    I know this wasn't the main intent but seeing your snails with that same ridge around their shells helped me confirm that my snail is just growing new shell and not his shell going bad from low calcium, so thanks.

      I’m so glad you found my video helpful in some way! Based on what i’ve seen over the last couple of years, it seems low calcium causes more of uneven cracks and physical parts of the shell missing. Also thank you for your nice comment 😁

    I have a mystery snail that is now my favorite pet I ever owned! I'm serious. I'd give my cat and dog away if I had to choose between them and MC Ren (that's his name). I'm I have multiple videos of him doing the craziest things. I didn't know snails were animals with a degree of intellect and huge personality. Idk if its just Ren that is like that, like I got the world's only snail that all day long goes from taking in air from the air stone into his air sac in order to make himself buoyant, then using the stream of bubbles for propulsion send himself to the top of the aquarium, usually landing clear on the other side. He does this ALL day long. It's like he does it for entertainment! Could that be?? I thought an animal had to have the intelligence of a dolphin or octopus or a crow in order to do things for entertainment. I used to think of snails as like bugs instead of animals ya know? The reason I say, " is he the only one?" Is because my other 3 are NOTHING like him. I've been pondering this for awhile now... Why is he so much more... idk... human-like I guess. The other ones don't jump off of things, and just do all the things he does. I have an idea of why their behavior is so different but it's just an idea I could very well be wrong but... They all get... pressured by him... like he uh... well he's very forceful with them and also VERY frequent. My idea is that maybe they are sore??? I'm sorry I'm very new to snails. Like you, (at the time of the production of your video) I just found out about their vital requirement for calcium. Anyways I just realized how much of my energy and life I am expending on some damn snails. I gotta go. #Isubbed2U:-D

      Oh yeah... lol I forgot my point of what I think the other 3 mystery snails are not outgoing (for lack of better words). He's always raping them. When he's not eating, sleeping, or flying through the air (through the water using air) he's forcing himself onto the other 3!! So maybe they are just really sore?? That's the only thing can come up with for a reason they are much more timid. Idk.
      .. I was just kind of putting myself in their place of constantly enduring that type of abuse and I kind of think I would behave more like they do vs they way he is so much more extroverted in contrast. Idk... what do you think??

      I love whe one of mine goes flying. They only do it occasionally, but I've seen them walk over the air stone, and lift off, as well as jumping off the wall onto the bubble stream, gaining lift, and doing a sort of super Mario double jump sorta thing. Great fun!

    I keep old oyster shells in my tank for my snails.
    Since in my tank, their shell color has changed. Old shell was lightwr color. New shell growth is more colorful and saturated in appearance.
    I'm guessing this means they are healthier in my tank than where I bought them?
    I hope so!

    • @VetasWorld
      @VetasWorld  3 роки тому

      That’s actually super interesting! Im not sure why it did that. As long as they are not messing with your snails or fish or tank levels, then maybe it’s okay!

    My snail acting werid first they don't respond and move in to shell and turn dark other day ..😢I thought those are dead to check either it is dead so i broke his shell before throwing out . After that I found there are many egg were there ... I put the in glass of water and little snail move to the top of glass ... Can I save those babies?

    • @VetasWorld
      @VetasWorld  Рік тому

      If you have an egg clutch, the clutch has to be out of water. I have another video on snail babies/eggs where you can see the general set up. Usually i have a plastic container w a little water, and put a seashell inside and the egg clutch on top, and a plastic lid over with holes (out of the water but near water in a humid environment). If the snails are already born you should relocate them into an established tank. Make sure they have plenty of space (maybe a 10 gallon) and that you are feeding them pleco waffers and that the tank has a heater and filter. I hope this helps! Please lemme know if you have any other questions!

    the she’ll on the first snail, it’s looks like it’s peeling, is it peeling or growing? because most of my snails shells are looking like that and I’m worried

    • @VetasWorld
      @VetasWorld  3 роки тому

      I feel like it’s a little bit of both-peeling and growing. I’d make sure to add some eggshells or calcium supplements to help the shell harden. Usually it’s not too much to worry about! Also depending on how many are in what size tank-it may also be from them not getting enough food. Adding pleco waffers (the one with added zuchini) are some food that I really recommend if you arnt feeding it already. Please let me know if you have any other questions!
