The Fujifilm X-T5 is back in my bag. What do you want to know?
A funny story, because I had the same experience... a few years ago I sold all my Fuji equipment except for my x100v and bought a Leica M10. I now also have an SL2s and am totally happy with it. However, a few weeks ago I missed my x-pro so much that I bought a second-hand x-pro3 and a few lenses - I love this camera!
X-Pro is my preferred Fuji camera also ✨ hopefully an X-Pro 4 is in the works with the 40MP stabilized sensor and newer longer life batteries 🙏🏻
@@FredRanger I like the xpros too. Sold my Xpro not long ago and thought about buying it back again but when i saw the prices i said “ Heck no!” Too overpriced in my opinion even used.
@kingelvis4688 yeah… crazy how these prices went up. I guess it’s a combination if supply, demand and « hype »
I put it back into my bag cause my wife told me too...and told me to take back the new camera I bought...I was told to sleep on the couch and do the laundry and dishes for a couple weeks.
Wise choice haha
Man The XT5 just fits me so good. I have taken over 100K photos on mine. It helps me create images I could only dream of 15 years ago. I have a couple of videos up using the XT5 feel free to check out.
Such a great camera. I will watch you videos. Cheers!
I used to work with an XH2s earlier this year. Had it with 5 Fujinon lenses. That set was my work kit. From 10-24 to the 50-140. However I reduced my kit now to an XT5 and 16-55 and 56mm 1.2 WR. I actually find myself being more creative - and maybe because I can move better and force myself to execute visions with only 2 lenses.
I agree, and that’s pretty much all you need!
Mmmmm maybe I might look at this instead of Nikon dslr?
@@peterjohnson1845 I was interested in the Nikon also, but then looked at the full Fuji lens lineup I already have and decided it wasn’t worth the switch. And no one comes close to film sims / recipes available on Fujifilm cameras.
Man I love Fujifilm have a soft spot in my heart for them. Sadly sold all my Fujifilm and just decided to stay w/ in the Leica & Sony system. When I had the X-T5 I love shooting on it. Just felt at the time that I was shooting on to many systems.
I know the feeling ;-)
Hi Fred, I totally agree with you, it's a waste of time discussing about gear in a negative ways. Can I ask you which Is the Lens glue ti your xt5 in this video? Un abbraccio dall'Italia, Rosaria
The 33mm f1.4 (50mm full frame equivalent) most of the time, then the 18mm f1.4 for when I need a wider field of view (27mm full frame equivalent).
Similar journey here. After getting frustrated with the user interface on my Olympus m4/3 camera and having an inheritance, I bought a Leica Q2 and then a M11. Two years later and I’m not getting on with my M11 so I’m selling it and I’ve bought the XT-50 instead. Still getting used to having all those buttons and dials but I’ve turned most of them off!
Something about that sensor and the ability to do film sims, right? Did you keep the Q2 though?
@@FredRanger Definitely. The Q2 is still my main camera. It’s amazing!
Same here :)
I left fuji 3 years ago. Will never go back. Dont miss it.
It’s the beauty of cameras. You get to choose what you want to shoot with. And be happy with it.
Do you still have XH1 in your collection? You bought, then sold, then bought again! I still have mine, now 6 years old and will not let go!
I don’t. Although I really enjoy the ergonomics, I tried to make the X-H line work for me as a video camera. I ended up using another system for video. X-Pro and X-T are perfect for my photography. Happy to hear you still enjoy yours! Cheers!
Hello Sir …. Sir would you recommend XT4 with 16-80mm f4 R OIS WR kit lens for Streetphotography and for daily use ???
Sir I’m from India 🇮🇳 which is very hot and humid and sometimes dusty almost all through the year. And both XT4 and the kit lens both are Weather Resistant and in love with Fujifilm’s Film Simulation/ Recipes. It could be my first camera. I’m a Columnist by profession.
So Sir I’m in need of your advice and guidance 🙏
Thanks for your question. The 16-80mm f4 is a good option if you don’t expect to shoot in low light situations and it will cover most of your needs. I would recommend to pair it with a fast prime lens like the 35mm f1.4 or the 18mm f2 to get a low light shallow depth of field option in your bag. I would also recommend looking at the 16-40 f2.8 to f4.5 as another option for a zoom from Fuji. Happy shooting!
