Transformers: Dark Of The Moon Movie Description:
Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf) and his new girlfriend, Carly (Rosie Huntington-Whiteley), join the fray when the evil Decepticons renew their longstanding war against the Autobots. Optimus Prime (Peter Cullen) believes that resurrecting ancient Transformer Sentinel Prime (Leonard Nimoy), once the leader of the Autobots, may lead to victory. That decision, however, has devastating consequences; the war appears to tip in favor of the Decepticons, leading to a climactic battle in Chicago.
Transformers: Dark of the Moon is a 2011 American science fiction action film based on Hasbro's Transformers toy line. The film is the third installment in the Transformers film series and the sequel to Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009). The film is directed by Michael Bay and written by Ehren Kruger. It stars Shia LaBeouf, Josh Duhamel, John Turturro, Tyrese Gibson, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Patrick Dempsey, Kevin Dunn, Julie White, John Malkovich, and Frances McDormand. Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, and Sam Witwicky must lead the Autobots against Megatron and the Decepticons as they battle to possess powerful technology abandoned on the Moon, in order to restore Cybertron.
The film employed both regular 35 mm film cameras and specially-developed 3D cameras, with filming locations in Chicago, Florida, Indiana, Milwaukee, Moscow, and Washington, D.C. The film was 3D rendered specifically for 3-D, and the visual effects involved more complex robots which took longer to render. Dark of the Moon's release date was moved from July 1 to June 29, in order to monitor an early response to footage.
Exclusive early premieres took place on June 28, 2011, one night before worldwide release. The film received mixed reviews from critics and was praised for the score, visual effects, cast and voice performances, and use of 3D, however it was criticized for its screenplay, tonal shifts, and runtime. Dark of the Moon grossed $1.124 billion worldwide, becoming the fifth highest-grossing film in history at the time, the second highest-grossing film of 2011, and the highest-grossing film in the franchise to date. Like the first film, it was nominated for Best Sound Editing, Best Sound Mixing, and Best Visual Effects at the 84th Academy Awards. It was followed by Transformers: Age of Extinction in 2014.

Imagine your childhood hero, teacher, and favorite person, all rolled into one, the person who taught you what morals are, taught you what's right and what's wrong, and then he reappears years later and betrayed everything he taught you. Optimus was torn apart and begging Sentinel to be the person Optimus always thought he was

I was absolutely saddened and terrified that Sentinel Prime had betrayed the Autobots. You can feel how mad this made Optimus during the final battle.

That’s gotta be the most savage line Optimus has ever said, and Cullen’s delivery was stone cold.
I always loved that final fight between Megatron and Optimus. His line was so cold.

Sam Witwicky is the best human protagonist in transformers . He killed Megatron, revived Optimus prime, killed Star Screen and helped stop Sentinels plan. He saved the world 3 times while Rizzing up the baddest girl's .

@@m.j.m.psquad to be fair he has more kills than sam, although it's mostly just decepticon canon fodder, when compared to the fact he killed both MEGATRON AND STARSCREAM. But cade was really dishing out that smoke with the autobots in AOE.
I saw this opening week with my mom, my brother and my sister after years of watching the movies on bootlegged discs. I didn't know it would be the last time we'd see Sam and I got so upset that Ironhide got hoe'd by Sentinel.
Watched this in 3D when it came out. When Wang wields his two pistols right into the camera it's the most impressive pop out effect I've ever seen. The guns reached through the whole theater. TF3 was really one of the best 3D cinema experiences.

To answer your question about the other autobots that didn't show up from the second movie they're killed off, jolt the one who helped optimus combined with Jetfire was killed by shockwave and he also killed elita one the purple motorcycle optimus gf/wife that explains why optimus killed shockwave so brutal and 10 more autobots were killed by shockwave on earth. The twins were originally going to have an on screen death and they to die by protecting the autobots after ironhide was killed.

This one has the best final battle, the shootout scenes in Chiraq and the invasion are the best parts of the whole series second to the Egypt battle
Alongside Hans Zimmer, Steve Jablonsky is one of my FAVORITE composers. His work on the Transformers films played a significant role in my love for the films. I own every single one of them. I remember severely, SEVERELY missing him when Bumblebee came out. Thank goodness they collaborated with him again for Rise of the Beasts. It truly doesn't feel like a Transformers movies without his amazing scores.
I heard somewhere that 'Transformers: Dark of the Moon' sky beam is what influenced the Avengers (2012) movie’s sky beam.

Yes, they did do the massive city battle with the sky beam. Iron Man (2008) though, did feature the sky beam, the earliest I can remember movies using that trope.
The big floating alien whale things in Avengers also look aesthetically similar to the transport ships here in DotM

When you asked about Sentinel betraying the autobots, I didn't see it coming when I first watched it but there was foreshadowing. Leonard Nimoy was the voice of Sentinel and in the original 80s cartoon movie, he was the voice of Megatron when he received a new body from Unicron and his name was changed to Galvatron. Also, Wheelie was watching Star Trek and Nimoy was fighting his friends and Wheelie says "I've seen this, this is the one were Spock goes nuts."
The bar fight scene is my favoroute where Dutch goes to his former self and then says "Sorry, that is my old self".

