🎶Hello musical friends! 🎶 🎵Which app do you prefer, Dorico or Sibelius? 🎵Why do you prefer that one? 🎼 Leave your answer in the comments below! 🎶Have a wonderful, musical day! 🎶
Always love hearing and seeing videos focused on making music with an iPad. I am interested in how you came to the conclusion that these two apps were the most popular in iPad?
I mainly focused on two extremely popular desktop programs that have programs for iPad. Since several composers utilize these 2 programs, I wanted to compare 2 popular desktop programs for composers thinking about starting to compose on the iPad! Hopefully I'll be able to compare more programs on the iPad for people who make music!
I did have a M1 MacBook Air a few years ago and used Sibelius exclusively but it stopped working a year ago so I got a M2 iPad Pro for composing music. However, Sibelius for iPad leaves a lot to be desired. It resembles nothing like the Mac version. The interface is awful and extremely limited. Now, I use Dorico and it’s simply better on the iPad. Way better! It’s not even a contest! The iPad version is very close to the MacBook version. The interface and layout is virtually the same although not full featured but really close. Dorico is simply superior over Sibelius on the iPad. The only thing I wish Dorico had for iPad is a world-class sound library like Spitfire, NotePerformer, or Berlin. The built-in libraries available are not the best but they sound fine but even that’s better than the tinny, thinness of the sound library for Sibelius for iPad. Nonetheless, Dorico is just miles better in every way than Sibelius if using an iPad in my opinion. However, I would LOVE to see Musescore 4 for iPad but only if it’s a near-virtual MacBook version.
