With my bone graft.. blood was taken from my arm and added to the graft. I wasn't even told what the material of the bone graft was or if I had a choice.. These days it's like don't ask any questions--just do as I say.. after all I am the oral surgeon.
I asked for and had implanted synthetic bone graft vs. grandpa cadaver human bone or Benny the Bovine. Healing just fine going for single tooth implant on #19
My son just had this done, they used bone from his wisdom teeth. They took them out and then did the bone graph all on one surgery. It was 2 hours long
Please mention how painful it is after the anesthesia wear’s off. Even with pain meds it’s very painful for a whole week straight. For some people it’s less and for some it’s more days of pain, overall the recovery process for the first week or so is very painful.
I just got mine done (extraction+bone graft) a few hours ago and when the anesthesia wore off, I took some pain medication and it's not too painful, it's more uncomfortable than painful for me
How is the appearance of the overall gum after the procedure gets over. Do you feel anything un-natural at the bone graft site? I heard that this procedure just starts a body reaction and body replaces the grafted bone with the natural bone. Plz reply

I looked it u at kriss ai and it said individuals with osteoporosis can still undergo bone grafting, but there are some important considerations and precautions to take into account.
I’ve decided that all the dental surgeons in my area have a God complex. My recent one didn’t believe me during our initial meeting that my tooth hurt, but he found an infected extra root that hadn’t been dealt with years ago when I had a root canal. He didn’t believe me during the surgery when I said I could still feel the sharp pain while he was drilling into my jawbone. I had to bear down, wrap my legs around the bottom of the chair and take it. He didn’t give me antibiotics or anything for the pain afterwards, and my stitches were coming loose by the time the anesthesia wore off. He didn’t schedule a follow up visit. He didn’t tell me what kind of material he used for the bone graft, and he was frustrated with me for taking a few minutes to violently shake in the chair after he was done. Dude worked at the Pentagon so I suppose his ego took precedence over my safety. He didn’t even know the difference between osteoporosis and osteopenia. Something everyone who’s doing a bone graft should know. The surgeon I had before him knocked one of my crowns out on Mother’s Day and basically said “Oh well, have your dentist fix it” and stormed out of the room when he was done. He knew full well that in the United States, one has to wait 6 months to have something like that done. I lost that tooth because of him. His assistant felt so bad she gave me her Mother’s Day flowers when I left. I spent 5 months in a hospital that joins with a military hospital. One of my surgeons was a military surgeon. I was known as a tough and “stoic” patient. I didn’t complain. I was always kind. I was not a crybaby. I do have a little bit of medical PTSD from almost dying twice during that stay. There’s no reason these two local dental surgeons needed to treat me like I’m less than human except that they are sadistic sociopaths. I’m just here trying to figure out if I’m healing properly because there’s no way in hell I’m going back to that guy to ask.
I had a dentist who didn't accept that I could still feel pain after he had injected anesthetic. I learnt to tell him to forget anesthetic and just get on with it. Then I moved to a new location. Saw a new dentist, and when I explained about the anesthetic not working, he said a few men have nerves routed differently. With your permission I'll try a couple of strategies. I said ok, and his 2nd strategy worked. After that, anesthetic worked just fine.
how long do I need to wait if I have an abscess that needs to heal after the extraction....is it better to let the abscess and the inflammation heal after the extraction before getting the bone graft? I just had a badly infected root canal with an abscess pulled today and have been given lots of antibiotics and even steroids for a week before getting the bone graft......But I feel like I should wait longer.
Hello Did you heal within a week or did you wait longer? my wife had a root canal 6 months ago now she has an absence so today they are pulling it out.
@@cruzrv I think it's better to get it pulled after an abscess as soon as possible cuz' it means that tooth is not salvageable anymore. Unfortunately, after marriage ving to Canada, dental care was no longer affordable for me (whereas in my home country, it is easily payable out-of-pocket). So, I had to wait like 5 years before I was in a good enough financial position to get it pulled and replaced with an implant.
I had a bone graft 6 months ago on tooth # 9 and the site underneath the tooth where the membrane was.It is still dark red. Is that normal ? Anybody can comment if you have the same experience. Thanks.
Hello , I ask KRISS AI about your concern and it said It's not uncommon for the healing process to vary from person to person. A dark red color at the graft site can sometimes be a normal part of healing, but it could also indicate inflammation or other issues. It's best to consult with your oral surgeon or dentist to ensure everything is healing properly. They can provide a thorough examination and give you peace of mind. Hope this helps!
@@rienne89 I would like the bone graft remove. Do you know the estimate cost of bone graft removal ? I hope you can answer. Who is the best specialist to remove it. Is it easy to remove it. I hope you can answer. Thanks
Where exactly do you get this ‘Cadaver Bone?” From desperately poor countries like India? Somalia? Democratic Republic of Congo?? I’ve read about infections people have gotten from Cadaver Bones! Tuberculosis for instance is common in these desperately poor countries. When someone in America donates their body to science they’re not donating it to dentists so they can use their bones to make a profit!
Sometimes the bodies donated to “science” wind up as military property to study the effects of explosives. At least one family lost their grandmothers remains this way. If hospitals can make money off it, they’ll do it.
I have a question. I'm getting braces and I needed teeth removed because of overcrowding. Can the teeth shift into the empty spaces after bone grafting? I'm kind of worried about that because I've seen that bone grafting helps people to get implants but I'm not trying to get implants. It would be great to know!
You should ask your orthodontist for their recommend on bone graft, given the reason you are getting teeth pulled. In the case of orthodontic, you DO want the teeth to be able to shift. That is the whole reason to get them pulled.
