Why Buy Exo Terra Terrariums?

- The Exo Terra Glass Terrarium is the ideal reptile or amphibian housing designed by European herpetologists. The front opening doors allow easy access for maintenance and feeding. A specially designed lock will prevent escape and the doors can be opened separately. The full screen top ventilation allows UVB and infrared penetration, and is completely removable for easy access while decorating or cleaning. In the back of the screen cover are 5 closable wire or tube inlets on both sides to install Heat Wave Rocks, Waterfalls, sensors, etc. inside the terrarium. The bottom plate of the terrarium is raised to mount a substrate heater to heat a part of the extended ground surface. The extra high fixed front window is ideal for thick layers of substrates (burrowing reptiles), aquatic parts (paludarium) or to mount an Exo Terra reptile den. The natural background is in the same colour like all other Exo Terra decoration items
(Water Dishes, Waterfalls, Heat Wave Rocks, etc.) and provides an extra climbing dimension.

Exoterra terrariums are wonderful, I LOVE mine, but, it's to bad they are SO expensive...
How much are they?
It’s worth it
The lock to keep pets out is a great feature. I lost some good geckos to Señor Chico el Gato Diablo.
Almost Perfect -- the frame of the top is plastic so if you have desert animals you have to be very careful with your heat lamps -- the plastic frame on ours melted and could have resulted in a fire if we hadn't caught it.
I'm always satisfied with the products of Exo-Terra, but they need to change the images they use. Most reptiles should never be housed with sand.
Itz MitchMitch not even a leopard gecko???
Itz MitchMitch it's not the sand that's the problem it's the lack of nutrients giving to the animal which then causes the animal to eat the sand in an attempt to gain these nutrients, animals swallow bits of sand and stone all the time in the wild but captivity causes all sorts of problems
Rajiv Malhotra not trying to be a hater or anything but some desert animals have sand and it’s ok depending on what sand you buy. If it’s made for reptiles then most likely it will be fine
The Bio Dude sells an excellent desert substrate that can be used instead of sand in Exo Terras.Archadia sells a desert one as well.
Um hi how's it going. I know this comment is relatively old, but I use sand for my Western Banded Gecko. I have done my research and these species of gecko have been found in sandy areas of the Mojave, Sonoran, and Colorado deserts. These websites are all reliable research from herpetological and governmental sites. There are owners that uses sand for them especially a famous reptile UA-camr. The breeder that I got him from uses sand as well. The point is do you have to do your research. There are reptiles that thrive in sand in the wild. Also talk to the breeders because there is breeders out there that breed certain reptiles and they do use sand. Overrall the owner of the reptile has the option to use the substrate they think is best for their reptile.
The sand on the tank for display is just for display cause it looks cool so don't scream around
You should know this
i recently got a 36x18x12 for my future bearded dragon . Its going to be awesome.
Awesome :D
i got it made its finished
Hi, are you still having your bearded dragon in this enclosure size? Getting one soon. Would like to know if it's suitable to be kept them till they are adult?
They are great but any bigger sizes on the way would love a paladerium bigger than 90cm would love to see some 120cm models
It's pretty good for growing genetically modified (GMO) moss. I've tried growing moss....without the exo terrarium, the moss gets too dried out or moldy from lack of air flow.
The mesh rusts on the top. Its meant to be stainless steal. For the price you pay you would expect better. But the rest isnt to bad. 3.5/5.
wagg2o1o If it rusts then replace it with regular screen for a door. I did that, and its perfect :))))))))))))))))
This, I wish they offer more sizes!
...i love several long ones (90 x 45 x 45 cm / 36” x 18” x 18”) ...it's just that they're so expensive here where i live
I have the 18x18x18 for my hognose snake. I fill the cage up to the vent with aspen and she has built like an intricate network of tunnels from her burrowing she loves it . great cages. and you get what you pay for.
I absolutely love Exo Terras! I use them for my arboreal arachnids.
Thanks for the love!
If u are from the uk swell reptiles sell a 36"x18"x18" terrariums
These are great, I just wish they'd do a better job of keeping fruit flies and humidity in.
put plastic wrap on the top, under the mesh lid. It's cheesy but it works.
I used these beautiful tanks for my Crested gecko and Eurydactylode. They both have tropical themed vivariums in their exo terras.
