you are an absolute legend. so cool you can get all this going with all the specific software versions & things. i hope devs continue to support and improve accessibility in software. macOS sux
After 30 years in Windoze, I am in my second year of Linux. It always encourages me to witness UA-cam, Linux content creators like yourself. Thanks! I have one Arch based PC and a couple of Fedora systems. Hyprland on all.
hi. Could you make a podcast about what a blind person who is new to the Linux world can do? by the way, you cna try floorp or zen, that's forks of firefox
Thats wicked dude! I never considered what an Arch install would be like for those with visual impairments. You seemed to tackle an Arch install quicker than my first time, congrats! It would be cool to hear about your thoughts on how accessible software is in Linux.
my first time installing arch wasn't that good. I couldn't get orca to work that was until I realised I needed to enable espeakup.service and have alsa utils installed, that was back in 2021. I learned from that. it may take a while to find it but do consider watching my arch install video from october 2021
What kinda keyboard do you use? Braille keycaps I'd imagine, but any other customisations? I used to be a MacOS/OSX user and always thought the accessibility on Mac OSX was decent. Never even thought about how it is on Linux. This was a good informative video. All the best with your channel!
no. our computers are set up the same way our sighted pears can see them. all we do is set our screen readers up. and, depending on the computer in question. we sometimes use internal speekers or as is the case with my laptop, external high quality ones which wern't cheap. the only accessible linux desktop is the mate desktop. which is recommended for orca users
@@jordanlivesey4715 I remember being a kid who used linux a bunch and when dad took my monitors away as an punishment i pulled out my speakers and turned on orca, just used the desktop as normal, orca is very good and reminds me of dolphins for some reason
Do you use grub init tunes? They help me catch when the headless machines have some boot issue. I also use specific melodies in my bash prompt to indicate the exit status of the last command
computing is for everyone. glad you were able to install arch ❤(i use arch btw)
Great work Jordan.

Brotherman, lots of people struggle with this stuff with working peepers.
Do blind people use monitors or is it just an dummy output for xorg to work and they just use speakers
