- Welcome to 1Kaizo! This is a challenge of my own design where I need to beat 1,000 Kaizo levels in just 100 hours. I don't know if it's possible yet. This video contains segment 23 of the challenge.

Babe wake up poo is playing another best romhack of all time
I think, because of this challenge, I'm getting to see a lot of the all-time greats back to back. I had sort of been of the opinion that the best all-time hack tended to be whichever major one came out this year- but watching this again, I think I've changed my mind. Luminescent is REALLY good. It's a combination of aesthetic detail, especially the filter (palette swaps??) used to create faux mood lighting effects in each level, and the way the tricks flow. There's always JUST enough time to read the trick, JUST enough education to introduce the mechanics. At least as a spectator, I think this is my standing favorite, just barely edging out Sonic Saves the World.
Honestly felt the same, there are just a few that stand out so hard
Luminescent also has the benefit of being on the challenging side of Intermediate (I think), which means a lot more casual kaizo players get to fully experience it firsthand as compared to your GPW's and such.
Watched this live, and definitely watching this, in full, again. This hack rocked hard.
I love the DKC soundtracks
Always a joy to see you play my hack, and glad to see you somewhat kept your pace playing through it. :P
After you beat this challenge, I'd like to see you complete this hack again while getting all the controllers.
My skill is lacking, but you inspired me to do my own challenge: 1,000 deaths in 100 hours. I'm absolutely CRUSHING it.
I suspect he probably beat this challenge but it's still tense seeing back to back 10 minute reds at times when he's only an hour ahead and has been saying he needs a few hours free at the end for his last level. I imagine some easier hacks have to be coming soon in order to create some time.
Segment 23, and I just got the "1K(aizo)" name…
not even close to GPW3. WAY TOO MUCH CHOCOLATE!
We have seen some great hacks in this challenge so far, but Luminescent is still as amazing as the first time I saw it
It's funny I started working on my own Rom Hack after watching this series as it looked fun. I created two levels before I playtested and was so surprised when I got sent back to the overworld. All the Rom Hacks I've played had the Quick Retry so I was caught off guard with that. I have no idea how to set that up though and haven't looked into it yet, so far seems like this is gonna be a lot of work. So props to all these creators!
I come from an uncommon perspective, but I agree with those who say DKC3 is the best of the trilogy. And I think you should play it.
It was my first one, so when I went back to play older ones, I got disappointed by the differences. Like, why is the overworld more restrictive? Why do the colours seem duller? Why is Diddy just a boring version of Dixie?
I love being a kid during the prequel trilogy because it allows me to always see all them as good movies like I still fuck with the originals more but that nostalgia hits for prequel
YEEESSSS, I've been looking forward to seeing this hack played again for this challenge, show those tetriminoes who's the boss!
Shame on me
I have never heard of this masterpiece before
That music on the tutorial stage is amazing
lumi was such a great hack
I love the music in abstract pipes so much
16:21 respect to the PoP: WW dahaka runs reference in chat. after multiple playthroughs of that game, those went from being my least enjoyed to favorite parts of the game
Dude, seeing a playthrough of this hack was one of the main reasons I got into kaizo. Took it on waaaay before I was ready, took over 40 hours to beat. No regrets.
Cool Spot had no right having a bonus stage with music that went that hard.
Love Luminescent
I really appreciate you put these together for UA-cam, I rarely go to twitch, so it’s nice to see your content here. The editing is excellent!
I’d count it as a clear
Huh if you beat nemesis you get pieces for an eagle gun like beat him 2 or three times you get an eagle pistol then i think first aid pack then a magnum or something, but yeah it is super fun boss you gotta press R1 to dodge it and keep dodging until you kill it that plus mercenaries made RE3 so much fun every time you kill nemesis he says stars like super sad and really doesn't die just kinda defeated
You get a shotgun instead of a magnum. The lever action shotgun from Terminator 2
Oh yeah maybe your right
I forgot how cool the frozen-entity Yoshi level is
Been waiting for this video since the beginning of this challenge.
Aw I thought it might be a non-Kaizo hack. I don't wanna do a bunch of complicated shit, I just wanna have fun
Oh my god I forgot this hack
Boss where you have to escape doesn't work. I see GPB never played Ori 1.
Literal opposite of what he said, he was trying to think of a boss like that which wasn’t rad (and failed to find one). Also, yeah, Ori 1 rules.
Sure, there's a great movie in Episode 1! Just edit it down to nothing but the Dual of Fates, and BOOM, great movie.
