#LS7 #Camaro
I grew a mullet watching this.
Get some new jokes dude
Lol.
Your wrong if you didn't already have one.
@Rick Storm Lost it? Shyt...I never cut mine. It’s a requirement for Camaro club membership....
🤣
This car is the boss! The fiberglass nose is crazy, too. That sound takes the cake, though.
That little sprint car was hauling.
he was not gonna catch it... it was gone...
Power to weight
Hell yeah it was, wow
Man I to go for an on board in that little beast
@@rtkl13 A friend's 19 year old daughter drove the sprint cars on dirt in competition in Northern California a few years ago. She was 19 years old, about 110 lbs, and 5'6". It wasn't bad enough that she was the cutest little blond in the pits, but she weighed 30-75 lbs less than any other driver and was very aggressive when she put that helmut on. The guys thought she had an unfair advantage. That power to weight ratio made itself known every night.
At about 1700 lbs and 900 hp, that's impressive to watch... let alone drive!!
Well, the price of third gen IROC's just went up.
Exactly what I was just thinking...
They Were So Far In The Toilet They're Still Gonna Be Affordable Lol
Could you just send your 3rd gen to Detroit Speed and have them build you something like that? Asking for a friend
no not at all
maybe if it starred in a movie yea.
@Iroc87 sounds about worth it 😏
The long hairs on my neck are tingling! 8500rpm baby! Merica Whoever said all electric in 2035 needs to listen to this thing.
That would be the Democrats green deal.
If you want to not see cars like this on the roads or tracks then vote Biden.
I’m gunna be so mad at the all electric car thing
@@EditsByKill no way it will happen if people just give the finger and drive what they want anyway. Problem is people forgot the government works for them. I think used car prices and classic muscle will continue to skyrocket in price over buying new electric cars too
There’s no way they can just automatically get rid of gas cars? Where do they plan on putting billions of these gas cars? There’s no junkyard big enough! FUCK ELECTRIC CARS! And FUCK ELON MUSK TOO!!!
@@EditsByKill I live about a mile from the Tesla plant being built in Austin,Tx. I love going by there in my C6 ZO6 throwing big downshifts while all the Tesla geeks are out there snapping pics of their cars with the plant in the background.
Finally, an IROC worthy of the name! This things is a complete monster! The savagery!
Hey, when you have six figures to throw at a car you can make it as Badass as you want!! I guarantee you they have at least that much invested in this car! Would love to do up my 87 GTA like this!!
As a third gen owner I can only dream to have mine 1/10th of this thing someday 😂 possibly the meanest cleanest build of a third gen ever! I’m really happy you shared this one Shawn!
This is the ideal 3rd gen imo. Looks, sounds and performance. Simply an incredible build
@@AutotopiaLA ........and normally aspirated too!!! Never thought it was possible to get 720 hp normally aspirated that actually "behaves" like this one, wow.......
@@howabouthetruth2157 You mean Naturally???
Honestly as a 3rd gen own as well I want to do some controversial stuff to mine I hope mine is as good as this but I also want to wide body a tube chassis 3rd gen because I've never seen anything like that done to this gen of camaro. I want to keep the one I got like it is with a bigger motor (I have the 2.8L) and better suspension. But the next one I own will have a tube chassis
@@AutotopiaLA I'm sure it is an incredible build, wish I had six figures to throw at my 87 GTA to make it like this Camaro!
I love watching Shawn's eyes during the rides. You can tell he's got a huge grin, and he gets a little bug-eyed in the intense sections. LOL.
I love the idea of the destroked 7.0L. Some people probably shook their heads at the idea of losing displacement from that monster, but the ability to rev like that is incredible. It really brings together the best of both worlds.
This generation Camaro a good candidate for upgrading as they're not a gazillion dollar donor car. I think they look cool also. Nice job. Thanks guys.
Love them myself, if I had anything to dislike. It would be the dashboard, but that is minor.
💪CheVy
@@chrishollar6080 I hear you. Remember the dash in the Fiero? Yikes.
3rd and 4th Gen.
They are getting more expensive...kicking myself for selling the 2 mint non t top cars I had in 2012....A 1992 Z28 Heritage Edition 5.7 white with red stripes and red interior and a 1991 RS L03, white with dark charcoal interior. Major REGRET! I will be getting another, just waiting for the right one.