Just ordered a 12 x 12 x 18 terrarium for my tree frogs
yea I'm getting an exo-Terra 18X18X24 inch arboreal terrarium for a crested gecko I'm purchasing later this year
Jacob Bate it's lovely
Jacob Bate did you get yes or no
Very nice, I have 75x75x75 terrarium for my california king snake and the box is amazing cat bed.
Im getting this for an updated terrarium for my leopard gecko. :)
Just got used 30x30x45 for praying mantis
These are awesome I use one for my orchid mantis and one for my green anole :)
A snake still requires a heat lamp depending what species, some species only need a heating pad
Can't wait to get my 36x18x36 this Tuesday
Got 2 exo Terra terrariums and I love them 😍 high quality 👍🏼✌🏼
Thanks for the love, have a nice day!
i have one of the long exoterre tank, it works great, ihave gotten my snake yet, but i will be getting it today. but i think that little water area was pretty cool. to bad it would create to much humidty for the corn snake im getting.
Good for mini orchids too.
I got my EXO terra for like $100 less cuz i ordered it from my local pet shop and they buy in bulk so it worked out great for me
It talks about the unique ventilation system...wonder if it would suit chameleons?
Exo Terra Terrariums are my favorite terrariums
$250 for a 40 gallon large 36 x 18 x 18 is a high price, but they are wonderful tanks!
I got one for my Leopard Gecko and he loves it! Shame that most people on reptile groups are against these type of vivariums
Hi...I lost an elderly gecko recently...he was in a wood viv some of his life but the doors started to fall out (I guess years of opening and closing from sliding wore them down a bit) I bought the 60cm x 45cm x 45cm glass viv and he was in that for about 8 years (he was 17 - 20 years old when he passed) I've been on some groups and now being told I did everything wrong...from the heat mat being inside on the bottom of the viv to the size to the fact it is glass...I was told the humidity in the glass tanks are not suitable for leopards and now I have the tank and no clue what to do with it...I desperately want another leopard but don't know if I'm doing it right
@@abycase1209 I feel so sorry for your loss! And please do not take everything negative people say to heart, all Leo Geckos are different, if yours lived to a good ripe old age in the vivarium then he obviously was very comfortable (if not then he would lose his tail or refuse to eat altogether
The large ventilation area makes it difficult to have higher humidity.
going to get my first reptile ever (ball python) and planning to buy one of these now to just figure out the right size
Well it's up based on your preference and research, 24" x 18" x 18" is the typical: put your ball in a 20 gallon for its whole life" people. I prefer larger, something like a 40 gallon breeder equivalent, so the 36" x 18" x 18/24" (the height could be an 18" but I prefer 24" you could go for taller if it's your preference and you want to provide some verticality) keep in mind for larger cage had hiding spots and feel free to acomodate your snake so that it can thrive in a larger enclosure.
What's the best size for a crested gecko to live in fore its hole live ?
guidemaster246 Baby to sub adult will need atleast a 12x12x18. An adult will then take a 18x18x24.
I would not suggest putting a baby in a 18x18x24, as they can get stressed, so upgrade as it grows
+ThatsSoRepti mine has lived in an 18 18 24 its entire life and has always been perfectly fine. Maybe that's just my animal.
Guys, I think Snape is narrating
CousinzCouch __ duhh
Certainly
We all know that Snape has a fond passion for keeping reptiles and amphibians.
Hi, I'm your customer from Italy,
and congratulations for your videos 👍
I have a question:
I should buy a ceiling light for my 60cm terrarium
Which is better one that mounts a double combat ? Or double neon t8? Thanks in front
Hello Marius, we would recommend using compact top(s).
yea there very cool but a little spendy im getting one today for my leopard gecko I like the front door a lot
Just got one for a python hatchling let's hope it last longer than a few months..
Very expensive if sold by retail
which size would be the best option for my tortoise?
he´s grown too big for his old terrarium but still too small to roam freely in the apartment?
I am going to get one for my leopard gecko! I am sure she'll like it, I know I will!
Nice Make Sure To Use Eco Earth
Or repti-carpet
Frostdragon12+ True But. Leos Like To Dig
Yes yes true dat. Babies do sometimes swallow the dirt, so you might have to start with something a bit more solid. Then of course, you can move your gecko to eco earth.
