Petra is still the best in the world when she's plays like she did today and the match before. Brilliant.
She's been the player with the most potential for 10 years. I still maintain that her best is every bit as good as Serena's and im being serious there. Serena has been consistent ina way that Petra just never has been. Imagine how much time she'd have spent at No1 if she had had real consistency - the two of them would have swapped the top spot endlessly.

Yes I agree. Petra is by far the most complete player with the best groundstrokes over the past decade or so. Her only weakness is movement but if she's on it's hard to get her out of position.

@@matthewrichards9658 I would say in both of their primes Petra may have even better groundstrokes than serena but a bit more inconsistent and serena was a better mover and although Petra has a good serve it is not a dominant serve like serena's was in her prime. Ive seen matches where serena doesn't even necessarily play that great but her serve keeps her in sets to where she only needs a brief window of great play to break 1 game from someone and then boom the set is hers. I don't think Petra ever had that level of dominance holding serve but I agree she has vastly underperformed based on her talent level and should have more slams.

Often she is still screaming when her opponent is hitting the ball at the baseline. When her opponent is at the net she screams during the whole move of her opponent… how is considered within the rules… I cannot understand

Based on what I saw from her yesterday… against Giorgi I had the feeling that Petra was going to destroy Sabalenka . That was her best match of the season. Petra is not playing at her best since the beginning of the season so is Sabalenka ! I am really starting to think that Tursunov was her coach , since she’s not with him her results are pretty low. Now there’s no freaking way she’s gonna have him back since Kontaveit is on fire 🔥.Sabalenka is far from being my favourite player , but I think it sucks that her game is fading away like that bc I saw her game evolve from 2017. I hope she and her team gonna find a solution soon cuz she’s not gonna be #2 or top 10 or even a top 20 (quite frankly) if she continues to get results like that . I mean make the third round is not enough to stay among the high ranking players .Courage to Sabalenka and props to Petra for the win I hope she’ll continue to play well .

I just love watching Petra play. What a strong, solid performance from a lady of the court. Sabalenka just comes across as a brute every time she's on the court. Petra on the other hand always comes across as dignified and regal. Well done!

I feel for Sabalenka😢. I think she played well, the only problem is her serve. Like she said yesterday after winning against Marta that " she's been working hard on her serve and hopes some day she will get it back". I hope "some day" is sooner. Congrats to Kvitova❤

I love extended highlight but they often miss the most important parts of the match, like the only break in the second set here. I get that maybe there was no good rallies then and just errors but at least show one point to give us an idea how the break happened.

Sabalenka is a head case, though sometimes I think we forget she is only 23. Physically she has all the tools and then some. Been waiting for her to win a major for a good while now. Yet while Ostapenko, Swiatek, Kenin and Krejcikova have won majors, she has not. Hope she figures it out because she has too much talent.

LOL Kvitova creates the same if not more power than Sabalenka, but she does it quietly widh grace and technique while Aryna has to ... perform a satanic ritual every time she hits the ball (based on the acoustics). Maybe there is something she can learn from Petra.
Kvitova has to be one of the weirdest players, last week she got beaten by a woman who she'd beaten 5 times in a row, without no loses and then this week, she beats the No1 seed in this tournament.
Her inconsistency lets her down either though I hope this result will kick start her season and it gives her the confident to go deep into tournaments.