That man knows how to drive, yes indeed... I would love that experience once in my lifetime..
I don't care how much of an aged rattle can it is, what generation it's from, or what people say about it. These things are just plain sexy. And I'm a mustang guy.
I'm a mustang and F body guy. Gotta respect that rivalry, they bring out the best in each other for sure!
@@motherlovinsnuffstarWell said Guys.
Kyle Tucker is such a cool dude. Who builds a bad ass car. 100% jacked up. It wasn't stolen either
3 THINGS: First off........HOLY SH*T!!! What a beast of a car!!! Secondly.......That man can flat out drive!!! ........and third......I don't know whether to be disgusted, or find it hilarious, the way some of these arm chair "racing experts" are criticizing this man's insane driving/racing skills. OK, let's go for #4 and 5: I would bet the farm every last one of the clueless critics of this man's racing skills would be pissing their pants & praying for the car to come to a stop if they had a ride along in this car, on this track, with this master behind the wheel............this car, footage, and driving impressed me SO much, I bookmarked the video & smashed the subscription button.
This is exactly why third gen prices are going through the roof.. I bought my 86 Iroc-Z in 2013 for $1500 with 92k on the clock, nowadays even a shitty high mileage rusted through one sells for 10 grand atleast
Awesome Video very inclusive. A tach and speedo view would've been cool on the track segment great driving woop woop!
My only criticisms would be more stripping unnecessary interior bits, more carbon, and maybe forced induction. Can't fault the guy's driving or sense of style, though, and what people are critiquing as far as driving is probably more because he's racing as a car exhibition, not razors edge driving for optimal lap times, but haters are usually idiots, don't concern yourself with their bs.
Yes, I have my critiques, but incredible car/setup/driving.
@@AndrewB383 You can throw a blower or turbo on anything to make it go faster. But it takes far more talent to get high horsepower out of a normally aspirated engine.......besides, that's why there are different classes in racing. And do you honestly believe that in "real racing" the drivers are striving for "the quickest lap times" for every lap? Because that's not true. There's lots of strategy that also involves pit stop times. If you & your crew chief know through practice & testing that you & your car are capable of lap times fast enough to be right there at the end, the trick is to save your car by running lap times that are just good enough to keep you in a good position ( with pit stop strategy implemented as well ) for the end of the race. You save your car........ya don't use up your brakes, tires, and other equipment early on. Lastly, I don't give a a shit about these jack ass critics of this man's driving skills. I simply wanted to label them for what they truly are.
@@howabouthetruth2157 I'm not sure how you read my comment, but, I agree, it's clearly exhibition and track day kinda racing, which explains all the "mistakes", and, forced induction requires skill and tuning, as does naturally aspirated power. Might say it's a little harder n/a with an ohv engine, making something simultaneously streetable and high performance without vvt/ohc's is a challenge but cam grinds in LS motors are a very precise/known quantity by this point.
what a wonderful machine. Very clean and classic look.
Getting Loose at @12:15 made him pucker a little bit. Looks like so much fun. I always wanted an IROC as a kid. I've owned a 4th and 5th gen, but haven't got my hands on a 3rd gen.
He had me on edge a few times. What a car and what a driver!
_Mullet Militia Car._ 😷👍🏻 Kyle's got a good sense of humor and that's no Trailer Park Boys IROC. 😆 This car's versatility is impressive!
That was a great run. I hope GM brings that body style back. I have always loved that IROC look. I was born in the 70’s and when that IROC first came out in the 80’s, I was hooked on cars. That car made me instantly love fast cars.
Love all the representation from across the globe how American muscle flexes and speaks a language we all understand no matter the land. From that killer Challenger in Amsterdam to my personal and dear to my heart 87 IROC here. Had one of these in high school and felt like king of the block. Kept little red till I left for the service. This just motivates me to find her again. No mullet required.
That's one of the best ride along videos I've seen, it had my heart pumping as I was in the car with you. Keep up the great work guys!
Sounds so perfect just a straight beast
Thank you. I've been waiting for this episode. Makes me miss my 92 RS. Now that I know Detroit Speed has parts to Pro-mod it I want another one.
I had an 85 IrocZ in blue back in 89 the best color for an IrocZ this car is dream car awesome build 👍👍👍
Strong pucker factor. Glutes probably sore. Car sounds so raw.