3rd is my favorite of the trilogy. But the 4th one thats my favorite I was 8 years old going to the theater to see that one and the villain was a fantastic entry to the franchise. I always never understand the hate for the 4th one except that Romeo and Juliet scene in the movie. But I'm just happy that people are giving the 4th one it's flowers now especially since it's a decade old now. Forever my childhood. Transformers 4LIFE ❤❤
@@Alteringcollectibles I Just Loved Optimus Prime Story Ark it was just Phenomenal in AOE. And rise of the beast stole Pieces of that and put it in they're movie and people love that one. And I hate It. But yeah I completely understand where your coming from. I like how Michael Bay did it because in the movie it was told very well and you understood both sides of the story for both sides. Especially with Optimus Prime. They couldn've explain Sam and bee ending better though after DOTM

Also, Starscream doesn’t want to help Megatron, he was gloating that Megs was weakened and he could overthrow him. In the franchise you could basically replace every instance of “traitor” in Webster’s Cybertronian Dictionary with “Starscream” because he’s almost always trying to get him and take over.
Iron Hide is my fave autobot for sure. RIP
2 facts that I weirdly know from this movie:
- The Ferrari Autobot, Dino, has another name Mirage who shows up in the latest Transofrmers movie. The reason this guy never came back for the sequels is because it was a one movie deal with the people who own Ferrari to showcase one of their cars in a Transformers movie.
- The novelization of this film had the twins from the 2nd film involved, only to be killed off alongside Ironhide during Sentinel's betrayal
That's a shame, I loved Dino, he was so badass. Francesco Quinn killed it as Dino even though he only had 3 lines. He deserved more screen time and Dialogue. For a long time, this was the Mirage I grew up knowing.

32:14 Peter Cullen, Optimus’s actor, actually really hated this line “we will kill them all”. He was taught by his older brother, Larry, a Marine, to be “strong enough to be gentle” and to not have Optimus as a stereotypical action hero. “We will kill them all” to him felt out of character, and he generally didn’t enjoy times when Optimus was like that in the Bay directed movies.

Peter Cullen, Was a voice actor for Optimus since the 1980s.
And he said that he didn't really like voicing Optimus in the second and third movie because of how optimists tells people to die and screw off essentially, He said that this wasn't Optimus.
42:06 fun fact, in most iterations, Megatron is low/high key scared of Shockwave because he’s the only one that can put the beats on him 1v1 other than Optimus.
Age of extinction imo gets way to much hate, yeah it’s by all means no where near the same level as its predecessors but it was a fun watch imho. The Last Knight however…

You should totally check out Transformers Prime. It's like the animated love child of the live action movies, and is oddly dark for a kids show
So many dark moments with no awkward or bad comedy moments. You can actually feel the gravity of those moments.

Blew my 14 year old mind when I first saw it and 13 years later blows my 27 year old mind.
DOTM is still the best one. This is when Bay retired most of his juvenile sense of humor, got rid of a bunch of his dumb stuff, and sat down and made a more serious if still authentically Michael Bay story. The Transformers actually start feeling more like characters in their own movie instead of just special effects. The action is really cool. I love that Bay raised the stakes by having a small team of humans and Autobots with limited reinforcements able to come help against a massive army of Decepticons.
Sentinel is the best villain of the live action Bay films. Leonard Nimoy voiced him to perfection and it was a great choice to have this character as the big bad especially if you were familiar with him from the larger franchise. He was a menacing, and understandable threat. Killing Ironhide of all characters was a gut punch, and it’s a big flaw of the movie that nobody even mentions Ironhide after he dies.
This was supposed to be the series finale of the films as Bay wanted to walk away after this one, but Paramount lured him back with a big paycheck and promise to fund a smaller personal project if he came back. It would’ve been nice to have a slightly longer ending to send off the series, because the movie ends two minutes after Sentinel and Megatron die, whereas 2007 at least had some exposition on what was going to happen now that the day was saved.
But it’s still my favorite. Also, the 3D was better than Avatar, no lie.
That’s overreaching considering Bay still had juvenile humor in this one, but it’s a good time. Better movie than Avatars.

Dark of the moon is one of the best action movies of the century, no 🧢! The story, writing and comedy is much improved from Revenge of the fallen. And the action, cinematography, CGI, sound design and music is just 10/10! And dude, don’t think about the ppl that complains about you shedding a few tears here and there during the reaction. REAL men cry during emotional stuff, no need to be embarassed. Just shows how invested you are in the movie 💪