Frostdragon12+ You Should Use Paper Towels For Babies
Can I keep a veiled or Panther chameleon in one of these? I know that they need high humidity and I live in Ohio
noooo I don't know much about chams but I know that they need a screen enclosure
Zoo Med Makes Great Screen Terrariums
for say, Ball Python needs humidity so do they have glass tops
I like these but seriosly, water proof? if used with a fogger the top mesh soon looks like someone took a dump on it.
Amazing enclosure may I ask if there is anyone that distributes large 36 inch tall enclosures in the us

24" tall isnt actually too tall for a bearded dragon since alot of people say they need a viv/tank thats 24" tall
Please exo terra make a 4 foot terrarium, because if I want something like a bearded dragon he won't have enough space.
Yes True
I have an exoterra and it's absolutely wonderful for my snakes.
But I do have to admit, what's the point in the padlock if you can just take the top off the exact same way? 😂
The top is way less accessible compared to the front doors, especially if there are fixtures on top! We would not recommend it, but you can always use silicon if you want the top to be unremovable.
not digging the black ventilation strip that ruins the front view. would be better to put that on the sides, not the front.
for the taller units this is not an issue but for the low profile terrariums that are 12inch tall this strip takes up a bulk of the front viewing area.
I see where you are coming from with that but personally I like it, don't know why
+JTB Reptiles hi
Are you guys coming out with any new sizes soon. I desperately need a 4 Foot 48" Exo Terra. Please let me know before I buy from another company. I really want an Exo Terra but they are just too small.
Is the exo terra terrarium 18x18x18 a good terrarium for a leopard gecko ?? Pls someone help i really want to get a leopard gecko soon
Develin Allen an 18x18x18 could be okay, but since leos like to roam the ground a longer and wider one would be better than a cube shaped one.
I am going to buy one for my leopard gecko instead of a zoomed one
fins egsotics i know right
Exo Terra terrariums are excellent. However, the Exo Terra terrarium STANDS are absolutely horrible, especially for the price. Make sure you check the stands out (fully assembled) IN PERSON before you buy one. I do love my Exo Terra terrarium though & highly reccomend them.
Where on the internet do I have to go to find the prices of these things!? I see great advertising, talk of "high" prices, and I've even been to their webpage, but I have seen *nothing* on the actual prices. It is so frustrating. Could somebody please help? I have a baby iguana and he's growing like California giant kelp. I am a touch pressed for funds but will do anything for my little Madesi. I want to know how much a more vertical one would cost. Does US $249.99 sound right for a large vertical one?
Does anyone else the ventilation strip ruins the whole front view of the terrarium???
Yeah it kind of does, but if ypu put the substrate just below the line you can see the plants
I never thought about this. Usually it's mainly just substrate below the ventilation strip.
dont use sand for geckos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
TheFridge91 why?
@@tomjones4237 but even if they are deseric geckos? Is sand bad for bearded dragons too?
Can you make one of these for the cabinet
The only bad fact is when you have a heat lamp then melt the plastic top
How can I purchase straight from Exo-Terra? My petshop can't get 36*18*18 for some reason. All they can get is 36*18*24 And that's just far too tall for my Beardie.
Any reason why dumpy tree frogs are SO hard to find on any site I'm visiting?
No clue, Jasmine, we only sell products, no animals :)
Brilliant Homes for all worth the money
Can you set up a heat pad in these? How will my wired get out?
I don’t understand hot to buy things on their website I don’t see a add to cart or buy
Unfortunately, we don't sell directly. If you let us know your country of residence, we can guide you towards the corresponding Exo Terra division.
My Exo terra terrarium arrived broken. I'm not the only person who has come across this problem. You guys need to package your products better because people like me are very disappointed and since these are glass, one cardboard box will not protect the tank during shipping. Very disappointed
Do you guys sell products on your website
Is the large/low model suitable for a full grown bearded dragon? And would it be bad if I get one to replace his current terrarium that's 18" high?
I ordered this for my leopard gecko let's hope it's good...
What size did you get?
45 45 45 she likes it not to big or small
I think that would be perfect for a leopard gecko. These are good, because you don't have to reach your hands in from above. Good dimensions all around.
Pretty big for a leo but it'll be a happy camper :-)
Which would be better? The Exo Terra 12x18 or the Zoo Med one in the same size? I'm looking at getting a crested gecko, and zoo med has a CrG starter kit in the 18x24 size. I have seen the ET one in person though, I just was curious to how they compared.
I'd say Exo terra is better for enclosures and lights whereas zoo med is better for decorations and other accessories.
