Idea interesting. 1)The drawers would be inaccessible during duration of golu. 2)the drawer handles will bean obstruction when placing items on the steps so made. Can the drawers have inbuilt slots that do not protrude like the handles?

Yes...the handle is not an issue. Instead of a protruding angle. .a ring dangling handle can be fitted.
