Clemens: I do not fear you
Dracula: you will
Best line of the movie
Same answer when Batman line said you will, in Batman vs Superman 😅
What makes that even more striking is that up to now, Dracula has only basically parroted the others as a way to mock them. This is him speaking, and only him.
"we have nothing to fear but fear itself." Seems very applicable in this situation.
not really, in addition to fear itself in this situation you also have to fear dracula
@@MrSartorius1 Good point. However, only once a person throws off a sense of HELPLESSNESS that comes with overwhelming fear can a person take control of a situation. This man is afraid, but that doesn't compel him into inaction, it helps him understand that he is in danger and seeks to remedy the problem. Hence, "we have nothing to fear but fear itself." He now has the power to solve his problems, rather than waiting for the end.
I was rooting for clemens in this scene! He was the last one still alive and straight up told dracula how he wasn't afraid of him, that he wasn't a god, etc when btw drac could have easily swooped in and snatched his head off but perhaps drac wanted to hear clemens out before making his decision to kill him or use him as a snack pack like he did the girl. I wanna think that clemens is somehow related to the van helsings or maybe after this movie ends he finds some van helsings and trains with them to hunt down dracula and other dark creatures. I love draculas monster form in this movie too! The make up is soo creepy, and he even talks!!!
@countrychic30. Drac could've possibly been intrigued by him too. He's like, "Here I am this immortal creature who's been around centuries and this puny brutha is calling me OUT??...hmmm, he's interesting." That's why at the end in the tavern he knocked on the floor with his cane saying, "Knock, knock, Clemens....ready for round 2. I wanna see how this plays out". 😆 That's my take.
@@blackolantern5666 Hey, I like that! Would be so cool if they did a sequel where Clemens hooks up with Van Helsing and company and becomes a vital player in their ultimate defeat of Dracula.
@@queenesther09 There is a fan story where Clemens gets involved in the main story of Dracula (he and Seward are revealed to be classmates. Seward, while still somewhat prejudiced, is trying to be open minded and Clemens can only watch Lucy's fate play out.)
It goes way beyond that. Dracula is not just the feral animal here. He is extremely intelligent. Perhaps he was once a man, perhaps not. But he is smart as a human and can take the form of one. He is also incredibly sadistic, playing mind games. So I think this scene and the ending scene fits his pattern of tormenting his victims. However, Clemens has earned a slight respect from Dracula. He views Clemens not just as prey but beyond that. A worthy adversary to play his immortal game of cat and mouse with.
He gave Dracula the best reason you suck speech ever
😂😂😂
"You want us to fear you! Underneath, YOU'RE afraid! You're afraid of what lies on the other side, as any other living thing!"
Wow. This brings to mind the part of the novel where, just before Dracula turns to dust, there's a look of peace on his face. It's always made me wonder if, like Lucy, Dracula was trapped in his undead form too, and even if he feared true death, when it finally came it freed what soul he still had and only brought relief.
Man! That Clemens guy is so brave when facing Dracula in this clip.
Sounds like he’s more in denial. They got him as an atheist who denies a god but just came face to face with the devil.
God your a shill 😂
@@RJLupin-xl6yfI’mean even in real life some believe in the Devil rather than God. Weird asf but that’s how’s it’s been for atheists for thousands of years.
U r so cool😊
@@Infamous41 what?
GREAT MOVIE, my goodness, everything about is is absolutely brilliant, from the sets to the actors. Gut wrenching at times, especially with what happens to the little boy, you have to see it for yourself!
Have been lucky to see this movie, its absolutely amazing, and at times gut wrenching.
The scene where the girl killed herself in sunlight was sooo powerful
@@flemutter7211you spoiled it you twit 🤬
I actually enjoyed this film, i was rooting for Drac the entire movie. Loved this monstrous version of him, epic design, looked like count Orlok.
You're not supposed to route for Dracula, that's the whole point.
