It was fun to watch your process of creating the game, Toiu - I love all of the different mechanics that you integrated into it! Thank you so much again for using RPG in a Box for another project! 😄👍
RPG in a BOX is awesome. the developer is pretty active. the first person shooter mode was just made recently and they always have more stuff they are adding to make this easier and more interesting.
I’ve been waiting for this since your community posts! This is even better than I thought! You’re so talented and I can’t wait for whatever you do next :D
I really appreciate you showing us all the steps you went through, all the trial and error, why things turned out the way they did; not only is it entertaining, I feel like a lot of these concepts and thought processes can be applied to other things.
I wondered if someone else figured it out too. I was waiting to see how he would make a roguelike with the type of puzzle game he was making but at the end, I found out it was roguelike. It was still awesome, very fun mechanic.
Honestly the flipping from 2D to 3D, aside conceptually being similar to Super Paper Mario, is a REALLY cool idea. You should try and make an Indie Game out of this in my opinion.
This is so awesome, especially the perspective shift and the idea of "becoming 3d" to progress. Imagine we discovered (definitively) that we're just 3d beings in a 4d universe and that by performing some science we can "become 4d" for a short period and traverse reality in ways we couldn't before. That's this game but shifted back 1 dimension. Absolutely love the concept. Amazing.
Well, the mixing of 2d and 3d perspective and changing camera perspectives to enable/disable a path or hide things isn't actually a new idea/concept (you can see it in games like echochrome, FEZ, Toodee and Topdee and even in some mobile games like hovus. and Monumental Valley), but innovative game design isn't just about creating a entirely new concept out of the box but also reinventing an already established one or just improving upon it because, If you think about it, 90% of games are just based upon another game. Thinking all the way back, Mario paved the way for side-scrolling platformers, while Sonic used the idea and improved upon the concept of time scores, speed and physics, while Genshin Impact is a great modern example of the second case (if you ignore all the cash-grabbing mechanics and "lure-into-addiction" designs): it started out as a BOTW clone with anime girls with another already used concept of elemental reactions (as seen in Magicka and such, but with Genshin's reaction system being 98% damage multipliers), but with time it grew into its own game (and it now has a great swimming mechanic, which can still be improved upon, but still, it's something BOTW didn't have). So, as long as they don't just plainly copy and paste some other game, game designers don't need to reinvent the wheel every time to make a innovative or fun game (heck, I'd love to have a Mega Man X9, no matter how old that series get) With that said, seeing the game as a whole, I'll say great job with the design. The main objective is that your game is entertaining and I guess your friends found it fun, so mission accomplished.
It appears i have forgotten to subscribe last time i saw you made this in 3D so this time i will. I love how dedicated you are to make these rogue like minecraft games. Keep up the amazing work❤
you should add stuff to the 2d side as every puzzle is solved with 3d maybe change it up a little bit by maybe only being able to access areas in 2d or something
@@gianpierolafornara1708 consider the difference in available time and resources for the developers of the “official” games, though. If the playing field was level, this guy would absolutely embarrass Mojang.
Fun little suggestion: add a hardcore mode that makes another dungeon (just a stronghold), and make it so than you need to find secret rooms in the other dungeons, and in the secret rooms you find eyes of ender. Then once you get all eyes you enter the end and fight the dragon, + if you die, everything resets, and add endermen in every dungeon, and make them teleport
WOW! This Minecraft roguelike adaptation is amazing! I'm totally immersed in your creativity and design, can't wait to see your next work! Keep going! 🔥🎉
i feel like this is what was notch envisioned before moving into sandbox game i mean this is what cave game meant to be or Minecraft:the order of the stone also RPG in a BOX uses Godot engine as its base and im currently leaening Godot, and this put me smile ehat i can do with it and take it further
Love the idea behind the game! Could probably use a tutorial of sorts though, maybe a villager gives instructions? The average player wouldn't have the developer behind them telling them how the game works.
this is a really cool, cute game and all... but it meets almost none of the criteria for being a roguelike. roguelikes need to be randomly generated and contain items/powerups for you to lose when you inevitably bite the dust. otherwise, the permadeath aspect of the game is lost.
bruh, you've come so far in game development. I can't believe I finally saw someone having coding frustrations which is a bit sad but also relatable.🔥🔥
Really cool (note I have not played the game) but the end boss I feel like was a little easy looking cuz u can cheese it by standing out side the “redstone” so what I think would be really cool is if you had the boss shoot heads like in Minecraft and you gotta dodge them along with his clone range damage I think would lead to a really epic and hard boss fight and maybe even add a timer before idk he breaks the “Redstone” barrier and starts charging you so it’s still possible to win in this stage but it will be near impossible but not like you’ll see this
Tommy's Image When he says "I'm from Knotignham, son!": **Tough guy** Our Minds: **Robin Hood** = = = = = XD Seriously my image. Also really loved how the game seemed to be determined to make him as angry as possible because of his playstyle being exactly the opposite of what you're supposed to do. Lol Speaking of the game it's a very neat idea! Though I wish you had played with the idea of inverting the puzzles so that some could be solved in 3D but others needed to be 100% 2D. Seems a very find area that hasn't been explored! Not since somebody said the words "musical platformer' have I been more interested in seeing a genre develop from an indie project! Alas I play MTG and just bought BG3 so I cannot fund this. But I would if I could!

this reminds me so much of Fez, the game that looked 2D, but was 3D!

The sequel could have a mineshaft with spiders in it, a jungle temple with traps, and an underwater temple with guardians
I like how at the end, tommy was raging at the villagers when tubbo was like yeah! Let’s go grant!

this is what we wanted minecraft legends to be.
Already better than minecraft legends.
This is what Minecraft Dungeons should have been
So, are more dungeons gonna be added eventually like a sea monument or an ancient city or smth like that?
Should've made the capybara a secret boss that the piglins trapped for a reason the boss fight happens if you free it
This is awesome dude! And you made it in only a week. It's kinda like the indie game "FEZ" which is an amazing game so good job!
The 3d transitions are very reminiscent of Fez and I love that

You better be careful before Mojang sweeps you up as their next game designer for the other projects they’re doing to expand the Minecraft brand
How do you keep finding ideas to make these!? I would’ve gone up after the first one 😅
ooh, this reminds me of the old paper mario games, that's awesome! :D
add side quests and overworld npcs please it would make the world feel more lived in
