When i bought my 84 Gpz 1100 it had been sitting in a garage for 27 years. The fuel injectors and fuel pump were toast and parts not available .. Installed a set of mikuni 34 carbs to get the bike running while trying to source parts for the fuel injection system. That took about 2 years. Bike was worth it with only 2300 miles on odo. Fuel tank was rusted, brake master cyl were shot.Bike now runs like a new machine. I am 71 years old so i don;t have a need to go fast anymore, old bones take to long to heal. I have a nice collection of bikes including 2 Honda Cb350f models. The one Honda i found in a trash pile had not been run since 1978 motor was seized tighter than a ticks ass. With a little marvel oil and acetone and heating the cyl barrel with MAP gas was able to free up engine. She doesn't burn a drop of oil. those old Honda engines are amazing.
Wow 1983, I was 20 years old and just married, The GPZ1100 was one of the superbikes of my dreams, at the time I had a Suzuki GS550E which was the closest thing I could afford, great post man
I have the same bike .My advice would be to back off adjustment at handlebar ,turn adjustment barrel in all the way., then do your adjustment at engine case do fine adjustment at clutch lever.
Yeah. I picked up the other one about 6 months ago for parts. Was thinking of building another GPzed. But let’s be honest there is only one GPzed for me. Thanks for watching.
While you're in the area of the clutch lever, don't forget to spritz the lever's hinge pin. It's an easily-forgotten bit of maintenance, and can make quite a difference to how the lever feels when you put pressure on it.
Just spotted that the clutch lever seems to be bend inwards and limiting „full pull“. It may be worth a check… Keep up the great work. Love the content you are making 👍🏼 Best regards from Germany!
Always have liked those bikes. The progenitors of the ninjas. Shop manual, very cool. Maybe one day you can find the other half in paper form. If you ever get bored, look at the Clymer manuals. How much would it take to make the parts bike a whole bike?
I have found any wear in lever pivot greatly reduces amount of lift I have removed my clutch levers and bushed the pivot hole plenty of grease and good lift at clutch.
I would look to searching a replacement clutch lever as the one fitted is slightly bent, and its not giving you the full amount of pull towards the bars. Also check to see if the steel ball is still in place between the clutch push rod and the clutch push rod pin. If it were me I would also remove the sprocket cover and check over the clutch release mechanism, they have a tendency to get full of gunk and stiffen up everything associated with it, 👍😎. Great video as always Eric.
I've been following this series from the start, and all your others and am enjoying the channel ... One request for us (me) from across the pond ... could you now and then refer to the Kwacker as a Gee Pee Zed instead of Gee Pee Zee? .... Joking BTW ... but!!!
Are you talking about the green mini bike. If so that one is off limits. It’s a 75 MT1-B predecessor to the KV-75 and it’s for my Grandson’s such a cool little bike. Thanks for watching.

Nice!
Such a good looking bike
It really is. And a kick in the pants to ride.

This is an incredible motorcycle. I want to add a Suzuki GS1150E to the GPz. Thanks for watching.
I've had good results with a Motion Pro cable lube tool, it allows you to force lubricant through the entire length of the cable.
Yes, that tool is the way to go, a couple shots of WD40 followed by some aerosol cable lube and you're done.
@Tomw-de3ee Thanks I am going to order one. Thanks for watching.
Sure do miss my GPz750. Best bike I've ever owned.
GPZ750 is a great bike. I would live to have one. Thanks for watching.
Nice work. That bike will get better and better to ride because of all the “little” things 👍🏻
It’s such a great bike that deserves a little attention. Thanks for watching.
I have the same bike .My advice would be to back off adjustment at handlebar ,turn adjustment barrel in all the way., then do your adjustment at engine case do fine adjustment at clutch lever.
It is such an amazing motorcycle. Great tip. It is what I ended up doing by following the service manual. Thanks for watching.
You have two GP ZEDS 🎉
Yeah. I picked up the other one about 6 months ago for parts. Was thinking of building another GPzed. But let’s be honest there is only one GPzed for me. Thanks for watching.
I forgot to ask how is the compression on the engine now ? Has it improved ?
Haven’t rechecked it.
Yeah all the details that count and makes it reliable….old bikes😅
You are so right. This is such a great motorcycle. Thanks for watching.

looking forward to the complete maintenance video on the sweet GPZ
Me too. Thanks for watching.
I have a 84 gpz1100 that's been built for street strip. I traded a Yamaha blaster for it. Getting ready to sort out the carbs and clutch on it.
That’s awesome. This is such a great bike. Thanks for watching.
Good deal man I love that bike. 🏁🏁🏁
This is an incredible motorcycle. It has come a long way since I got it. It was left outside for years without spark plugs. Thanks for watching.
I was kinda hoping the silver GPz becomes a whole bike. But if it allows Ol’ Red to be OEM again, I’m all for it.
The silver one will be a running motorcycle maybe less a few parts. Its first mission is to keep Ol’Red going. Thanks for watching.
I like to grease up the clutch cable inner sheath if at all possible, or ad a dab at both ends, and let it work in
That’s a great tip. Thanks for watching.

Good eye. I will check it out. Thanks fully I have another bike to pull parts off of. Thanks for watching.

The parts bike is complete just has low compression. Long term plan is to pull the engine and rebuild it. Thanks for watching.

Thankfully I have a full parts bike. Thanks for watching.
Lazy! Take the cable off. How's the Laverda progressing?
We are waiting on parts for the Laverda. Should have an update soon. Thanks for watching.
