    I've gotten to the point where the small shards of undissolved eggshells mixed into my substrate and I kinda like the look of it.

    I put the powdered eggshells in the filter box so it's not visible in the eyes

      That’s a great idea when using a HOB or Canister Filter forsure! I’ll be doing that if I ever switch from the sponges I run.

    I just put the egg shells in the blender... I rinse the eggs, they put them in the oven a bit to dry them, then on to the blender.... nice powder

    I use reptile calcium, I always notice that different shrimp specific supplements and foods use different forms of calcium, I always wonder which is best.

    I have used the liquid ones with vitamin D and E with zero issues in the past. I just add crushed coral to the pump now or add a little calcium carbonate powder to the water. I always dissolve mine in a cup of water when adding. Calcium carbonate is the cheapest method because you can get tons for little $. I buy 20 pound bags off of Amazon.

    Awesome video and useful 🦐 shrimpy info.... however... I'm hoping this is the last video with the background noise (feedback from the recording device? Reminds me of when i used to play VHD tapes ❤😂.

    Do you reckon Reptile Calcium powder would be good enough? I've got plenty around from my lizards and am just getting into shrimp

      That's a great question, now I'm wondering the same thing, because like you I too have it for my lizards. :)

      Yes you can use it I just recommend shaking it in a water bottle with a little treated water before pouring it in. Because if you put it in straight it will have a lot of dust floating on top.

    Will adding a lot of crushed egg shells have any negetive effect on fish and shrimp?

    • @Ankit-ri8sv
      @Ankit-ri8sv 2 роки тому +2

      Yes the biggest risk is sudden swings in water quality. That's why it's best to leave a piece of dried eggshell in the aquarium or a pinch of powdered egg shells

    Help friend , can I use the calcium tablets for Cardina shrimp , will it chance the ph on the tank ?

    • @theshrimpscene4386
      @theshrimpscene4386  4 роки тому +1

      I have not used it with cardina shrimp before. I’m sure a little won’t hurt to help supplement them but I would test the pH before and after just so you know what’s going on. Caridina shrimp can be very very sensitive!
