My daughter is a rescue mom and she often has litters of puppies or kittens to foster until they are ready for adoption. Her animal shelter sponsors that and provide the shots, any medications that might be needed, and spayed and neutering when they are old enough. Its been fun for her and she usually gets the "problem" litters, like mothers with 3 legs, large puppy litters, etc. I give her a lot of credit for the volunteer time she gives to these precious babies until they can find their forever families.

Good you had it done. It so much better for the animal and fir you on the farm. I used to have my animals fixed as soon as possible and then you can enjoy them with out all the hormonal staff. Have a great weekend it id Friday afternoon with me already. 🙏❤️
He's a dog with a job! No sick days allowed! He'll find a way back to his herd. But a day to recover from anesthesia is a good idea, but later, he'll recover better with his herd. 💖💖💖

The male dog we had wasn't fixed but we have had 2 females done, a German Shepherd years ago she had to have full hysterectomy because she got a bad infection, she had already had 2 sets of puppies and a staffi when she was 19 months old, the vet advised us too and she had been in season. But because of the breed she said it would be for the best. I dont know if males are the same but we were advised to cut the food down however both females still put weight on. Hope he recovers very soon. Xx
Sometimes our animals need to be fixed. Silas knows that y'all love him and it shows. He feels safe back home. He'll be up and running around in a short time. Hugs🤗Love❤& Prayers🙏
It was for his own good, not all neighbors would be happy if he was roaming looking for girls. It seems the males usually recover faster (less invasive and no muscles cut). My daughter's golden prefers to ride on the floor. I don't know if the seats make it harder to balance? She now just flips the back seat up in her truck so he can just have a little more room, and he is totally happy.
My local shelter doesn't do anything like that. No cheap alternative's for spaying and neutering unless you go to Oklahoma CIty. That's why we have so many stray animals around.

We use those services to try to get cats dropped in our area under control. If it wasn't for that service we couldn't do it. People, spay or neuter your cats, those cute kittens grow up, get thrown out of the house, and the streets end up full of helpless kittens. Feel better soon Silas!
Hi Myke & Tonya. I know how you feel when our pets get sedated we feel so bad for them. But spaying & neutering is the bed for animals. I have a Great Pyrenees Bruno aka Boone-Boone he’s 3 1/2 weights 127. He’s getting neutered next month. We waited to get him fixed. Our vet recommended 3-4 years old because of how fast LGD’s grow. We felt it was in his best interest to to wait but he won’t get the vets work on him. I have to sedate him the night before the morning of plus they sedate him. Last month I gave him 1200mg of trazadone they gave him one shot to sedate him it wasn’t enough they gave him another dose of sedation all just to trim his nails lol it cost a little over $ 200.00. To get him fixed I have to add another med with the trazadone. Hopefully my son & I can get him in the car. Boone-Boone is an inside dog he follows me everywhere. He protects me and the house. His live stock is our cats. He very protective with them & us.
All males cry like babies when they get fixed females are easy peasey😊 no jumping, though, or he'll get a hematoma. My goldendoodle got one, but my male lab was chill no problem

I think most states have low cost spay-neuter clinics. You just need to find the info. It is a blessing for sure.

He's probably like humans after surgery. They get you up moving not long after so you don't stiffen up.

That is how I had my dog neutered also. They also offered to chip them for $10 extra and I had that done

It only reduces the risk of 1 or 2 cancers(depending on the breed) and increases the risk for several much more aggressive cancers.

Wow! I live in Maine and we can't get a certificate for a dog. They're all for cats. My vet wanted $700 to fix my 3 lb dog. God bless y'all.
