    Yess, this is happening on my dirt bike! It's a two stroke so at least my head gasket is a little easier than a car assuming that's all my problem is not a cracked block or anyting!

    Why would transmission fluid look like that but the radiator fluid be fine? (My problem) just want to make sure I diagnose it right.

    • @thisisyourtransmission
      @thisisyourtransmission  3 роки тому

      Only thing I can tell you is that on some vehicles, the radiator fluid goes into the transmission only, while in some vehicles, the transmission fluid and radiator fluid gets in both the radiator/engine and in the transmission.

      I have seen hondas have the mixture in both. Once the transmission was changed, then the radiator had to be changed and the engine flushed.

      Mine is an f150 6r80. It’s so weird. It has a transmission cooler separate, but I guess the coolant can still get in? So weird... I am just making sure it can’t be something else before I replace an otherwise great looking radiator... I dread another transmission rebuild, but here I am. luckily this 6r80’s are pretty straight forward. I almost want to try a radiator flush and all new fluid just to see what happens. I’d be out the fluid money but it would be great if I got away with it.

    Whats is the amount of water that got into atf is little? Will it still hv milkshake colour?

    • @thisisyourtransmission
      @thisisyourtransmission  2 роки тому

      Don't know the amount that got in. This question what have to be for a chemistry lab that have the ability to separate the water from the transmission fluid. If you leave this transmission in the vehicle, the only way that one could get the color back to true transmission fluid is to have the fluid flushed by a machine. However, the water/antifreeze would have already done its damage.

    What about if it's the new orange or synthetic antifreeze?

      What do you mean?

      @boosted_donkey 3 роки тому

      They mean dexcool. In that case its have more of an orange or brownish tint. Even old red trans fluid can be a brownish sludge

      Is the antifreeze mixing with the transmission fluid?

      @@thisisyourtransmission So far I've only been able to confirm transmission fluid in my radiator. But I can promise you I have transmission issues, she's definitely slipping and going into limp mode. So I'm expecting a mess when I get into it.

      @@mikeythesizzlerr9495 when I have this problem, I install an aftermarket transmission cooler as a stand alone unit. This will never happen again.

    So I go to get my car looked at because it kept accelerating more than I was giving it gas they said that I didn't have any transmission fluid in there and that it had spurted everywhere have a Honda Pilot 2009 so we called Honda and they told us to put a little bit of transmission fluid to get me there we did that I went in the next day they looked at the car called me and said that they recommended that I get the radiator changed because the transmission cooler let loose and transmission fluid was in my coolant pumping it thru the coolant system also said we should do a transmission fluid flush just in case there is any coolant in the transmission itself if there is sometimes that does result in replacing transmission because of the clutch getting any other fluid on the clutch disc could ruin it but checking the dipstick he didn't see any signs that that had happened but there wasn't enough transmission in fluid in there to see that and a flush on the cooling system to get all the transmission fluid out of there any mention that we they might need to replace the thermostat he told me he would call me with an update when he called me back when I call for a question 4 hrs later they are done and said they only got 80 percent out and they didn't believe they could get the rest out mind you this is a Honda dealership I want to know can I sue them because if they knew that it needed to all come out what was the point of charging me $1,600 they never mentioned that anything was messed up and we're more concerned about me getting my timing belt replaced I drove it to the city for the weekend and on the way back head overheated and now I have this milkshake of death in my system what do I do

    • @thisisyourtransmission
      @thisisyourtransmission  2 роки тому

      Well, they are supposed to get the mixture out as much as they can. Then they are supposed to test the cooling system to make sure that it is cooling the system properly, that is making sure that the fan is turning on and off properly. Making sure the fan when on is pulling the hot air away from the radiator. They suppose to verify all of this before returning it back to you.