Is it suitable for a desert hairy scorpions
Is the plastic fire-resistant?
Is there a video or a tutorial to setup a water feature as the seen in the min 0:44? Thank you
A little pricey but I like them
I'm getting one for my turtles
How high is it between the ventilation strip and the bottom?
i need to know how many inches to the ventilation strips from the bottom
6 i think
Are the tanks any cheaper at Repticons?
would the tarantula/scorpion starter kit be suitable for a baby tarantula? (I haven't decided what species. But when I do, I'll get back to you) :)
kai james hucknall I would stick to a smaller cage at the beginning a 2 gal would be perfect to allow it to catch its food some tarantulas can suffer from agoraphobia (fear of large spaces) as predators lurk in the open, so the smaller the tarantula the smaller the cage upgrade once it's no longer a spiderling or it may not catch its food
i know how you feel. they need to make bigger ones.
So there's a childproof lock for the front doors, but then a child could just take off the ventilation lid...
Hello Melissa, our screen covers are held in place with 4 turning locks at the top of the terrarium.
Silly question: Does the heat mat go under or in the enclosure?
under most of the time, if its in it will probably burn your animal.
+Kasie Lynn thanks!
In
It's too tall for me. Otherwise I would have heating problems and would need stronger bulbs.
I live in Canada where its cold and hot sometimes now would this be ok for lets say a chameleon? since I live somewhere where its either cold or hot?
I'm pretty sure there's a tall/large model that would be decent for Chameleons. They do a better job keeping heat in that the screen terrariums would. As a fellow Canadian, my animals have done well in these cages.
gonna buy this. size 45x 45x 45cm for my chilean rose Female T
ommagawd das me!
How do you buy products from the website?
Hello Penguin, we are not selling directly. Please contact a local Exo Terra retailer for more information.
looking for one for a box turtle...would this work?
Yes, But If You Can House It Outside Or In A Wooden Terrarium
Problem with these I'd you half to clingfilm half of the top to maintain any humidity at all unless you have plantation soil a fogget and spray effect every 5 hours lol
Would the exo Terra 36x18x12 be okay for a baby Columbian Gold Tegu or Argentine black and white tegu ? Baby's only I know I need a 8foot long when they get bigger but how long could a baby stay in this one
How are the tegus doing?
No, Use A 100 Gallon Breeder
Which size terrarium would be great for a columbian black and white tegu? I'm having a hard time choosing! :(
for a baby the largest size with the most ground space and as an adult you need a custom enclosure at least 8x3x3 and no they dont make those
Ty Jack!
your welcome!
I wish they were deeper
Im gonna get a 24x18x18
@GreatGwen
What type of reptile is it because if its a snake you don't need a heat lamp
Please can someone tell me how big it is??
Hello, we have different sizes available. All our terrariums are 45cm deep, width can vary from 20 to 90 cm, height from 20 to 90 cm. The first terrarium in this clip is 45*45*45.
Can anyone help me what size terrarium do I need for a Mexican red knee tarantula and is it ok to use a heat mat.
Awesome
why was the leperd gecko on the wall
A leopard gecko climbs *smacks forehead*
So so much money I really wanted a exo-terra terrarium but it was way too expensive so I got a cheap one it has a bad opening system and I want morning geckos
i just got the 45x45x60cm exo terra terrarium and got a baby whites tree frog and it has escaped i like the terrariums but what you said about escaping is a load of bull.
How did it escape?
+epicRMiddleton at the top of the background there is a gap he got out somewere where the wire slots.
+Nathan Jabbar ahh, do you have the old model? The current ones have sliding stoppers to block that gap which can be seen in the video.
+epicRMiddleton no i have the new one but when u slide the stopper there is another gap its confused me how he got out coz the gaps so small
+Nathan Jabbar well you either have a really smart frog or the lid wasn't on properly. Maybe a defect in manufacturing.
I am setting up an Exo Terra and there is a spare black plastic piece in the box that I cannot figure out what it is. Anyone know?
Is it like a hook shape? If so, I had the same issue and it took me like 30 mins to work out. goes on the front and 'meant' to help with keeping the doors closed.
Tanked With Aussie thanks! Must be it. It is basically like a 1" or 1 1/2" piece and the shape is like a U. The doors have a lock mechanism so it must be for really strong animals if that's the case.
Nice
