Gangai Amaran has always been a celebrity I've looked up to for his modesty, frankness, multi-talents, sense of humor and above all, his generosity in praising others' good work. He may not be a genius in a specific field, but on the whole, Tamil cinema would have been poorer without him.

Already Tamil youths in overseas are not associating or able to refer to good tamil language and songs. Please help to promote good Tamil around south east asia. I would like to share an interesting in incident about the song " Yeh Zindaki usi ki " in the film ANARKALI.The film was produced by Filimistan studios Bombay and music. by Chitalkar Ramachandra..Actually what happened was that a great music director Roshan once invited Chitalkar Ramachandra'ji for a dinner. At that time Chitalkar ji was deeply thinking about the tune and expressed this to Roshanji.Immediately Roshanji took piece of paper and scribbled some musical notes and gave to Chitalkar ji Born the song was "Yeh Zindagi usi ki hai". This information was openly admitted by both the music directors. .How many of the present day music directors have such large heaetedness?
Bosskey and Gangai Amaran were in one voice in saying they didn't like the songs in Tharai Thappatai. But while most songs were situational in nature, there are two amazingly soulful songs in the movie - Idarinum and Paruruvaya. Bosskey (you being a big Rajaa fan), I wonder how you let the two songs slip your attention! Spare time to give a ear to these two songs, I bet you’ll love them- they are typical Rajaa songs- soulful and full of intricacy.

Amaran, though he has written many songs on his own, he has purchased many songs for Rs.200 to Rs.500 per song also in 1980's from people who look for cine openings, i knew this through cine people telling about this to my dad who was a tamizh poet when we lived near kodambakkam at that time....

Ilayaraja sir is God's gift to music listeners, National award can be given to youngsters if their music score is outstanding,NO OBJECTION at all. Given the exemplary heights Raja Sir's music has attained, its just Odd to demote and award in sub-category.

Amaran, though he has written many songs on his own, he has purchased many songs for Rs.200 to Rs.500 per song also in 1980's from people who look for cine openings, i knew this through cine people telling about this to my dad who was a tamizh poet when we lived near kodambakkam at that time....
