I bought a fully-specced M340i XDrive on European Delivery. Re-delivery on the 23rd. M-Performance Track Package and brakes are a must. Same with Harmon-Kardon Sound System. With COVID, power trunk is a good one! Heads-up display is a must! Black interior is too dark. Get the Fiona Red, Creme, or Brown for the interior! I got the Individual Fiona Red full red leather, which was $3100 Canadian!
I agree to some of your suggested options but not to others. 1. Definitely go with non run flat tires. 2. Leather is a matter of personal preference. One thing I'm not a fan of in BMW interior is hard leather seats. Unless you really prefer real leather for some reason, choosing Sensatec seats is not a problem at all. Sesatec seats come with all adjustments (including lumbar support if you choose it) and are softer than leather. 3. Cerium Grey exterior trims don't look good to me. I also hear that the matte surface is a dirt magnet. 4. Harman Kardon system in BMW cars is not good. Far, far lower quality than the HK in Volvo. They go louder than the stock system, of course. But their frequency response measures really poorly. I'd rather choose the stock one. 5. Heated steering wheels and seats are definitely worth it if driving in cold weather. 6. HUD is convenient IF you get used to it. But is it really necessary? Would you not buy a Porsche because of unavailable HUD?
Yo I feel you on the run flat tire, my 530, 535 and 540 as soon as I pick them up the run flat tires came off... also ambient lighting does add that touch of class
Excellent review and comments as usual! Kudos to you. Few personal comments: cerium grey (or should we say cerium gold) is great only when combined with a black exterior paint. Keyless or whatever it’s called entry to the car makes me nuts when you walk around it (keeps on closing and opening). Agree 100% on the leather provided you don’t have kids, dogs and you don’t drive with blue jeans on. Stereo\sound system: agree again with you provided you don’t want to listen to your engine (makes sense on a freeway when you don’t care about your engine sound). HUD: agree 100%. Just ordered my M340i yesterday: full black exterior (no cerium), black leather interior, better sound system, HUD, black 19’ wheels, debadged. Car will basically be a sleeper. I still have till the end of December to add or change some options as the car will enter production mid-January. Still considering a lighter leather color like cognac... Thanks again for your honesty and comments. Many people will option this car with useless things. You picked very essential options with no BS whatsoever. Cheers from Luxembourg 🇱🇺
Also get the adaptive suspension if you can. It's nice to be able to have a comfortable ride. The standard suspension is too harsh for my taste when I don't want the ride to be harsh...

About the heated seat and steering wheel section, I live in socal where the coldest I deal with is probably 45 degrees and I still use it. I honestly use it even when it's 80 outside. It's a really nice and comfortable feature, I just wish it got a tad bit hotter
Bummed mine is missing a bunch of options. I thought the ambient lights came standard but they don’t 😢 no harman kardon or HUD either. But it has the adaptive M suspension which is the main reason I wanted it. I think it makes up for it just a little bit.
I have it on mine and couldn’t do without it! One improvement is after 2-3 mins of the keys being stationary, they turn off. Limits the time window someone can use one of those signal boosters.
You probably dont care but if you're stoned like me atm you can watch pretty much all of the new movies and series on instaflixxer. Been watching with my gf for the last few days =)
I have a 2021 = you are correct on 4S tires. I put the INDY 500s on my Ferrrari 308 by the way. I love the cerium gray accents so I left it. I did add the 50th ann. Roundels. My car is Mineral White Metallic with Cognac interior.// M sport exhaust a must!

i dont understand how some people specc their cars, i've been looking on used ones, i've seen cars with everything equipped, laserlights, head ups, leather seats etc, but not even hifi stereo but base. And harman kardon option is like 800 euros. Or the opposite, they specc everything, but not leather seats. I bought a used 330e, i really wanted a blue one but there was to much compromise with the options out there, so i found a mineral white one, cognac m sport seats, sunroof, hk and everything. Maybe i will foil it :)
20K is a huge price cut vs new. Brand new, spec'd how I would want the car is right at $70k. A big price right in line with a prestige S5 with all the specs I would want. I'm torn between the two cars. The S5 sportback has that huge hatch and IMO better looking but the BMW has more tuning potential, faster stock and better exhaust note.
Man you don’t need to hold the button for the sun shade all you got to do is push it back for like a half a second and it will go all the way back on it’s own 😊

understanding that you didnt go with the F8x for content reasons since there's a ton out already. With that being said would you still say the 340 is the better car over the F80?
For straight up track driving and availability of mods I’d give it to the F8x. However Daily Driving, Spirited Driving on back roads, exhaust sound, updated technology the 340i got it
@Slowspeed I have an opportunity to buy a 2020 m240i. It's similarly spec'd as this one, but its higher mileage and out of warranty. Seems to be well taken care of, but you never know. $46k with 57k miles, would you say that's a gamble or a good deal?

Wait wait wait did you package the m performance exhaust or was that the standard sport exhaust? Asking because I have a 2021 in transit on the way to the dealer. It’s said the sound changed on them with new tuning however I’ve seen coding or adding a tune and lastly unplug the connector for exhaust valve while open.

How do you code remote engine start using the key fob for that car !!! I haven’t meet anyone that can answer it or knows whether it can be done unless purchased from the BMW APP
Shadowline trim is superior. Can't stand to look at chrome trim anymore especially on kidney grilles

Firehawk Indy 500 tires. 95% of the PS4 at like half the cost. Doesn't physically hurt each time you break traction!

I love my 2019 M4 and it's has the red interior. I have the top audio sound system. I had the old one in my 2018 440I. It's a big difference in sound