God i miss my 92 iroc...... 😥😥 i had 400 sbc 750cfm 700r4 with shift kit and LSD..
Was some of the best times in my life driving !
I miss my 87 IROC-Z hard top… Mine was the red with gold wheels and the black and gold double pin stripe around the bottom… swapped 350 turbo w/t shift kit and 373 rear gear.. A pillars were tearing at the roof line with a carbed 305 with light mods. Front left wheel would almost lift if it got good traction… worked my arse off for it..
One of best sounding ls engines I ever heard well done to the owner on a great track build
Best highlight of this car I've seen on any channel. Thanks!
I could smell Marlboro Reds and hear 80's music with every lap ,, wife beater tank top , mullet, and acid washed jeans .. soooo 80's !!! Beautiful car
😂😂 and it was awesome!!
Holy hell what a drive along, both Kyle and his ride are badass!!🏁🏁🏁
Owner is missing the "Calvin" pissing on a Ford emblem in his rear window. Makes me wanna get a cooler full of Michelob, grab the cutoff shorts, head to the lake and play Dokken at high volume.
Dokken! Hell yes 🤘
Michelob?.... you mean keystone bro.
@@AutotopiaLA cool ride and great content as always.
@@taylor5542 You're probably right. Trans Am drivers drink Michelob.
I used to see those stickers, and would reach behind the seat and crank the nitrous open on my Mustang when I saw those lol...good times back in the day.
I love your videos. This one is now my second favorite video. Dont stop showing us some badass cars.
I remember watching IROC races on tv when I was a kid and this car sounds just like they did. Love this, amazing sounds! 👍🤟
Sounds exactly like those
Such an underrated car!
That thing has the looks, the performance and the sound! Perfect muscle car! Doesnt get much better than that imo
Damn Shawn, what a totally amazing experience. Kyle is such a cool dude for taking you out and ripping it.
I really Love This Car, I love The NascarStyle he have and the Motor is A Charry On the Cake. One Day i Buy a 3 gen Camaro
This model THE CHEVY IROCK Z has always been one of my favorite body styles, besides the 67,68 69
I bought a one-owner 1985 Iroc in 1998 it was the same color and interior was the same as the one in video. it had 50,000 miles on .had it for ten years and sold it and I slap my self Everytime I see a car like it...
I love what they did to this one! Sounds like you had a really clean one there
charlotte motor speedway is a sick track. the car is even better but the way the driver oversteered it next to the walls is the best part. what a blast
Shawn awesome job of showing us a car going full throttle on a track instead of the city streets for a change.
Keep up the great work !!!
Man, I love this car!!! My 5th time to watch it on the track. Buddy had an ‘89 RS, in high school and same look of wheels and just takes me back to good times. 💙💙💪🏼
I love that this started as a V6 couple. That's the way to go if you are building one up imho
AutotopiaLA the best car videos on youtube ....thanks bro
He said they smoked the rear taillight lens.
I bet they were hard to light. 🤣
Never been a fan of the IROC Camaros, but holly hell this one is BADASS!!!!!!!
You sir just became my template for my third gen build, also I live right next to that track small world
My uncle had this car and I always thought that it was the slickest looking thing on 4 wheels. Was kind of disappointed when I found it that it was underpegged and its engine stock form was anemic. This is the level of HP and engineering that I always thought this era camaro deserved!
@12:12 pucker up lol! Nice! Looks like you had fun over here on the East Coast!
I live about 30 minutes down the highway.
Sweet 3rd gen. One of the best I've seen. I'm a huge 3rd gen fan. Owned 3 of them so far.
That thing makes a heavenly music at high rpm and on the shift omg! I need a high revving ls in my life
I graduated HS in 1988 and the IROC-Z was the car to have! Would love to get a nice one
I graduated ‘83 and remember it well. This one though...wow!
Awesome! I was looking for a video of this car made by someone who's actually into cars.
3rd gen rules! Owned a black one myself. Lingenfelter bits on that car.
This is such a sick 3rd gen
Now THIS is the car that should be in "Sorted". This is the car that should win the "Sorted" competition show.
Seen one of your Vids before but just found yer site....great videos. Keep 'em coming....👍👍👍
I've seen Big aftermarket identical "Look-Alikes" of the Factory Wheels in different sizes. The ONLY thing that this Car needs to be correct...
