    Great work man, really love it. You really earned your sub.
    I'm curious tho, how did you get the burning effect? You seem to first oil it, then burn it and then rub off the smut or how does it work?

    • @EpicWorkshop
      @EpicWorkshop  6 років тому +1

      +The Dayan Dude Thanks bro 😉 😊 🍺
      You just char it l, not burn 😉
      And you don't need to preoil I changed my mind but I edited it wrong hahah 😲
      Just char it and when it is black, put some linseed oil and remove black residue from the high spots to get that old effect 😉

    Awesome and beautiful all in one! But . . . I think Thor would need something a little bigger for slaying giants. LOL
    Looking at your technique, I'm assuming that you're using the carving knives for a quicker removal of the larger pieces, then using a dremel tool for the fine tuning?

    • @EpicWorkshop
      @EpicWorkshop  7 років тому

      Thank you, the bigger one is beside it... but still, I need to make bigger one :)
      I actually carve a lot with hand tool and then I flatten the background of the carve with Dremel tool because I find it easier :)
      Thanks for commenting :D

    I LOOVE THIS
    I Have a few questions about this build. Is that candle a specific kind of candle used to darken? Or is it just a normal candle?
    And what did you use to sand off the sides of the mallet that was charred?
    And what did you drip over the handle?

    • @EpicWorkshop
      @EpicWorkshop  6 років тому

      +PeaBraine Thanks bro 😄🤘🍺
      It is normal beeswax candle 😉 hah
      You mean carved side, I didn't sand it, I only wiped off the excess linseed oil with piece of cloth and that removes the charring from candle from high spots on carving 😉
      Chocolate syrup 😉🍫
      Jk. Linseed oil 😂

    • @EpicWorkshop

    hello, ? for you. what kind or brand of carving tools do you use, or where can I purchase so I attempt to carve. I bought a cheap set and all I'm doing in making indents instead of carving or cutting. also want to make spoons any help would be appreciated thanks

    • @EpicWorkshop
      @EpicWorkshop  7 років тому

      +David Good Hey David, I have Two Cherries carving set but I don't recommend them because they're too brittle and they are too expensive. Maybe try to sharpen your chisels really good (shaving good), and for spoon making you need big gouges 25 mm up to 35 mm wide. Watch Paul Sellers video where he makes a spoon ;) Hope that I helped a bit :)
      Have a nice day :D