@@matthewcooper4248people can root whoever they want
Things here remind me of "THE STRAIN" series... the big coffin with dirt with worms to draculas carrrying a cane 😊
This is one of my favorite horror movies in years! It's such a breath of fresh air in Hollywood
😂😂😂yeah it was so unique, never been done before….
Everything's been done before. This was done well. You think Halloween was the first slasher? @@Lion-O-Richie2040
Idk why people are bitching about this one. It’s tells the story on what happened on the Demeter which is a great concept in my opinion
This movie is worth the hype. Kudos.
So many others on this ship clung to false faith, and false courage.
But not Clemens. He was scared, yes...but angry enough at Dracula's cruelty and bloodshed that he defied his own fear. He knew he was probably going to die, but he would make DAMN sure he had his say first, so Dracula knew that there was at least ONE human on that ship who saw him for what he really was.
As Alucard would say, only a human has the right to kill a monster.
the very famous subsaharian doctors of the 1800s
Plot Twist.
I am the Night!
I am Batman!
I would literally like a horror movie like this with batman as the monster or killer
😂😂
Dracula killed everybody onboard except him lol 😆
The black guy doesn’t die in this movie 🙏🏻😂
@@123FUG33woke
because in all the media dracula was a warrior he respect a fool that is ready to die fighting
I kind of hear in the background the sound of a train in a subway noise here when Dracula appears before Clemens.
Wait a minute. Are the wings part of Dracula's arms?
In his batform yes.
I do wish they hadn't gone with a bat creature form and instead had used his canon ability to shapeshift into a regular bat or a wolf. But this is still really good, clearly heavily inspired by Nosferatu.
@@kieranadamson3224 what about the creature Gary Oldman's Dracula turned into?
@@scotthamp384 I've not heard of that, I've only ever really read the original novel. What else could he become? I vaguely remember something about him being able to become mist or shadow but that could be me misremembering.
@@kieranadamson3224 you haven't seen the 1992 movie?
Sad to hear that the box office records are poor.
IT JUST CAME OUT YESTERDAY! You can't expect to get your entire budget back in just one day. Don't considered a Movie to be a bomb until it's no longer in theaters.
Welcome to the age of wokeness.
@@the_darklord5896 There is no such thing as wokeness. And even if there is, What does this have to do with Wokeness!
@@majorfanboy2005 I disagree.
Made no sense that it was released now, If i was the studio head, October would have been the release month.
It was a better movie than Barbie.
Clemens is a man trying to understand an incomprehensible deity. He wants to find the why in all of this. The truth is sometimes there is no why
Yeah Dracula is an interesting character I like this version and the castlevania Netflix anime version
@@Bonez767I like how different castlevania Dracula is than most others. There he has a legitimate reason to wipe humanity off the face of the planet. He is more sympathetic than the others and I think that’s pretty dang cool
@@Bonez767 This version proves that for all powerful Dracula is, he's ultimately mortal and his biggest fear is death itself. Clemens is just pointing out all the proof that makes this so. He's not immortal: just long-lived and (in many cases) unageing, but not deathless.
He actually respects Clemens for figuring all this out. That's why he lets him survive this journey.
@@girl1213the one who can see him for what he really is behind his mystery
@@girl1213 he is not mortal bruh he made a deal with the devil he need the blood of the humans but he cant be kill
Excellent movie! I saw it last night. Corey Hawkins aka Clemons was great in this movie. Love him!❤😊 I still want to know what happened to his character on The Walking Dead?🤔
Dr Dre vs Dracula huh?
I enjoyed this scene; yeah it's a bit cheesy and the movie itself is solid (with the exception of that really weird cut near the end) but nothing special but I do think what Clemens says makes sense; those who are so desperate to stave off death that they become monsters lose what made them special. They think “Oh I'm so powerful now!” when in reality they gave up humanity to become parasites.