Thanks for sharing, its great to hear your thoughts, i currently own the XT4 and XH2s and fairly satisfied with the performance even though most of my event photography is low light, I normally live around the 1600-4000 iso range, with Capture One i find the noise more than acceptable and easy to dial away with the software. I am looking at getting a third body and just wanting to know with the XT5 40mpx sensor, will I notice a huge increase in noise especially low light? My other option was to gi with poly camera setup and and get the Sony A74 with the 24-50 f2.8 as the low light beast? But the Sony option will obviously cost a lot more.
I just shot a concert with the T5 and the 16-55 f2.8 in very low light and I was surprised with the result. I mainly lived at ISO 6400 and the files are not more noisy than with my previous X-T4 or X-T3 even with that new 40MP sensor. The way they were able to control the noise coupled with an efficient IBIS system makes it viable for those scenarios. Of course the FF Sony A74 will perform better in very low light, but I prefer the shooting experience, colours and overall product design philosophy of Fujifilm. It is really a personal choice in the end. Happy shooting!
I made a mistake and sold all my fujifilm gear and got the nikon zf. I now have the nikon zf and sony a7cii and are looking at selling one of them to go back, now i just dont know which to sell.
never really loved the Sony ecosystem for photography. It's my go-to for for video, but 0 inspiration to shoot stills on them. I can live with Nikon for photo :- )
@FredRanger 100% agreed... it's just the size of the sony that's appealing. However, the Fuji is not that bigger...
The thing that drove me over the line to make this decision to move back was going through old photos and seeing the colour.
The funny thing is looking at some of my photos I remember I increased the grain on some recipes which I still like looking at. You are 100% correct on the Fujifilm grain, there is something about it.
@@halgrynshaun I feel the same. Sold Fuji to get Canon R8 which is fantastic and has great color but images just didn't spoke to me and it was still little too big. Tried A7C II and I hated it, tried Zf didn't like the output. Now I am on Panasonic S9 and I love this thing. After adapting LUTs which took me couple of weeks I got looks that are really satisfying and for video this thing is a beast not to mention AF which is miles ahead of Fuji. In the end I miss X-E4 + 27 f2.8 as nothing in full frame world is as small as this setup and I miss Classic Cuban Neg and Pacific Blues film recipes but I am not sure if I should add Fuji back just for those things. I won't sell Panasonic S9 for sure due to video abilities but let's see. If money will be there I might buy Fuji X-M5 or X-E5. XF 27mm f2.8 WR is waiting in a drawer (didn't sell it as I know it's hard to get). Also I miss XF 35 f1.4 - special lens and look that I can't get with modern glass even in post process.
@MrRafalEn I thought about the s9, but the lack of viewfinder may drive me nuts. I love everything else about the camera. The lut options are game-changing. Hopefully, more manufacturers will start doing the same. It's good to get in early...
Perhaps I'll keep my nikon and trade in the sony... thanks, you're not helping. Now, the rest of my time will be spent looking into this as a potential option.
Similar experience with Zf expect I didn't sell xt5 😀 and thankfully so. I learned i prefer fuji and take more photos with it.
Is that a Vario strap on your watch?

@@FredRanger Thanks
I'm loving my X-T5. Super great experience. I keep my XF 35mm f1.4 on about 85% of the time and loving it to death. Exciting to hear your perspective.
Question: You said ZV-E1 (presuming you meant E10) - is it the first gen one? I was thinking about getting that for my desktop studio.
The 35mm 1.4 is a classic and goes along well with the X-T5 even if it isn't "optimized" for the new 40MP sensor. As for the Sony camera I use for video, it is the ZV-E1 paired with the 20mm f /.8 G lens. Same sensor as in the FX-3/A7s3
@@FredRanger - oh E1. I guess I didn't know about that. But now I'm looking into it. Thanks, Fred. And yeah, I know the lens isn't optimized as such. But I'm too dumb to know the difference.
I hope you like the downgrade in auto focus! 🥴
Well, from my Leica manual glass to Fujinon AF lenses, not sure if we can call that an “downgrade” ;-)
Bought the exact same camera in silver approximately one week ago to replace X-T2. These camera's are such joy to use. Rdgs @knederskovpetersen 📍🇩🇰
