Imagine how weird it is for him though, he thought he was in a happy relationship with her, and then bam! its not her, instead he ended up messing up his life with her and now having to backstep with her. It sucks for him too.
Peter is really trying and you can see it in his eyes how painful it is to watch her hurting, you can tell that he lovers HER. Even though I feel sorry for Olivia, I think what he did isn't unforgivable, but I get that it would take some time to heal. :]