I don't fear death 🦇🩸🦇
You do. Your need to feed proves it. Every kill you make proves it. You're not afraid of delivering death. You're afraid of death coming for you.
this movie will become a classic, still sad for the bad luck at the bx office.
Clemens in the sequel going by the name: Abraham Van Helsing
Well I know how this story ends anyhow
I'm betting they're going to subvert it in some way. My guess is one of the crew members left for dead awakes in the final shot, probably turned
Nope for the both of ya'll.
Keanu Reeves and his crew go after him 😃
Dracula pulled like you want to run that by me again? I thought I heard something out here😂😂😂
This movie was extraordinary.
Hate the fact this movie wasnt released in cinemas or on dvd here ireland was actually looking forward tk seeing it
Dr. Dre vs Dracula
Part 2 pls
Can't believe this movie went under the radar while bird brains flock to see Barbie of all movies smh
❤💯⚘
Hardly a confrontation.
Great movie unfortunately people did not appreciate it 😂😂
The netflix version seems way better
There's a Netflix version?
The Netflix version was good...except for the 3rd episode.
@@youtuberzero2583 Yeah, it's like a 3-part miniseries with each episode being roughly 90 min long. The 2nd episode deals exclusively with the voyage on the Demeter.
@@tech-bore8839 I appreciate the info, thank you.
I hope they make sequel of this~ clemens hunt down dracula hehe 😮
Dracula the God of all Vampire's vs shaking in his boots loud mouth normal weakling human with a team of beyond terrified normal weakling humans = The God of all Vampire's Dracula wins flawless victory 😂💪💪😈
Filme subestimado
Remember, the crucifix doesn't work against Dracula in this movie. The approach to the clash between humans and the vampire is absolutely secular, and Clements is a doctor, a man of science. By his words, Dracula is reduced to an ordinary living being, disconnected from the demonic aura that emanates in Stoker's book.
Demeter is a film about Nosferatu, not Dracula, so it embodies the illness and gloom of losing hope, rather than the idea of a supernatural being whom brings a darkness that can be fought with faith.
You sleep in dirt!!!
So that is supposed to be Dracula? Is this an origin story or something?
Yep, it's Dracula. The movie is based on the "Captain's Log", the chapter of Bram Stoker's novel about his voyage from Romania to England.
@@lucagz6481an entire film adaptation of a single chapter from the novel 😅 a bold move
@@ashtreesystem5265 Netflix did a 3 part series called Dracula that was based on the same and it was pretty excellent!
@@ashtreesystem5265it was that great 😈✌️
@@ashtreesystem5265 just goes to show that for all the dozens of adaptations of Dracula that have been done, there’s still so much to mine from that novel
Nothing like the real Stoker character. He was human-like and pale when he didn't have his liquid lunch. Traditionally he can get women to find him alluring. This movie appease to fans of he tales of a deformed alien who strikes-and-hides in a spaceship.
So what. Having things be exactly the same all the time would be boring.
Or were you just desperately trying to show off your knowledge of the book for clout?
@@somanytakennames😂😂😂
Yes, but in the novel, he takes a number of different forms, even when feeding. And he picks off members of the crew on the Demeter exactly as this film portrays, by striking and hiding on the ship.
I think this is what he really looks like and the human form is just a facade
Should I start crying that stokers version didn’t look like vlad the impaler?
Stfu.
The lead character is a terrible actor. Hard to understand his English.
Looks very boring alot of walking and talking and spooky standing😂😅😂

Batman has faces Dracula
The black guy ruins it. I'll have to pass.
No one cares :)
He seems fine to me, but then again I’ve literally ONLY seen this clip
His name is Corey Hawkins.

Maybe we should have Dracula Chan or something - a Chinese vampyr
The actor that played Clemson was just awful with his facial expression i hate how woke it was lol

Very silly film
This film was an absolute let down……wasn’t scary at all, the characters were weak and couldn’t care less what happened to them. The tiny backstory of Dracula was weak.
