going to show you guys how to remove the snorkel that is connected to your air box this miracle gets air directly from your radiator. What she do not want because if that's the fact you're just sucking up hot air. So let's take that worthless piece of 1 pound of junk out and I'm going to show you guys how.

Hi, I’m from Brazil... thank u for sharing this with us... I have a question ... it is the same procedure to delete the snorkel for the Ford Focus 2014?
Saúd Junior Yes it's from the air intake but the snorkel delete makes it sound even better on the 2014 focus it should be in the same place as not has been changes in 2017..Your very welcome I hope it helped you out.
TUFBUILDS yes it helped. I just wanna know if taking off the snorkel will bring some kinds trouble like dirt, dust into the engine ... and without the snorkel I will pull coldest ar than with the snorkel.

Saúd Junior Yes it will but it goes through cold air intake before your engine but so far I have not noticed any dirt going through the filter still runs the same just a little bit more faster

What kind of cold air intake system did you do? I've been looking to do the Steeda cold air intake
That is a specter air filter. Witch i switched out for a k&n oiled filter.
And the sound just changed by deleting just the snorkel or because of the racing ar filter? ... there is any problem or bad consequences for taking off the snorkel?
Do u face any issues till.today high temperatures? With open air filter box is there any risk?
There is no risk to having a open intake air system you have to think of an engine as yourself if someone were to grab their hands and put it around your throat would you be able to breathe that is how engines work so it's high temperatures your engine is just sucking the heat from the engine back in to the filter but at night time you will feel the throttle response a lot more better. But to answer your question it doesn't harm your engine.
Bro, to lift up those snaps with the flat head screwdriver when you insert the screwdriver all you do is Twist the screwdriver and it lifts it up you don't have to pull up like a psycho and break the top off of it.

Do you have an aftermarket CAI or airbox just that aftermarket filter?
No I didn't I was looking around for one cause it would have made the engine bay look better.
@@TOUGHBUILDSCUSTOMS Ah. I removed the snorkel too btw. You were right about the snorkel, there was no benefit of it and it was dirty. I may get an roush performance airbox though.
@@Tylnorton they do make wide snorkel for the focus as well but yeah man you should definitely get that roush are performance box definitely will work very well.
How much was the k&n filter?

The proper tool would be panel tool. It looks like a horseshoe very very small. You can get them anywhere.
That was just intake only making that sound? Have you done anything to the pipes? Cause it sounds too mean to just be a snorkel delete 😂
Lol this car only had a straight pipe from the cat back. Nothing was done to the air intake. The only reason for the snorkel is to keep the water from entering into your filter since I was living in California I didn't really have to worry about that at much. It does make it a little bit more noise when you delete that. But thank you she sounded really nice.
If you're running an open air box with an aftermarket filter the snorkel delete does nothing for you. You're already sucking in air from the engine compartment well before it sucks from that snorkel. And if you run the lid on without the snorkel you lose that throaty sound you have with the lid off. Even with an aftermarket filter. And I suggest the velossa big mouth if you're removing the snorkel. The only true way to get that throaty sound is either by heat soaking with airbox lid off which actually costs you power. Or run an open ended style air filter like the "green" filter you can find on amazon and run the lid on. The open ended filter doesn't seal off sound like factory filters do. With less heat soak as well.
Is that on a petrol or diesel engine

They do have their differences. In this case, that would be different to the 2017.

I don't think that sound is coming from removing the snorkel it's coming from you removing the resonator / intake silencer I don't know what removing the snorkel has to do with the sound
When you remove the resonator. Think of it this way you remove the snorkel to open the air box up more. When you do that more air is able to move in faster in witch case you are hearing the air filter sucking the air, thats the sound you hear.
@@TOUGHBUILDSCUSTOMS got you, alright yeah I just did everything in your video today but remove the resonator as well in my 2014 SE and it's pretty mean, I put the pedal down and was stunned the car started to swerve caught me by surprise but it takes off now, the cars running better then ever I just hope removing the resonator won't have consequences I see people with mixed feelings, but thanks for the video

How much hp and torque did you gain exactly , I couldn't see on the graph
Carlos Fletcher well for the final pool it's 150.15hp and torque is 130.65 just by doing the snorkel delete. That doesn't include any other modifications that you do.

Yes sir. Lower? If i said it in the video i might said the first number that came to my head. Lol. Poor blue passed away on 12/24/2018 from a dude that ran a red light. Yes stock they are.
You just removed the factory cold air intake snorkel in favor of sucking hot air from the engine bay into the engine. That snorkel is designed to pull in cold air from the high air pressure zone at the nose of the car when moving.

You know everybody said the same thing when I got my Ford Focus 2014 SE but here I am sitting at 127,000 mi and I've never had replaced anything besides brake pads and the tires once and I live upstate New York never had any issues every time I put the key in she starts right up
