This is one of those instant classic songs. I take my family to at least one Minor League baseball game a year and I play this song on the way to the ball park every time. It's definitely a baseball fan's anthem.
I feel old. I was 13 when this was filmed at a minor league stadium in Chattanooga in the fall of ‘93. My friends parents knew one of the producers of the video so we got to drive up from Atlanta and sit in the audience for a number of the baseball scenes. I’m 41 now. Time flies. Great song and fun times.
I also see the flip side of this. You grow up and realize just how small your town is, and your love where you're from, but it's almost suffocating, especially knowing there's this whole big world out there
It was the closing song to Major League 3, Back to the Minors. They dubbed in “Double A” when they played it in Bowie which is where the Orioles affiliate, the Bowie Baysox are located.
Filmed at Engel Stadium in Chattanooga. If you were to be standing outside of Engel Stadium right now at this time of night, you're likely to get murder raped.
"We like our beer flat as can be, we like our dogs with mustard and relish. We got a great pitcher what's his name? Well we can't even spell it." These are the finer things in life.
My FIRST favorite country band, the band that got me to be a country music fan, when I was a little kid. Alabama is the best country band, by record sales and fan base ever.
This song really brings back memories. My father driving me to school and listening to cassette tapes. This was one of those songs we listened to a lot and had to rewinding up the tape. Good memories.
I dreamed my whole life of going to the SHOW.. major league baseball that is..well less than a week before all stars .I crashed a motorcycle into a telephone pole... broke my body half into..the doctors told my dad I wouldnt see the sun come up the next day..well 30 years later im still watching it come up ..plus along the way had several more near death experiences three or four major concussions also saved three people's life.. only could I do this but by the GRACE OF GOD...AMEN!!!
As a kid I watched the San Antonio Missions play, then in the Navy I got to watch the Key West Cubs and the Tidewater Tides. Minor League ball was great fun!
Not too long ago, I saw a vlog of Laurence Brown of Lost in The Pond, along with his wife & an Irish friend, take in a baseball game at Wrigley Field. NOT a small town, but they were in the nosebleed section--last row of topmost balcony. This song kept running thru my head; it still is, several days later!
I can't speak for other fan bases, as I don't follow other sports, but baseball is great because for 162 games, it turns us all into kids again. My friends and I, for example, we still collect baseball cards, still watch the games, still wear the gear, PROUDLY. We're in our 40s and 50s. That part hurt to type. Call it arrested cognitive development if you want, but, I call it love and knowing what's important. I call it loyalty.
WHAT I LEARNED OF LIVING IN KY...AND FREQUENTLY IN TENN.. AMAZING HOW SWEET PEOPLE ARE AND THEY TAKE THEIR AAA BALL SERIOUS.. SUPPORTING EACH OTHER. NOT THE ALMIGHTY DOLLAR.. REFLECTING ON SOME GOOD TRUE MUSIC
Was part of the soundtrack to Major League 3: Back to the Minors. About the Twins AAA affiliate, South Carolina Buzz challenging their parent club to a game.
I am going to hit it deep, too. Every year after Christmas I go back to a genre of music. This year : It's early 80's country music. I know, but I had to make a pit stop on this video first before I dive in this morning.
I,m 20 now. And listen country music, like these songs. 🙂 I'm from Bavaria Germany. U have a good music over there. I remember my trip in the US last year. Saw the wonderful places. God Bless you!🙏🙏❤️😇
@@DerBayer05aww same to you too young man and haha Bavaria alot of my kin is from there and the Rhineland..and glad you liked your trip and our music at least good music older country..the newer stuff meh..and you have a blessed day yourself..
Great song once again baseball or softball are two sports that will never die I pitched for little league in Orange burg south Carolina and only pitched one no hitter but I got one hard to do never made it to majors but I did get that no hitter great time of my life
From seeing the Sacramento River Cats to seeing the Red Sox’s and Cubs all play in one year of baseball. Damn it I love the shit out of baseball I don’t care who is playing.
Whenever I coached my kids Nicholas and Christina in baseball ⚾. Nicholas was my pitcher-- he likes John Smoltz and Christina was my hindcatcher and 3rd baseman-- she liked Chipper Jones. Good old days. Yes-- we were The Braves. ⚾⚾⚾⚾⚾
As a Japanese, I think this song is all baseball fan’s anthem.
I love baseball.
I love Alabama.

“Suddenly were all grown up and this old towns not quite so small”. Idk about anyone else but this one hits me in the feels. SO TRUE
I also see the flip side of this. You grow up and realize just how small your town is, and your love where you're from, but it's almost suffocating, especially knowing there's this whole big world out there
@@savannah8243 I don't get that I agree with the other viewpoint to me the great big world is what sounds suffocating
and you know you always have to give the Ump static one of the highpoints of the game!!!!!!!!!!!!and don't forget flat beer and Mustard and Relish

Chokes me up a but every time to this day
One of my favorite songs ever! Takes me back to the summer I was turning 14. One of my favorite summers ❤⚾️
Carolina Mudcats & Chattanooga Lookouts were the teams in this video. Funny thing is, at the time the video was shot, they were both Double A teams.
***** The Mudcats are now a Single A team. Pensacola took Carolina's place in the Southern League. I live about an hour or so north of Chattanooga.
Filmed at Engel Stadium in Chattanooga. If you were to be standing outside of Engel Stadium right now at this time of night, you're likely to get murder raped.
Timothy M I walking around Chattanooga at night right now not getting murdered or raped.
Yea
I swear after this video you saw their caps everywhere. Even here in Detroit.
My son use to listen to this song before every game in high school and summer league...He loves baseball still does❤
This is the first country music group I ever listened to. This song never gets old. On that note... GO FRESNO GRIZZLIES!!!
For some reason that home run at the end kind of brings a tear to this old dog’s eye!!
The greatest band of all time

Ik it’s infected me
A song that I can never get enough of!
Baseball will always be America’s past time
This song is beautiful in its own way and kinda catchy
The time when everything sounded great on the station.
"We like our beer flat as can be, we like our dogs with mustard and relish. We got a great pitcher what's his name? Well we can't even spell it." These are the finer things in life.
I'm from Wisconsin we so add cheese curds and brats. Than were talking.
Joshua Edwards right amen
No
Joshua Edwards your god damn right
You're darn right!
This song is all about not having to seek perfection to have a good time.
My FIRST favorite country band, the band that got me to be a country music fan, when I was a little kid. Alabama is the best country band, by record sales and fan base ever.
Don't know how I missed hearing this song before or buying it because I love Alabama!

Was able to go to one of their concerts years ago. They helped me love country music.
This song really brings back memories. My father driving me to school and listening to cassette tapes. This was one of those songs we listened to a lot and had to rewinding up the tape. Good memories.
About 20 years ago I bought their 40 greatest hits CD, but this song is still a classic to me.

Anyone that played baseball when they were a kid knows the feeling this song is trying to convey.
"Major League, Back to the Minors" One of the funniest sports movies ever------Loved the mascot flipping the opponents the bird!
Not too long ago, I saw a vlog of Laurence Brown of Lost in The Pond, along with his wife & an Irish friend, take in a baseball game at Wrigley Field. At Plymout Indiana there's a wonderful High School Ball Park. This was a standard song played over the PA.
This song should be in Cooperstown at National Baseball Hall of Fame.
