You mean like approximately $1900 for the cost of parts for the interior. what is the point in not be accurate or are you using prices you get from sponsorship or something that you know no one else will get those prices. Post the invoice with actual part numbers and prices. hopefully this won't get deleted again.

I had an 88 IROC back in the day that was Pro Tour before that existed. I made it a Vortech SC 383 with T-56 6-SPEED transplanted in place of the 700R4.
Pro Chassis 6-point cage with sub-frame connectors all welded in (Chrome Molly) Custom made Boyd's with 315s rear , IN THE FENDERS , 295s up front.
Suspension Techniques kit for everything from sway bars to springs , shocks. Schroth harness for driver. The DFI ECU that replaced the factory ECU was programmed by me. I converted it from mass-flow to speed density. This was all done in 1993 !. The engine had vette ported aluminum heads and a Lingenfelter Box-Ram intake. Battery relocated to right rear.
It had 3.23s and was not set up to drag but still ran low 11s and I could smoke the tires at 60 MPH. It handled like it was on rails and beat Vipers of the day. It sounded like a dragon coming down road with Banks exhaust , gutted cat , headers.

My English teacher was a middle aged overweight hag with a cocaine problem name Ms Hayt and she lived up to her name. She had a 60% failure rate in her class. I knew of straight A students that barely passed her class.

When you remove carpet, always treat the rust in the floorboards--even naval jelly or bedliner in a can. Test all wires for any short issues, tape 'em in place, then lay down some HVAC sound deadener from Home Despot--cheaper'n dynomat. Pre fit carpet is great, and shag from the local fabric store can be groovy-cheap, too.

Carpet $380/ dash pad $688/ Headliner $250/ Sun-visors, $170/ speaker panels $40/ seats $320/ mounting brackets-$30= $1900 ( assuming they did not actually buy new panels but not mention it). I will also say it again. NO ONE is putting a used block with $3000 in upgrades without a rebuild. NO ONE. So that should be included in the price to build this car. At that point a 325 hp crate motor would be cheaper.

One thing that y'all didn't take into account with the V6 is that the 3.6 can easily be transformed into a beast of a V6 and is plenty capable of running down a factory SS with only bolt on mods. (Well, maybe not running it down, but running with it) I have always been a big fan of making the underdog run with the big boys.

    • @houseofno
      @houseofno 5 років тому

By the time you're done "hopping up" ($$) that 335 hp V6 to 455 hp, why not just put a V8 in it in the first place? LS engines are literally all over the place, but you want to dump money into a 3.6L V6?

  • @houseofno

You people couldn't fix all the rust on that floor pan before just laying that nice new carpet on that grimy rusty floorpan?
Also, before you wave that "buy American" flag too hard, regarding the Norwood plant closing, let's not forget all those American jobs GM shipped off to Canada in 1993 for nine years of production, before unceremoniously pulling the plug on the F-body cars for eight years before bringing back the Camaro.
GM is also a company that's significantly invested in shipping off manufacturing jobs to such lovely non-American locales as Mexico and China.
Don't forget about GM's recent closure of that AMERICAN manufacturing plant in Ohio - not to mention all those American jobs that got the boot.

Well considering what car it is and how old it is, I don't think it matters much. Didn't seem to be more than surface rust anyway. These guys wouldn't be able to do a complete full restore on it either way as their skills seem lacking in many areas.

Hey guys can u tell me what the wires r behind the back seats? They are in the center and I think the fuel tank is right behind it. I do not have fuel injection so it us not for a fuel pump. Are thise wires for the fuel sending unit fir the gas guage in my 85 camaro sport? I have a 305 motor too. Love my car. Have driven it for over 20. 2nd female owner too.:) I am restoring the carpets too so this us s helpful video. Would u know where I might find the small bolts that hold the interior light in place? And also a couple of clips that hold the t top replacement cover does not come with holder brackets for the front to hold that in place. I guess you just forget those?? Thank you very much. Only video I found that shows proper instalation of that ttop cover!! Yeah!

Those plasic seat belt housings always crack and then end up looking like crap, I found out recently they're finally being reproduced. I replaced mine 3 times with used ones that somehow weren't damaged, I used the seat belt once and they started to crack. I eventually used forth gen ones, they seem to work.

'82 to '92 Camaro are more modern looking and beautiful than the 5th and 6th generation that just looks like a bunker with slit windows . 3rd gen is the most aerodynamic F-body ever made. Some '82 Firebird models had drag coefficients as low as .29 . Just try to find out what cd the 6th gen is and the only thing we’re talking about is down force , facelifted model’s aerodynamic properties , Aero-enhancing air curtains , no real number of drag coefficent . Nice work guys but I would have just chosen a model without T-top .

You mean like approximately $1900 for the cost of parts for the interior. what is the point in not be accurate or are you using prices you get from sponsorship or something that you know no one else will get those prices. Post the invoice with actual part numbers and prices. hopefully this won't get deleted again.