Ahh, nostalgia alive and well...thanks!
Thank you for doing it CORRECTLY! One of my top 3-DreamCars.
They really nailed it on this build! What an awesome ride
Anybody else dying to see Randy Pobst drive this car like he stole it? So much love for this car. Thank you for building this car! It’s really a pleasure to watch.
That looked so damn fun! I would love to go for a ride on a track in that car..but a 4k ride along with you was pretty damn cool too! Great vid guys!
Wow, the third-generation Camaro still looks modern. What a classic design.
I have an LS7 in my '65 Chevy II. With just a cam and head swap, it made 650/640 (HP/TQ) on the engine dyno. It's an amazing engine.
12:18 Awesome save, Kyle!
@Bradley S., he controls the chaos quickly. :-)
That's honestly the nicest and coolest 3rd gen i've ever seen. Well done sir!
I got a cramp in my calf from pressing the invisible throttle while watching the race!! So damn good!!!
Man over the last week this car has exploded in popularity this is the 3rd video I have seen of it.
I had an 88 V6 camaro in HS, almost the same color even. Man would it be awesome to have it now and built like this for COTA!!!
That boy isn’t afraid to push the limits of the car in the corners!
One of the best videos yet!!!!
I can feel the adrenaline through this video
Wow! Screaming manalishi.... Amazing to hear 8,5 k, just like that... What a ride, just RAW man! 👍🏻
Pure drivers car. Sounds like a nascar to me
Awesome, a couple times it got a bit loose out of the corners, not your typical IROC Z, GOOD SHIT!
OMG! What a car! It screams so pretty awesome! Nice LS7 destroked for 338
Couldn't quite keep up with that 500 hp Porsche with that Mast power
This thing is a beast one of the best 3rd gens I’ve seen
I’m a Ford Guy all the way, but I’d take that Camaro in a Heart Best.
I love this car. Probably my favourite Camaro build, ever.
It really is a spectacular build
Shawn, thanks for posting all of these great car movies!
You’re welcome and thanks for being here with us. I see you commenting regularly and I really appreciate the support!
Track day builds are just awesome
Shawn - did Kyle get that thing a little sideways on that turn coming over the bridge?? I felt like I was riding along with you guys. That was awesome!!!! Kyle makes some great Camaro’s!!
I could listen to this car all day
Who didnt want an iroqz back in the day? But with an ls7 720hp with a trimec. Dam. Still a great look and sounds ferocious.
I can’t get enough of this car 😬
Kyle and Stacy Tucker are salt of the earth type folks. Their products are amazing too!!
Awesome video!!!
Dude almost lost it at minute 12:19!!! Sure would have been a sham to wad that beauty up.
He was pretty much keeping up with that dirt track car.... almost.
Sweet driving Ricky Bobby. If your not first your last!!! 😂😀
Too bad that car was slowing him down, really wanted to see it go more
Edit- oops didn't get that far into the video, only saw a little snippet of it looking like it was slowing the camaro down, now I saw it really in action. That little thing rips!
I love the lack of narration during the laps. Great video!
Holy Mullet mobile! Awesome!
The sound of this would never get old!!!
That is an awesome Camaro! I've always loved that body style but they didn't have much grunt from the factory so that is a massive upgrade.
So weird. I've seen this car before and I've been thinking about it the last couple days. Been day dreaming about the motor. Sounds so nice
Great video, this thing just screams love it, a hard call between this and the C3 Vette for me, love them both🤔👌
He was definitely driving it like he stole it.👍😎
That’s for sure!
Jesus Christ... the sound this thing makes in the high RPM range is absofreakinlutely INSANE!!! Now I'm on the fence about what I want to do with my 1991 GTA. I want... no, I NEED my GTA to scream like that, even though I'm not tracking it.
This is such a proper build! That sound, the handling and looks are on point
I've followed this car from the beginning, my favorite third gen by far
12:17 all under control. Very good.
Pretty big pucker factor there at 12:20. Love the car!
I was not feeling that card first, damn it started impress me!
This is the best video on this car so far. Great job and holy shit I wanna build one
Great episode Shawn! I’m enjoying what you’re doing with the Channel! Keep up the good content and I’ll keep on clicking!
Dammmmmmm the roc making some noise love those cars haven't heard to much about them. They are not forgotten. What a car!💯💪🤘👍
